Excellent! This is a very nice announcement, I already own Sonic and Galaxy Force II. So of the 7 games left, Power Drift, Puyo Puyo 2 and the two Fantasy Zone titles make this package well worth it for me. Strange that there are two Fantasy Zone titles, but more time in the Fantasy Zone I can handle. Hope we'll see the other set come westward (physically) as well!

HandheldGuru97 commented on Dragon Quest VII Set for a Summer Release in N...:

It's about time My God how long we have waited...tis truly a glorious day indeed...Now considering Nintendo is reaffirming this game is coming summer (and I believe DQ VIII is holding at 'Late' 2016) I hope that means we are getting this one in say, late May or June (instead of late August early September)

HandheldGuru97 commented on Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow 2DS Bundles Conf...:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay....hrm...I really, really would prefer a black New 3DS Standard...and knowing me and Nintendo they'll announce one the minute I purchase this Poké Bundle!!! Still...I must have it!!!!!!!!!!! Any word on price yet??

HandheldGuru97 commented on Nintendo Dominates Festive Sales in Japan as 3...:

Anyway, I hope this goes to show you all, handhelds are still a dominant tour de force, especially for Nintendo. We still don't know what the NX is(!!!!!), but the 3DS's success in Japan can't be over looked, when looking at the NX. Also I hope we'll see a new Splatoon game in the future, the success of that game can't be over looked either!!!!!!!

HandheldGuru97 commented on Feature: A Pokémon Retrospective: Generation ...:

Ah...Generation IV, I know it is far from the popular opinion, but I adore Gen. IV. Of course...that might be, because my very first Pokémon game from Gen. IV Pokémon Diamond, which I received fittingly enough, on my 10th birthday back in 2007. There are a handful of games I can say changed my life, Diamond certainly did. It was the first major JRPG I ever played, or beat, I was engrossed with the game and the story like no other game before it. Diamond is why I am not only a Nintendo fan, but a handheld fan, an RPG fan, and a fan of one Pokémon Explorers of Time is another hugely important game, and remains one of my favorite DS games. Definitely still the best Mystery Dungeon game (and I really still need to get Sky...maybe next year after I'm done with Super...) Oh and Shadows of Almia often doesn't get quite as much love, but I really enjoyed it, but not to the extent of Time and Diamond.
I haven't even hit Platinum or SoulSilver yet! SoulSliver, is easily one of (if not) the best Pokémon game ever, such an amazing adventure. Really a game I can't recommend highly enough. Platinum, I really enjoyed, but I think by 2009 the magic of Pokémon had faded. (There is always that joyous period of childhood, you know??)
So the end all to take from this, Gen IV, it wasn't so bad, and for remains one of the most important and cherished period of my childhood.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Review: Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS):

Just want to put my two cents in here really quick. I am a huge Mystery Dungeon fan and Explores of Time is easily in my top 25 games of all time, it was a defining and important game for me all those moons ago.

For those asking how it stacks up to the older games, allow me easily assure one thing, it is better than Gates to Infinity. Now I didn't hate Gates to Infinity like everyone else, but I will admit it was a pretty weak game, due to lacking roster and slow text speed. I'm still in Super's very lengthy tutorial, but already the improvements are there and they are exactly what needed to change, better roster and text speed is sped up. The story...seems a little weak at the moment, but I have a feeling that will change. The difficulty is back, and it is definitely a welcome change from Infinity, glad hunger returns in this one too. it better than Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky??? I can't (and likely won't) be able to answer that for now, hell even after I beat the game, I doubt I'll be able to decide.

Overall, I'd give super from my first few hours an 8.5/10, difficult, but not punishingly so, the music is amazing, the best part of Infinity (the Graphics Engine), is improved, which is great! Story...little lacking, but I'll still reserve judgement for later into the game. To those who were fans of Explorers Time/Darkness/Sky, or even Infinity go for it! If you enjoyed those games, you will enjoy Super Mystery Dungeon.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Nintendo of America Confirms Its Black Friday ...:

I have a lot of those listed on 3DS already, but there are a few holdouts that are finally at a solid price! Oh and the Level-5 Guild games are on sale, all down to $2.99 Crimson Shroud....might finally bite the bullet on that and Inazuma Eleven.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Fire Emblem Fates Releases In North America On...:

Got a pre-order in from Gamestop for the SE! I enjoyed Awakening, but sadly must admit to being bogged down with all the great 3DS releases of 2013 I never beat it I hope that will change with Fates!! (But two DQ games in one year.....????? Oh Goddess help) The SE will most definitely become a crown jewel of my 3DS collection no matter what.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Dragon Quest VII And VIII Both Confirmed For W...:

OH. MY. GOD. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK THE HIGH GODDESS ABOVE FOR OUR SAVIOR HAS RETURNED, THANK YOU SE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem, oh my god. Oh my god. The 3DS is going to have a great (and bankrupting) year next year. I can't believe we have finally lived to see the day Dragon Quest returns to the states. Thank you Nintendo and thank you Square Enix. Pre-ordering both ASAP.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Feature: A Pokémon Retrospective: Generation ...:

My second Pokémon game was Pokémon Sapphire, I got it for Christmas 2007 after I got Diamond on my 10th birthday in November. It still to this day is one of my favorite games on the Advance and of all time. I got into Pokémon in Gen. IV the years when Pokémon was "uncool" like really uncool. Pokémon Ranger was another early gem on my DS. Not my favorite game, but another soft spot for me. God, I do love Gen III and Gen IV, definitely some of the most defining video games I have played.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Video: Nintendo Goes for the Zany Approach in ...:

Demos are always iffy for me, 90% of the time the game demo doesn't even remotely represent the game itself. That being said I enjoyed Yokai Watch's demo, definitely made me more curious about the game. This commercial was zany and very Japanese. I love it! I'll probably pick this up when I go in on Monday night (11/9) to get Fallout 4.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Video: Remember the Good Old Days With These P...:

Oh. My. God. RIGHT IN THE NOSTALGIA So back when PMD Time and Darkness I was, well, HUGE into Pokémon. I lived, sleeped and breathed Pokémon in 2007 and 2008, Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Sapphire, Pokémon Ranger Shadows of Almia, and of course Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explores of Time. Those games remain to this day, the most defining games of my life. PMDES holds a special and revered place in my heart, yeah I know it wasn't critically acclaimed or anything like that, but was a very powerful game.

But back on subject I remember when these came out for PMD ETD, me and my younger brother watched it and it was sooooooo cool! I'll have to go back and see how these hold up.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (...:

I am looking forward to this game, I am disappointed that it won't punish you for going against the grain. A little defeating when you realize this, but this game will thus be easier (for better or for worse) for children. Meaning Nintendo does have a hell of chance to make this one of the more successful games of 2015. Still, I love Animal Crossing and I will pick this game up and some amiibo cards and enjoy carefully planning out my interiors. Sure I know that I could meet the bare minimum, but the challenge is that you are here to create something, if you're going to be lazy and fail to meet those conditions, why are you even playing the game??? Lord the cynicism that has come from this "community" is staggering as of late, but I have said my peace.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Talking Point: Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pai...:

At the moment this seems like a sensible move. He may not be a game developer, but Hiroshi Yamauchi the golden Nintendo president, never even played video games! I think we will be in good hands, does this mean that we'll see a new Nintendo president in 10 years or so??? Unfortunately yes, but this as temporary aid, this is excellent. The NX and Mobile coming into play and a major focus...Tatsumi Kimishima seems like the best bet for ushering Nintendo into the future. I look forward to see what his leadership brings to the table.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Chieftain Bob Meets Gunman Clive, You Won't Be...:

I am going to try my hardest to stay rational amongst many, dumb and clearly clueless fools on this site. The change I have seen Nintendo Life in the last 5 years or so is, staggering. The click bait articles, the dumber and angrier the comments God. So first and foremost:
To all, my apologizes for the "Chirstian" ignorance from (mostly) my fellow countrymen. Secondly:
This is just a little tiny detail in a much greater game!!!!!!! Clive kisses the girl in the end, it's just meant to be a funny little tease, because Clive is the one kidnapped if you play as any other character!!!!!! It's meant to be tongue-in-cheek! And lastly:
I am just stunned by the stupidity, of so many!!!!!!!!! If there is one I have learned as a (semi-practicing) Catholic is the one commandment Jesus left his followers "Love thy neighbor as I have loved thee"!!
Homosexuality wasn't even A WORD until the 1890's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was added to the bible as the LGBTQ community began to appear more and more in the 50's!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And that is just in the modern sense, Greeks and Roman's are known to have openly gay men and women!!!!!!!!!)
Nintendo Life, I am disappointed in the ways this site has changed for the worse. Click bait, angry and clear stupidity and hatred. Oh how I miss the days this site was smaller.....

HandheldGuru97 commented on Nintendo Download: 3rd September (North America):

Man gotta love all the "NOA SUXZ cause [insert whatever game or service that got shorthanded]"
Ladies and Gentlemen, it may come as a shock, but porting old games to the 3DS and Wii U takes...effort! As much as a AAA Blockbuster??? No, but there is some recoding and control implementations that have to be worked on, it's not like ripping the ROM and calling it a day! Nintendo is doing this as a one man show, the Wii VC they had a lot of help from 3rd Parties, and most of those companies are gone (or mobile-only). The 3DS is nearly 5 years old! And as much as I love the Game Boy and Game Boy Color....there aren't too many games left to put on the eShop (and the ones I can think of...are 3rd party games!). The NES or Game Gear, there are handful of games that I wouldn't mind seeing on the service, but Nintendo's focus on the Wii U....really isn't all that surprising.

Yes it is a bad week for the 3DS, but again at nearly 5 years old, the 3DS will get it's own successor sooner than the Wii U (unless they are one in the same). The U is getting a big spotlight this year, but the 3DS has held that same spotlight for many years on its own. So I myself will wait for September 25th and maybe clean up the backlog in the meantime!

HandheldGuru97 commented on Preview: Getting Inside The Curiously Undemand...:

This has also become (weirdly enough) my most anticipated 3DS game too. I love the design aspect and the freedom the game offers!!!!!!....It sounds like a nice mid-generation follow up to New Leaf, I'll get this on cart and enjoy resiting the AC Universe!

HandheldGuru97 commented on The Smaller New Nintendo 3DS Model is Coming t...:

HandheldGuru97 commented on Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and amiib...:

Happy Home Designer is going to hurt my poor wallet, but I am very excited for it! New Leaf is easily one of the best 3DS games, and my most played at over 200 hours. Now....amiibo Festival.....hehe....yeah, that really isn't for me. But I'll be too busy designing homes (probably in Fallout 4 by this Holliday season ) to care!

HandheldGuru97 commented on Updated 'Roadmap' Infographic Shows Nintendo's...:

It's a good line up. The 3DS is my main Nintendo platform of choice, that release slate is a little barren, but with Legend of Legacy (which isn't for whatever reason on here), Happy Home Designer, Chibi Robo (gotta go for the amiibo!), Yokai-freakin-Watch, Fallout 4....(hehehe) and Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, and maybe Project X Zone 2, Stella Glow and
Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale, late 2015 into 2016 will be plenty full for my 3DS (and PS4...)

HandheldGuru97 commented on Potential Massacre Averted At Pokémon World C...:

@Ralizah and @HollywoodHogan Hey guys I did just want to apologize. I let my emotions get the best of me and of course that has left a dumb internet comment.
As an American citzen, it's just so frustrating to see this type of thing happen on a near daily basis, even if tragedy was averted here...still my apologizes, the first comment I made shall be deleted.

HandheldGuru97 commented on New Patent Sparks Talk of Potential NX Details:

Hmmmmm.........very interesting, very interesting indeed. Guys, we need to remember This can mean everything or nothing. This seems....odd. The PSP Go was critical and commercial failure, just six years ago. And yet, so much has changed in six years, it truly is incredible. Still, I think it is too early for Nintendo to go for an all digital console. Now if the mysterious NX (WHICH AGAIN WE STILL KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) is a hybrid, the console portion (as is seen above) looks to be a docking station. That makes the handheld portion the priority, which could further damage 3rd Party relationships, in the west. The handheld being the priority in Japan means Nintendo will have major support in the East, much like the 3DS.
But we shall see...we shall see.......

HandheldGuru97 commented on Yo-kai Watch Hits North America on 6th Novembe...:

Dammit. That is too close for comfort to Fallout 4.....hrm....damn. This is a problem, with the frozen nuclear wasteland my backlog is going to turn into after that megaton drops on November 10th....maybe I'll ask for this for my birthday (a few weeks later)........would be to do????

HandheldGuru97 commented on Ninterview: Dave Higgins And The Quest For A C...:

Awesome collection, mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Game Boy (and more specially, the Game Boy Light and Game Boy Color) are two of my favorite handhelds in my collection. While overtime I've picked up many different handhelds (Atari Lynx, NGPC, Sega Game Gear and even the Tiger!) , but the Game Boy I keep collecting for it! Here my Original GB and GBC collection at 109 games

HandheldGuru97 commented on The Legend of Legacy Launch Edition is a Thing...:

This looks like it is staying at $40 even for the LE, but hell I'd pay $50, mainly cause that art book looks mighty impressive. I'll pay off my Fallout 4 Preorder and put money down for this and Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer!!!! (HHD seems to get better and better, with each passing day)

HandheldGuru97 commented on 3DS Can Last For Another Two To Three Years In...:

I suppose the 'Guru should chime in, right?? Well NIS makes a valid point, as a smaller company NIS is likely to take advantage of the last years of the 3DS and Vita more so than other AAA big name developers. After this year's e3, you can see the 3DS has aged a lot in the last five years, but Nintendo seems committed to bringing it through 2016 (and hell, I'd say more so than the U). However...we still don't know what the NX is!!!!!!!!!!! I (duh) want it to a handheld. But it could just as easily be a console as it could be a handheld!!! Or both! So I don't know...with the New 3DS Line....a year certainly sounds reasonable, two years...sure maybe, but probably not longer without a replacement. I think we will see the last of the last 3DS game(s) in 2019-2020, but hey, we shall see...we shall see.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Xenoblade Chronicles X Wii U Bundle and Specia...:

Awesome!!!!!!! Thats I nice bundle for the Hardcore(er) fans that might not have a Wii U. Xenoblade being on the eShop is HUGE! I have it on the New 3DS (muddy textures and all), not really my type of game...and yet....I've really enjoyed it. Still far from complete, I'll probably play it on my flight today...

HandheldGuru97 commented on Soapbox: It's A Tragedy That Rare Replay Isn't...:

This and Fallout 4 are the games I plan on getting when I pick up an Xbox One sometime next year. (My brother has a PS4, but it's likely he won't give it up when I move out next year....and I wouldn't mind giving the giant VCR a chance) RC Pro AM ll is super expensive!!!!!!!!! One rare NES game to keep an eye out this collection is prefect for the cheapskate in me!

HandheldGuru97 commented on Super Smash Bros. Version 1.1.0 Update is Now ...:

Very nice update!!! Wish we were getting Tourneys on the 3DS, but considering that the game will (probably) explode if anything else is added to the game, I can understand....just means I need to fire up my Wii U and play some good old fashioned tourneys!

HandheldGuru97 commented on Final Fantasy Explorers is Journeying To The W...:

Well this is a interesting development!!!!!!!! I didn't think this game would come Stateside, but I have been interested in maybe giving it a whirl (and I'd imagine that the better it sells, the greater a chance XI comes west, like others have said) So...damn you Square got me. Also it comes out in (usually) the worst month for gaming, so huzzah! (Not like I won't still be playing Fallout 4 to care about anything else...hehe...yeah...)

HandheldGuru97 commented on Dragon Quest XI Is Coming To The Nintendo 3DS ...:

@TheLastLugia Hey, I've been around this neighborhood for a many, many moons. Sure as hell has gotten rougher in the preceding years. Showing any amount of leniency to Nintendo and not being on the whole...DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED! Train, you're attacked and burned by "Nintendo Fans" they are the best....ugh. Damn I wish I could go back to what this site was like in those were the years....Still look, the Wii U, like I said, it failed, move on. It is a game console if you're one of the ones who feel that you've been "burned" by Nintendo....fine don't buy the NX, leave this site too while you're at it! But don't let the door hit you on your way out! I've held through some rough years with Nintendo (and thats only been about 10 years!!!!), they're not a bad company. The best??? No (they're a corporation after all), but they march to the beat of their own drum, and it takes spunk to that in this world. I dig it, and I'll support 'em, until they go down in flames or until I've run my course with video gaming. I have more happy memories than with...just about anything else. So we shall see what the future holds...we shall see.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Dragon Quest XI Is Coming To The Nintendo 3DS ...:

WHOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES! Okay, okay...calm down Guru, calm down. Kay, I'm good. Wowza! This game looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! The PS4 version is gorgeous and the 3DS version is charming as hell. That is a pretty wicked use the dual screens, can't believe it took 11 years after the DS launched for something that cool to happen with the dual screens! Now...the crushing reality...we have no less than 10 say it with me uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez ,t-e-n Dragon Quest 3DS games that have failed to come westward in the last five years (dammit I can't believe the 3DS is that old already...) So the chances this 3DS DQ title changes the trend are slim to none But....the NX???? Maybe...maybe.

Also I notice that there is a lot of "Nintendo Fans" (NOTICE THE QUOTATION MARKS!) fear mongering the whole "Nintendo is DOOOOOOOOOOOMED" or "The Wii U is dead, #Nintendo3rdPartyForeverCONFIRMED!" So lets all stop and calm the hell down.
The facts:
The Wii U is Nintendo's worst selling console (Virtual Boy remains their greatest failure ever, but as a quick blip, not a major console), that sadly won't change
Nintendo has been in this boat before, do you remember??? No of course not. That was 15 years ago with the Gamecube, when the Xbox (one;)) and PS*2* were outselling the 'Cube at every turn. In a sense, history is repeating itself here. Nintendo killed the 'Cube in 2005/2006. That is 4-5 years after the 'Cube launched. The NX is (maybe) coming next year, but more likely than not it's coming in 2017. Again in case you can't remember....that is 5 years after the Wii U launched (November 18, 2012), now since the NX is looking like a spring launch, it's more like 4 1/2 years, but still, almost 5 years!
With the NX....we still don't know if it'll be a handheld, a console, both, neither or a mix of the two WE DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It could be anything at this point. Will it likely replace the Wii U??? YES! The Wii U has failed, sorry, but it is a failure! Nintendo isn't going to try and appease a few fans mad that the U isn't getting AAA 3rd party titles and all the AAA Nintendo titles that you want! They can't afford to do that. And could it be a replacement for the 3DS??? Absolutely! Now the 3DS went from an early grave to the best selling console of the 8th generation. But she is getting old, like I said, 5 years old Next March, Nintendo needs a successor for both. Whether or not you like

Nintendo isn't going to appease the minority of ticked off fans about the Wii U. Either way we still don't know what the bloody hell the NX is/will be! So just RELAX and enjoy the U for what it is.
Now back to my excitement for DQXI!!!!!!!!!! Hype Train.....activate!! (And 3DS DQXI plz come west...please...)

HandheldGuru97 commented on Review: LEGO Jurassic World (3DS):

The reviews for this portable Lego outing seem to be all over the place (NWR gave it an 8, NL giving it a 4 here), hrm. I'll watch for some more reviews and maybe wait until this hits the bargain bins. My Jurassic Park nostalgia will probably cover up a lot of the flaws, but who knows...we shall see.

HandheldGuru97 commented on First Impressions: Heading Back to the Farm in...:

This one wasn't really on my radar (Story of Seasons only came out earlier this spring!), but the game look a lot like Fantasy Life and really appears to be a massive labor of love for the Xseed team. They sure know which gems to bring stateside, so I'll certainly give this one a try (probably in 2016)

HandheldGuru97 commented on New Pokémon May Be On the Way Following Movie...: very well is likely to be a Gen. 7 Pokémon, much like say Munchlax and Lucario as one of the commenters above stated...but I don't think well see Gen. 7 next year. PKMN Z, definitely, but why no Gen. 7??? Simple, if the NX is a hybrid or handheld thats where Gen.7 will get its start (at least I hope they won't repeat the Black and White mistake!), but that wouldn't happen until 2017 at the earliest, a little Pokémon Z to hold us over until Gen. 7 in 2017.

HandheldGuru97 commented on Nintendo Download: 16th July (North America):

Quiet week, but next week looks a bit better (Streets of Rage 2, Binding of Isaac and Dragon Fantasy: The Volumes of Westeria), a bad week, but given what has happened I can hold off until next week.
@Qun_Mang So I can't remember exactly when it happened (I want to say late 2012 or some time in 2013), but Reggie remained President of NOA and Iwata became CEO. I don't believe the same thing occurred in Europe, but I could be wrong. It was strange little tale, I'll have to look up and see what the full story behind these events were.
