Sounds like to me that Nintendo was kinda forced to announce backwards compatibility now, so software sales won't suffer over the holidays as badly. Kinda sounds like a "Don't worry, you can play all your games on the next system. Please keep buying games!" It's fully expected that hardware sales would be tappering off now(It's been happenning for awhile), but finally software sales are starting to suffer, too, so Nintendo is trying to keep software selling until they are ready to show off whatever they've been working on for their next system.
@greengecko007 It's actually 100 boxes, but your other points still stand.
How much storage space is actually taken up by those 3000 pokemon, though? I'm thinking a couple MB at the worst, probably less. Paying 5 bucks for that tiny speck of disk space, is just laughable, really.
I read Pikmin 2 on the eshop... then I read Europe.
I'm kicking myself for selling that game back years ago. It's hard to find nowadays, and it's pretty expensive to boot. Was hoping I could at least get a eshop release at some point, as it'd be cheaper than buying the game used. Oh well.
I'd always choose a higher framerate over better graphics. It's about the gameplay. The higher the framerate, the more responsive the controls feel, the quicker and easier you can react to things. On the PC, I'll always turn down the graphics settings or lower the resolution to get a good framerate. It's easier on the eyes, too.
Interesting. Just looking at the video, this looks like it works a lot like Game Maker (Or at least the version of that I played around with a lot 5 to 10 years ago). Even down to the coding language you write in that program, it looks a lot like GML from Game Maker. You have a big list of resources on the right, like GM, with sprites, sounds, backgrounds, objects, and room. You code different objects and place them into a room. Looks like it'll be pretty easy to use because of all that.
Since Game Maker never got support for the Wii U, it's nice to have something that looks similar to it finally support it.
So, they'll release a chibi-robo game that's nothing like the previous , and tell us "well, you better buy this if you ever wanna see another chibi-robo!"
I just don't get the need to go mainstream.Just keep making the game that your niche audience likes, and keep your budget lower to account for that.
This is the same complaint I have for the Pikmin series, in a way. Nintendo has a whole friggin internal team, just making pikmin games, pumping so much money into every game in the series, so much production value that you'd see in a Mario or Zelda main series game, constantly changing stuff to try to make it for a 'wider audience", and it only sells 1 million or so copies. Why can't they just realize "Well, this is a quirky rts game that won't appeal to everyone, let's just cut our budget back, and develop a game that the niche audience that bought the past games would like."
Sorry, just me rambling on about AAA development BS.
anyone finished the download yet? I know eshop games 'install' after they finish, where they basically get uncompressed to thier full size. What's the full size of the pre-downloaded game after you finish? That might explain the 12GB download and the eshop saying you need 15GB.
I work a graveyard shift yob, and the game is releasing on one of my off nights, so HELL YES!
I agree with @Kaze_Memaryu kinda, though. This really shouldn't affect most people, except the impatient ones, or ones like me that would normally be awake at that time anyway.

Re: Monster Jam: Crush It! Arrives on Halloween, Even Though They're Not Actual Monsters
I might have been interested if it had some kind of destruction mode, where you try to cause the most dollars in damage in a area.
I mean, come on? What else are you suppose to do with monster trucks, than destroy everything?
Re: Nintendo Aims to Flush Out the Best Players in the Next Splatoon 2 Splatfest
Am I the only one that doesn't put his toilet paper on the roller? It's so much easier to just pick up a roll and take off what you need.
Re: Get Ready for a Nintendo Direct on 13th September
I'm expecting Ultra Sun and Moon to be in it, since we seem to know less about that game than the mysterious Switch Pokemon Game they're working on.

Re: Reggie Confirmed For On-Stage Appearance At The Game Awards 2016
It looks like the Reggie doll that was used in the robot chicken segments of the nintendo e3 digital event a few years back.
I guess they just let him keep that after they filmed those segments?

Re: Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter Campaign Smashes Its Funding Goal In Less Than An Hour
Got the $47 one over here (for the soundtrack/retro manual/art book)
Hope they do well enough on this, that they can keep making more games, which is what they want to end up doing.
Re: Sony Pictures Is In Negotiations With Nintendo To Make A Super Mario Movie
I thought it coulsn't get any worse with that announcement of a Tetris movie. Apparently I was wrong :/
@ Punished_Boss_84
Heh, Sony announces the movie at E3, and the very next day Nintendo says "lol nevermind".

Re: New Nintendo Direct Airing 5th November
For SMash, All I really need is pre-downloading the game to be ready, or at least a solid date on when we can pre-download the game.
They'll probably say the date the mk8 dlc is coming out, and reveal another track or two with a trailer.
Other than that, not having any expectations. I wanna be suprised with whatever they have here.

Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming In November, Features Zelda, F-Zero And Animal Crossing
Don't give a hoot about the new characters, but I'm excited to see the new courses. Why didn't they show any of those off?
