Topic: Nintendo wants you to buy Star Fox 64 3D if you want a new Star Fox game

at least unlike that other company, I doubt they'll just cancel any plans for a new Star Fox before this one is even released

Yea but you know nintendo will make a new star fox eventually. If they said that it's only because they want people to purchase this. It kind of got over shadowed because of OOT. But remember it hasn't been that long since they made a star fox game the last one was for the ds star fox command. I am gonna buy because i like star fox and the graphics look great. They also added new modes and multi player looks fun. Yea They aren't probably going to include online which doesn't make sense but it will still be fun.

Also OOt 3d is great they did a lot to that game. Yes the story isn't brand new but then it wouldn't be a remake. I think boss rush and the new master quest are great additions.

I never got the chance to play Star Fox 64 so I don't really mind this.

Besides, this is how all video-game companies do business, Drill Dozer didn't sell, so there's no sequel (Even though it was hinted at the end of the game). Chibi Robo and it's sequel didn't sell, so they didn't localize the third game. Sure it's not fair to people that do want those games, but a company won't make a game that they think won't sell.

I agree but it's kind of the peoples fault for not trying the games. A lot of people stick to what they know or are used to and don't try new and creative games.

That was 2006, 5 years ago. We had 4 Zeldas in that span of time.

Also, you could say these remakes are to see what'll sell and what won't... you don't go making another game in the series if the first game did poorly in sales. I think SF64 will still be a great game even though it may just be a remake...

Basing whether or not a game will sell by remaking a game everyone who cares either already has or can get for 1/4th the cost is horrible logic, IMO.

I wish they'd put that video up in iTunes! I know that the people at Nintendo have seen that video. Man, I wish they recruit those guys to actually make a Star Fox TV series as I love that video. I will no doubt buy this game on down the road just to support Star Fox anyway.

So you really think Nintendo threw the Zelda remake out there to test the waters? They wouldn't have plans to make a zelda game if it didn't sell well? It doesn't work like that. Capcom can pretend that's how there decision was made for MM Legends (based on prototype or whatever), but the real world knows better.

The original came out the year I was born, so I never was able to try it out. The only game in the Starfox series is Command which I hated. On top of all that It's the only game (on top of the free ones) that I will be getting till November. So I'm getting it but not for a new game in the series.

Yea but that's not too long ago plus Zelda is a bigger franchise compared to star fox. They are just saying that to entice you more to buy it but more than likely they are gonna make a brand new star fox game.

You are right, but Zelda is Zelda. Each game released is sure to sell well. And the MML3 game wasn't cancelled because they thought it wouldn't sell.
@everyone who doesn't want to buy the game and/or has played it already: I think the game is intended for people who have never played this game (like myself). I also disagree with what Nintendo is trying to do, but I do think they will make a new one whether the remake sells or not. Don't buy it if you don't want to.

This. Pretty remakes of games I've played a million times is not going to make me pay $40 for essentially the same experience. I love the game. I have it on my 64 and even on the VC, but not again. They should have added online too.

if nintendo were worried about a new star fox game not selling well enough, then all they have to do is look over sales figures of previous entries. if the sales figures have gone down each game then there`s obviously something wrong, and it either has to change or move on to something different.
i understand that there are alot of people who would like to play star fox 64, but to charge full retail price for an old game with a few enhancements is ridiculous.
thing is, i bet most 3DS owners have a wii, and probably don`t realise it can be bought from the wii VC for a fraction of the price.

I loved the original so getting the enhanced version is a no-brainer for me. But I would love it if they made a brand new game with Andross as the villain, a few on-foot missions and no Krystal.
