You don't have to tell me twice. I've never had much experience with Starfox but I'll still be buying on day 1. I've literally never bought a Nintendo game and come away disappointed so there's no reason for me to dis-trust this one
I'll buy it if the price ever comes down. There's quite a few games right now that I want that are coming later this year and I don't want to spend $40 on a game I already own.

No worries here. Starfox will have little competition for 3DS owner's dollars when it comes out. Just like OOT, it's going to sell no matter what because of the name recognition and the lack of competition. It doesn't hurt that the game should be very good.
Nintendo is stating the obvious. They're not holding us ransom. If you don't buy into a series, they don't make any more of that series. It's all dollars and cents. It makes no sense to make something that is a proven failure on the system.

It would be like Sony saying, you want this 50 inch TV? Well you better by this 24 inch one. No, you don't do it.
Star Fox is popular, just make the sequel and stop being cheap.
No, it would be like Sony saying if you don't buy a PS Vita then we may never make a PS Vita 2 because if there is no demand for the PS Vita then putting even more resources into something that doesn't make us lots of money is dumb.
Nintendo doesn't take risks. That's what you bought into when you bought a 3DS. I'm not happy about how Nintendo does things at times too but I take the good with the bad and hope for the best. I'm going to get Star Fox because there aren't many options on the platform right now. That's my main beef with Nintendo.
I'm not gonna pay $40 for a game I don't want, promises or no.
this. sorry, but i've learned my lesson here with OoT 3D, which still sits unbeaten in my 3DS — i'm just not ready to play it again right now. i've played it enough over the years, i know the story backwards and forwards, inside and out. i know every trick and shortcut in the game like the back of my hand... i've really gotta be back in the mood to play it again.
if it were a brand new Star Fox game, i'd be all over it... but no. not at full price. :3

I agree with Mickeymac. This kind of makes me want to not buy the game. I already own the N64+VC versions and this looks to be as much of a "remake" as OoT was (which is to say, the same game with better graphics and some tweaks), but I still had some minor interest. If you make a new Star Fox game, I'll buy it and probably won't think twice about it. Holding new content for ransom won't make me buy something of questionable value.
