It's an alright review, but I have to object to the "Sonic purists might object to taking their time in the side-on sections" remark. The older games had plenty of slower, actual platforming segments.
It smacks of "no one in the sonic fandom can agree on anything" attitude that I'm tired of. Not to say you use it, and I hope you don't actually believe that, but it seems like everywhere I turn I hear something like that.
I for one agree. I haven't seen a single WiiWare, DSiWare or VC commercial anywhere other than me actually looking for it. The only people on my entire campus who know about the Bit.Trip series are because I showed it to them. that's not exactly a great job they're doing.
But there's just so much they could stand to improve on: *Greatest hits *Price drops both for DL games or discs *Having more than one "sale" a year *Demos *A menu that can be navigated easily *Nintendo Channel coming pre-installed *More fair publicity on the Nintendo Channel *Actually using the opt-in marketing thing on the Nintendo Channel, and possibly making it an opt-out thing instead
so I've beaten the first level of fate, and it seems... different...
It seems so far to be a lot freer and a lot less rhythmic. It's nice and great and all, but it doesn't seem to fit as much as 1,2 and 4 did. Void had a similar problem to me. But maybe I just haven't gotten far enough in either.
BEAT and RUNNER are my favorite in the series so far. I've gotten farthest in them, I prefer their mechanics, and I think they have the best music.
to be honest, I haven't finished any of the games yet. I've gotten halfway through the third part of BEAT and RUNNER, but I'm still deep in the second levels of CORE and VOID.
Hey, even us Dinobot fans didn't expect he'd win. Please tell me you aren't one of those Beast Wars haters though. If not for Beast Wars, there wouldn't even be a Botcon. Plus, Dinobot is a more complete character.
But, that's enough of a derail. More on the subject of DoA: Breasts.
It seems to me that both this and the Cave Story competition had the answers readily availible on a certain Wiki. Having seen those pages before participating, I can't help but wish the answers were removed in the intervening time.
Hopefully I can win a competition, just this once, since I'd been waiting on this game since it was announced for Wiiware, but don't have the money right now to get it.
Well, isn't it the same price as the other Art Style/Bit Generations games? And "Light Trax" isn't that unheard of, it's one of the many bitGenerations games that Art Style is based off of. I was waiting for this one more than the rest, so I'll pick it up when I have money.
Also, the Metal Torrent review link is broken. Remove the "[/Url" part.
I'm actually quite stunned we had sales. I thought that was something everyone else in the world did.
I've already got the first 4 in some form. I'd get Shining Force, but I've already beaten it and want to play the remade game once I figure out how to do it on a DSi.
other than that, this is a somewhat good deal. Hopefully nintendo will bring tidings of good games/deals more often.
@SuperSmashBros.Fan1999: you really need to stop freaking out/making assumptions about what will and won't come to the VC.
I'd like a 2D Sonic collection of: Sonic 1-3 & K Sonic CD Knuckles Chaotix Tails Adventure Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine Ristar Sonic Advance 1-3 Sonic Battle
those 13 games combined would make my buy them all again (especially cause I'm missing 3 of them...). But it'll never happen.
@Link-Hero: you can't just slap a price on something that's still at rumor status. At E3, they'd said it wouldn't be all to expensive, and would even work with the XBox 360s that people already have.
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/36466/Natal-launch-details-leak-from-secret-Microsoft-tour Now rumors and releases are suggesting that the Natal could retail for $80 or LESS. Wiimote + Nunchuck + Motionplus = $80. And that's not including a classic controller, balance board, zapper, or wheel, all of which this could mimic the functions of. Best not to speculate until we've got some fact.
Some of the releases for later this month are also known, such as the next Bit Trip. I thought this would be a big month, but I'm also surprised by how many releases there are. I think this must be a fire sale before christmas.
I'mma let you finish, skywake, and no offense to you, but I'd already posted that a week ago in a forum that corbie elected to lock before either understanding or read fully, it seems.
bulbanews.bulbagarden.net has a running list of all pokemon game special events, as well as releases for the consoles and games needed to play them.
I think "everybody gather round" would be the new "laaaaaa lala la lalalala la katamari damacy" if nintendo actually gave publicity to its online service.
It may have some purpose, but here's the sad truth: it's Nintendo's Sixth gaming handheld in seven years and seventh gaming handheld in nine years.
Here's the Rundown: DSi LL/XL - 2009 - launched: Japan, November 21 DSi - 2008 - launched: Japan, November 1 DS lite - 2006 - launched: Japan, March 2 GB Micro - 2005 - launched: Japan, September 13 DS (reg.) - 2004 - launched: North America, November 21 GBA SP - 2003 - launched: Japan, February 14 GBA (reg.) - 2001 - launched: Japan, March 21
Of course, this doesn't include the various limited editions (Diamond and Pearl, Phantom Hourglass) or extra color options that are released every few months.
Yes, technology improves, but they've already strangled their own sales (see - Game Boy Micro, DSi) by flooding the market with incremental upgrades. If they're indeed going towards differing bases, at least release multiple choices at the same time (DSi and DSi LL for example) to give people options without surprising them by making their most recent purchase out of date in a few months.
@Egg_meister, @cheetahman91 It's a 1 point difference on a decades old game. CALM DOWN. This is why reviewers get pissed off - people overreacting just cause they liked a game more than the reviewers. There's even been people arguing about IGN giving a 0.1 difference between scores on entirely different games.
If you like a game, you're going to buy it none the less. Don't overreact cause someone had a different opinion than you on a game or console.
Also, some Wii games just aren't that good. Look at the score aggregates. We get less top tier games according to more reviews than just IGN.

@james: I was kinda kidding.
The capitalized letters have the anagram "AT LAST" with an extra T and S.
Re: Gaijin Games Releases BIT.TRIP Teaser
"various sites". Whoever could've first mentioned it on this site?
"life is nothing. simply nothing."
It'll be a blending of the playstyles of the first 5 games.
Also, Bit.Trips facebook page actually links back to THIS site for the announcement of this teaser.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th November 2010 (North America)
Wait... another demo? I thought they were just doing one group for the whole year, like last time.
I'm glad to see Nintendo isn't dropping the ball.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd November 2010 (North America)
I'll be getting the AYIM demo.
You know, generally I tend to defend what are sensible business practices, but I really don't see why they don't just keep the demos up.

lucky bastard.

I'm just glad to finally have a large selection of fighting games on a handheld I will eventually own.
Also, @Irken: DINOBOT SUPERIOR.

I'd like a 2D Sonic collection of:
Sonic 1-3 & K
Sonic CD
Knuckles Chaotix
Tails Adventure
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Ristar
Sonic Advance 1-3
Sonic Battle
those 13 games combined would make my buy them all again (especially cause I'm missing 3 of them...). But it'll never happen.
Re: Yet Another Sonic Collection Inbound - This Time For DS
You have the option of playing S3&K and Knuckles in Sonic 2.
Sonic collections - the new Street Fighter 2...

sticking with GTA.
V. D. Dev? Seriously? A character name hasn't made me laugh as much since Sackboy.

indeed it does, Objection_Blaster:
