Very nice update!!! Wish we were getting Tourneys on the 3DS, but considering that the game will (probably) explode if anything else is added to the game, I can understand....just means I need to fire up my Wii U and play some good old fashioned tourneys!

Well this is a interesting development!!!!!!!! I didn't think this game would come Stateside, but I have been interested in maybe giving it a whirl (and I'd imagine that the better it sells, the greater a chance XI comes west, like others have said) So...damn you Square Enix....you got me. Also it comes out in (usually) the worst month for gaming, so huzzah! (Not like I won't still be playing Fallout 4 to care about anything else...hehe...yeah...)

@TheLastLugia Hey, I've been around this neighborhood for a many, many moons. Sure as hell has gotten rougher in the preceding years. Showing any amount of leniency to Nintendo and not being on the whole...DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED! Train, you're attacked and burned by "Nintendo Fans" they are the best....ugh. Damn I wish I could go back to what this site was like in 2010....now those were the years....Still look, the Wii U, like I said, it failed, move on. It is a game console if you're one of the ones who feel that you've been "burned" by Nintendo....fine don't buy the NX, leave this site too while you're at it! But don't let the door hit you on your way out! I've held through some rough years with Nintendo (and thats only been about 10 years!!!!), they're not a bad company. The best??? No (they're a corporation after all), but they march to the beat of their own drum, and it takes spunk to that in this world. I dig it, and I'll support 'em, until they go down in flames or until I've run my course with video gaming. I have more happy memories than with...just about anything else. So we shall see what the future holds...we shall see.

WHOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) YES! Okay, okay...calm down Guru, calm down. Kay, I'm good. Wowza! This game looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! The PS4 version is gorgeous and the 3DS version is charming as hell. That is a pretty wicked use the dual screens, can't believe it took 11 years after the DS launched for something that cool to happen with the dual screens! Now...the crushing reality...we have no less than 10 say it with me uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez ,t-e-n Dragon Quest 3DS games that have failed to come westward in the last five years (dammit I can't believe the 3DS is that old already...) So the chances this 3DS DQ title changes the trend are slim to none :( But....the NX???? Maybe...maybe.

Also I notice that there is a lot of "Nintendo Fans" (NOTICE THE QUOTATION MARKS!) fear mongering the whole "Nintendo is DOOOOOOOOOOOMED" or "The Wii U is dead, #Nintendo3rdPartyForeverCONFIRMED!" So lets all stop and calm the hell down.
The facts:
The Wii U is Nintendo's worst selling console (Virtual Boy remains their greatest failure ever, but as a quick blip, not a major console), that sadly won't change
Nintendo has been in this boat before, do you remember??? No of course not. That was 15 years ago with the Gamecube, when the Xbox (one;)) and PS*2* were outselling the 'Cube at every turn. In a sense, history is repeating itself here. Nintendo killed the 'Cube in 2005/2006. That is 4-5 years after the 'Cube launched. The NX is (maybe) coming next year, but more likely than not it's coming in 2017. Again in case you can't remember....that is 5 years after the Wii U launched (November 18, 2012), now since the NX is looking like a spring launch, it's more like 4 1/2 years, but still, almost 5 years!
With the NX....we still don't know if it'll be a handheld, a console, both, neither or a mix of the two WE DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It could be anything at this point. Will it likely replace the Wii U??? YES! The Wii U has failed, sorry, but it is a failure! Nintendo isn't going to try and appease a few fans mad that the U isn't getting AAA 3rd party titles and all the AAA Nintendo titles that you want! They can't afford to do that. And could it be a replacement for the 3DS??? Absolutely! Now the 3DS went from an early grave to the best selling console of the 8th generation. But she is getting old, like I said, 5 years old Next March, Nintendo needs a successor for both. Whether or not you like

TL;DR
Nintendo isn't going to appease the minority of ticked off fans about the Wii U. Either way we still don't know what the bloody hell the NX is/will be! So just RELAX and enjoy the U for what it is.
Now back to my excitement for DQXI!!!!!!!!!! Hype Train.....activate!! (And 3DS DQXI plz come west...please...)

The reviews for this portable Lego outing seem to be all over the place (NWR gave it an 8, NL giving it a 4 here), hrm. I'll watch for some more reviews and maybe wait until this hits the bargain bins. My Jurassic Park nostalgia will probably cover up a lot of the flaws, but who knows...we shall see.

This one wasn't really on my radar (Story of Seasons only came out earlier this spring!), but the game look a lot like Fantasy Life and really appears to be a massive labor of love for the Xseed team. They sure know which gems to bring stateside, so I'll certainly give this one a try (probably in 2016)

Hrm...it very well is likely to be a Gen. 7 Pokémon, much like say Munchlax and Lucario as one of the commenters above stated...but I don't think well see Gen. 7 next year. PKMN Z, definitely, but why no Gen. 7??? Simple, if the NX is a hybrid or handheld thats where Gen.7 will get its start (at least I hope they won't repeat the Black and White mistake!), but that wouldn't happen until 2017 at the earliest, a little Pokémon Z to hold us over until Gen. 7 in 2017.

@Qun_Mang So I can't remember exactly when it happened (I want to say late 2012 or some time in 2013), but Reggie remained President of NOA and Iwata became CEO. I don't believe the same thing occurred in Europe, but I could be wrong. It was strange little tale, I'll have to look up and see what the full story behind these events were.

@JaxonH @Yoshis_VGM Thanks for mentioning November 22, as that was the date of Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda a Link Between World's and Mario Party 3DS in 2013. The 22nd of November also happens to be my birthday :P the world goes on. The pain of the day's tragic events (whatever that day maybe), remain in the annuls of history, but life has to go on. 9/11 is still a touchy day in the 15 years post attack, just like (I'd imagine) that 11/22 was a rough day for a decade or so after '63.

But back to the topic.
I think its a little weird to cancel the events, we're all sad, but why cancel the events??? Strange, but I bet Nintendo feels so lost after this sudden loss.

Satoru Iwata, I don't care if you always agreed with him or not. The man was a visionary, he truly cared for the gamers, first and for most, even if you didn't think it. Time to fire up some old DS and Wii games (and maybe some old GB games, from his HAL days...), and "leave luck to heaven".
RIP Iwata-san, thank you for making my childhood. Thank you.

Some people are going to be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed in a years time when the NX is fully announced and it is nothing like they wanted :) Personally I'll look forward to that date :P

As for me...I'll keep the expectations in check...as a HandheldGuru, I'd like to see a new handheld, a semi-HD or HD follow up to the 3DS hitting next year. With a Wii U successor hitting in late 2017 (maybe 2018) and the NX being the ambiguity, with NX referring to the connection the two units will have together. They won't be a hybrid, but they'll be the most interconnected Nintendo Console/Handheld, ever. With many individual games exclusive to the handheld and the console, but with plenty that are cross-buy or connect in some way, shape or form to make this "NX" two separate, but two connected handheld/console experience for Nintendo fans.

This man was truly the greatest video game designer in the history of video gaming. Yokoi's thinking, while always a little bit sideways; it was a fundamental to Nintendo and in fact remains a central part of Nintendo's modern design philosophy: (Lateral Thinking with Withered Technology). I know some don't agree with that mindset anymore, and yes it can be understood, but my god look what a success the GB and later the GBC became, with Yokoi's ideology! Hell that old brick still holds up to this day!!!!! (Even if it is a bit hard to see what is going on...at least on the Original Brick, the GB Light and GBC are sooooooooo much better!)

Once we have confirmation on C-Stick (it sounds like it is pretty likely) controls, then I'll be totally sold! This is the type of game that could really benefit from the extra power of the New 3DS (but it is understandable that they made playable on all 3DS models!)

HandheldGuru97 commented on Talking Point: Metroid Prime: Federation Force...:

@Shiryu Your fist comment is exactly how I feel about this. I AM going to get this game and give it a fair shake, in 2016, when we have the final build in our hands! This looks like a pretty early build and Next Level Games, built one of the BEST (and dare I say one of the prettiest) 3DS games. I'm not going going to bash on a game I haven't seen in person, played or even really know about!!!!!!!

And also I don't think anyone, but again @Shiryu, is talking about the developers. These poor guys at Next Level Games, they have wanted to work on Metroid, FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEARS! And they had their (rather promising, yet strange looking) 2D Metroid, canned by the higher ups at Nintendo back in 2009 (in favor of Luigi's Mansion 2), to have the opportunity to make their own take on Metroid as a spin-off (while Retro makes Prime IV or whatever else they are working on) must of been HUGE for that team up in Canada. They must be gutted, to see all the hate and vile towards them, and THEIR game! The poor guys are probably begging Nintendo to take the Metroid name off of the game and maybe even slip it under the rug and put it out next summer, in hopes that maybe they'll be able to make money back on this game, that sadly maybe 6 people are going to buy! (I know there will be more, but thats all I've seen on this site....)
It really is unbelievable the amount hate and vile I've seen on this site. I know this website went down the toilet back in 2012, but dear lord....GROW UP! Again this an early build, from Next Level. I know you didn't want this Metroid...but at least Nintendo is giving you guys something! And after the hate this game got....we might never see another Metroid game (I hate to say it, but Nintendo would use the poor reaction that this game got as an easy scapegoat to kill the Metroid series)
I had to get that out of my system, I'll grab this one, and Tri-Force Heroes and enjoy (likely) the last great year of 3DS gaming in 2016. Peace!

As a 3DS (with some Wii U and PS4) gamer, I'm very pleased. Not 100%, but a solid 80% pleased. Some great and really weird 3DS titles I couldn't have dreamed of! Metroid (which I just rewatched the trailer) looks a little rough, but its early yet and Level Up Games did make the one of the prettiest game on the 3DS (Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon) so I do have some confidence (unlike the rest of you folks). Mario and Luigi Paper Jam looks...nuts. I'm not going to preorder that one...I need to see more and decided if I need it (which I kinda do), TriForce Heroes looks like an expanded idea on Four Swords and with Online, it could be a sleeper hit. (That I'm so buying, will be hard to brake away from Fallout 4 though...) Then Chibi Robo Zip Lash and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon (and everything Atlus is giving us), its gonna to be an expensive year for my 3DS (which is prefect....for me, not my wallet)
And that isn't even mentioning Fire Emblem Fates! Still need to get Codename STEAM first, (support Intelligent Systems little guy/new IP!)

I only played the demo for Shattered Crystals (the last 3DS Boom game). While I won't jump right on the "Sonic Boom Suxz" bandwagon I wasn't a huge fan. The levels seemed too long and confusing, the Lost World on the other hand, it was...differnt, but enjoyable (which reminds me I need to pick that one up....price is finally plummeting to a decent enough price). I'll keep an eye on this maybe wait until mid or late 2016 to pick it up...and of course keep an eye on the reviews.

@Bolt_Strike I can see where you are coming from, but since most starters are some of the most recognizable Pokémon out there, it is fully understand on GF and Nintendo's part. With Six generations of starters, thats 18 Pokemon (and you can't just say, "well scrap the 2nd, 4th and 5th generations, because they're weakest generation(s)" or whatever other excuse you have. You run the risk of alienating fans if you went that route (like me, Totodile represent!) Now looking here at Bulbapedia (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Player_character) the largest roster for a PMD games is 19 (Sky) and not including all 3 variations of PDM on WiiWare as one game which would thus creating a massive roster (and the largest by and far). The problem that we get when hitting nearly 20+ Pokemon is simply the fact that there are too many, its overwhelming. Now I know its 20 out of 720(!!!!), but with all Pokes included you are going to be able to find all of these common and slightly lesser (but equally loved) Pokemon pretty early in the game (I'd assume). Pikachu gets an automatic in for being the franchise mascot, Riolu is the baby Poke of one of the more popular Gen. IV Pokes (who also happens to be in Smash...) Lucario. That puts us at 20 Starters. 20 Thats quite a bit so if GF doesn't want to add anymore...yes its lazy and yes its kinda understandable too. In my opinion I'm just glad Totodile is back, sure Skitty, Mewoth or maybe even Eevee would've been great all along with some of those other 2nd tier Pokemon, but GF will get pass from me...for now. (Now if was only 5 Pokes like GtI...we'd have a problem....)
(Damn...that was a long essay on the Theory of Starter Picking :P)

Nailed it, but allow me to stick my two cents on before I go. I live in Utah (COMBO BREAKER!) and I think last year we had like maybe one Best Buy do the Smash Event. So in all honesty while I was hyped, I kinda expect disappointment as video game fan in SLC, its not a huge city by any stretch of the imagination, but we could get the bone thrown our way occasionally!!! So yes, while a little disappointing, I will live. And who knows??? Maybe if this one is a huge success in those 8 areas, maybe we'll see a much larger one next year. HandheldGuru97 commented on Nintendo's E3 Focus to Reportedly be on Wii U ...:

Just like they said they would! As much as the Wii U need some more stuff to fluff up the end of the year now that Zelda is (likely) a Spring 2016 game, but the 3DS needs a push into early next year. As much as many people would like to think (and hope) that the NX will be a Wii U successor I have feeling the NX is a handheld and that the next console will be announced shortly after the NX is relived to be a handheld (probably late 2016, maybe early 2017). The 3DS has reached saturation, and with some more Pokemon, a 3D Land sequel, maybe a...Metroid or F-Zero to spur necessary hyper-hype-mode and perhaps another surprise or two, the 3DS can make to 2017. The Wii U...even though it isn't selling great and is really, really in trouble when it comes to games it could (only if Nintendo keeps pushing through) make it to 2018. But we shall see....we shall see what happens, because in all honesty, I haven't a clue what comes next.
