Everytime I walk into a game store and look for a game for the Wii, you know what I see. Rows and rows of shovleware, its a down right embarrassment to even be there. I can see why the Wii area is so clean, no one comes here. And you know whats even worst, it hurts good Wii games when there shove in with all the other crap. Does Nintendo even know there games like this? Or is Nintendo punishing us for being their fans? I didn't buy the Wii so I can play mini-games fested party games or learn how to dress a pretty pony! I mean, even Nintendo is making shoveware games, Wii Music? really? All I can said is: After 2008. the Wii died, since they didn't make any good since SmashBros.
The future of Nintendo is going to be nothing but remakes, since they ran out of ideas.
You're joking right? There have been PLENTY of quality games for the Wii since Smash Bros. (both 1st-party and 3rd-party).
Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii Sports Resort Mario Kart Wii Donkey Kong Country Returns Mega Man 9 and 10 Castlevania Adventure ReBirth Gradius ReBirth Lost Winds 2 Metroid Prime Trilogy Metroid Other M (some people loved it, others hated it) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex Call of Duty: Black Ops Conduit 2 (some people loved it, others hated it) Sonic Colors Monster Hunter Tri Little King's Story NSMBWii Tatsunoko vs Capcom Kirby's Epic Yarn Red Steel 2 No More Heroes 2
I really don't see how shovelware existing is something to complain about. Lack of quality third party support? Sure! Too much poor third party support? ....... why is that a problem? Don't buy it...
You're taking it the wrong way. It's not the fact that shovelware exists that's the problem. It's the amount that stores bring in that's a problem, especially on Nintendo consoles specifically. The PSP and PS3 have tons of shovelware, but the percentage of quality games vs Shovelware in the stores around here for those systems is actually far better - I find myself drooling over all the quality games that those systems have. There's way less crap on the shelves than the DS and the Wii, which has so much that it makes finding good games difficult. That is what people are complaining about.
Like I said, complain about the lack of good new quality games rather than the amount of games you don't like.
When I walk into a major shop and go to the games section there is litterally a whole wall of Wii, a whole wall of DS games and a small shelf for 3DS games. The extra games aren't a problem finding the gems, the gems are easy to find the problem is most of the gems I already have. I can still find good games I don't have though.
There's always Kirby's Epic Yarn or Wario Land Shake to tempt me sitting alongside Metroid Prime Trilogy or something similar. There'll be great games that everyone already has like Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess. There are also crap games but they're not physically stopping you from finding the good games. It's VERY hard to find great games that are used or in the bargain bin but... what's that telling us? Isn't it a good thing that the great games aren't in there?
Even on online stores it's hardly a task to find great games. Check out JB's, there is a lot of crap there but it doesn't stop you from finding Xenoblade, Smash Bros, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Twilight Princess and so on. To use my earlier example, you're literally saying the same thing as an indie kid who might loudly complain "why does Lady Gaga exist in my store? How dare they put...
I just want to say, one of the rumors is a new game by the WarioWare team right? What if its just..ya know...a new WarioWare? A new WW on 3DS would totally floor me. There NEEDS to be some microgame goodness in 3D! Regardless if I get my wish or not, I'm sure this will be a great conference!

I honestly think WarioWare would work best as a downloadable game, and you could download new microgames every week.
I honestly can't explain it any other way. Not everybody's as tenacious as you are, I guess. I know I'm not.
And I still find your example unrelated and quite offensive, btw. But again, I don't know any other way to get it through to you.
........ How?
I understand completely what you're trying to say and I think it's a complete non-issue. It is LITERALLY the same thing as my allegedly "offensive and unrelated" example. You're not simply saying you don't like the shovelware you're complaining that they have the nerve to put shovelware on the same shelf. It's the same as complaining about there being too much crap music on the shelf when you're looking for music or too many crap movies being on the shelf when you're looking for a good movie.
Or like complaining that out of the 20 channels on TV only two of them have things worth watching. How dare they have things on that you don't want to watch! ..... why complain? Just watch the thing you want to watch. It's not that hard.
Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

I've said it plain as day that the problem is that they make it harder to find the games people do want. You're reading into things that aren't there. Listen when people talk to you, you might learn something. I'm done here. Adios.
Now, if you could change Lady Gaga with Justin Bieber on that example it would be much less offensive.
Then it would be "offensive" to people who like Bieber. If I said Nickelback like I did originally it would be "offensive" to people who like Nickelback. If anything the fact that Lady Gaga is popular only serves to further highlights the absurdity of the claim... which was my point.

Yes, I get that. I'm not an idiot I understand completely the point you're trying to make...... and I still think it's a ridiculous thing to complain about. It's entirely possible for people in the world to understand what you're saying and STILL think you're wrong. My entire point is that the existence of shovelware doesn't make it harder to find good games to the extent that people claim it does.
Complain about the lack of quality games? YES... complain about "too many" games you don't like? Why?.... Move your eyes 10cm to the right if you spot a crap game and get over it.

Because people tend to judge things by what they see in front of them. If you see a ton of shovelware games on the shelf, then your first impression is that those are the only games available for that system.
I can see how shovelware may influence the person who has not researched the various consoles. If the shelves are packed with garbage, the uninitiated may conclude that the console's catalog is largely junk. But I suspect educated gamers can find what they're looking for without a problem.
At worst it's a perception problem for Nintendo. I suspect people on the sales floor trying to work out which console to get are just as likely to see Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart and say "oh, I remember these!". They're not going look at the proportion of good games to crap games.
but we weren't talking about that consumer. We were talking about an owner walking into the shop and looking games. For that consumer at the very, very, very worst the amount of shovelware is a minor annoyance. The bigger annoyance is the lack of great new games which I suspect is what people are REALLY complaining about when they talk about shovelware.
For the 5mins after a new Zelda, Mario or Metroid nobody is talking about the shovelware. For people looking at buying a new console the shelves look like the launch of every big title. For the people who have had the console since launch and have got all the game all they see is shovelware.

That's exactly what I just said.
Another example: For years I was hesitant about buying a DS cause I saw the huge amount of crappy games on store shelves. A few weeks ago I buckled down and bought a 3DS just to try it out. To my surprise I've discovered a bunch of high-quality games that I missed out on (digital and cartridge). DSiWare might have a bunch of crap, but so does the App Store. You just need to dig a bit deeper to find the good stuff.

True. I thought this thread was about the 3DS rumors. How did we get so far off topic?

No More Heroes 2
I could go on and on.
Super Mario Galaxy 2: Its the same game with the number two slap on it. Just with less story, and you can ride a Yoshi. Wii Sports Resort: Slapping "Wii" on every party mix game they make, doesn't make it more fun. Mario Kart Wii: A game that took little time to make by adding old race tracks, and a poor online setup. It became nothing more then a breeding ground for hackers And I thought Sony had a hard time with hackers Donkey Kong Country Returns: its 2010, not 1995, why must we take a step backwards in gameplay. Mega Man 9 and 10: We ask for a new MegaMan game and the best thing that Capcom can do is make another 8-bit game. This isn't the 80's anymore. Castlevania Adventure ReBirth: Gradius ReBirth: Just another rehash game with a little bit update, nothing new here. Lost Winds 2: I didn't buy a Wii to play iPhone games on it. Metroid Prime Trilogy: First Person Shooter Metroid game with out the "Shooter" part. You spent most of the game backtracking then shooting anything that does't look like a tiny little bug. Metroid Other M (some people loved it, others hated it): I'm not even gonna talk about this one. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex Call of Duty: Black Ops: This is why I have an X-Box, so I don't have to play the water down Wii version. Conduit 2 (some people loved it, others hated it): This is why we have Call of Duty, Sega should stick to trying to make Sonic better. Sonic Colors: It was a nice try but no dice. Monster Hunter Tri: A failed attempt of making a solid game on the Wii, well done Capcom Little King's Story: This short, unchallenging, and ugly RTS-RPG hybrid is disguised as a strategy game. NSMBWii: Its the most bland Mario game I ever played, its a down right disappointment. Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Best fighting game I played on the Wii, Sadly it sold less then all these games on the list. So Capcom will never bring us another fighting game like this again, but I bet we will get another 8-bit MegaMan game. Kirby's Epic Yarn: A pretty little game that lets you win...wheres the challenge in that? Red Steel 2: Ubisoft is known for making games with great story and well done voice acting....This is not one of them. The only nice thing I can say about this game is it's gameplay. We been waiting for a Wii game that lets us use the controller as a sword....this one was close enough. No More Heroes 2: Ubisoft should give up making games on the Wii. A pathetic attempt of making a Mature game on the Nintendo Wii Mad World was alot more fun then this.
And I could go on and on. Like I said, nothing good.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
