Is there seriously a Minecraft: Xbox One Edition? I agree that 1st party titles are the most important, as they are the only ones guaranteed not to be ported. Remember how many 3rd party exclusives the XBox 360 and Gamecube had? Remember how many of them stayed exclusive? But the Gamecube still offered dozens of Nintendo's own games.
None of the games I want are cheaper at retail, but I agree that download prices are too expensive. Even eshop exclusives are priced similarly to retail games. I don't expect many downloads of Shin Megami Tensei IV, a game that costs $10 more than any other 3DS title and comes without the retail version's music CD and guidebook.
I think I would have called the remake Star Fox: Lylat Wars. Biohazard is the better name. Everything related to 3DS has a different name in U.S. and U.K, and it's annoying. I think I've also complained about the needless differences in Mario Kart Wii and 7. No mention of Professor Layton? We in North America get the worst names for all his games, except Unwound Future. It must be the tradeoff for Europe's lame box art.
Although some of your complaints-mainly the MIDI-seem like you're clutching at straws, I ultimately agree that this is a lazy remake. I believe this may be the 1st Zelda remake to include no new content over the original. The cut dungeons would be the most obvious inclusions, and Nintendo's reasoning in this regard is poor. What difference does it make if the dungeons are nothing new when this entire game is nothing new? In spite of all this, I agree with the decision to remake the Wind Waker. The original isn't playable on the WiiU, making this a great opportunity for those who missed out 10 years ago.
I don't think region locking benefits localization much. Xenoblade received such a limited print run here that it almost would have been better to import a region free version.
I agree that the sudden concern over region locking is strange, but I'm in favor of region freedom. The best arguments have already been used, but I have one criticism left regarding your "region freedom hurts sales" argument. You say you used to import all the time. Do you really think publishers cared less about sales back then?
I don't know any of the technical differences between Brawl and Melee, but they feel very different and I slightly prefer the feel of melee. This difference is insignificant to me and I ultimately think Brawl is better.
"And, quite honestly, those dungeons we removed we used in other games so we can't use them in this version!" But this is a remake. All the dungeons have been used before.
I didn't like Super Mario 3D Land, but a sequel is only to be expected. Why did it take this long to bring back 4 unique characters? I would have loved it in NSMBW/NSMBU! Ditto on "I thought this was a 3DS game because it's called 3D."
I was under the impression that DK64 was well received at the time of its release, but he's probably right. I noticed a similar progression going from Mario 64, to Sunshine, to finally Galaxy.
I'm not interested in The Last of Us because of what @WaveBoy comment #216 said. But how do you guys know how bad or good the game is? I'm sure most non-reviewers haven't played it.
Honestly, we can't effectively debate this because none of us have played The Last of Us. Personally, I have trouble believing The Last of Us "sets a standard," is "a game changer in what the medium can deliver in terms of narrative," or is otherwise the greatest game of the generation when almost a dozen games this generation claim to have done that. The Last of Us isn't even the first game this year to receive this kind of praise! @Yorumi The funny thing is that Etrian Odyssey does what you're describing, and people say the series has crap stories.

Re: Soapbox: When It Comes To Software Support, The Grass Isn't Always Greener
Nintendo's only had bad 3rd party ports since the Wii. 3rd party games used to be good, even when they weren't exclusive.

Re: Nintendo Reveals The 2013 Club Nintendo Elite Rewards
2 great Platinum rewards this year, and I didn't qualify for either?! XDJCGHDFJKYGH
I don't think I will pick a gold reward.
Re: Calm Night of Snowfall Turns To Crowdsourcing To Fund Wii U Version
Looks nice. I'll check it out if it ever comes to WiiU.

Re: Feature: When it Comes to Games, What's in a Name?
@Wheels2050 Yes, I find Layton's PAL box art to be boring.
Re: Feature: When it Comes to Games, What's in a Name?
@KodyWB-98 3 games is still quite a bit. Diabolical Box is alright, but Last Specter is a horrible title compared to its international equivalents.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th July (North America)
Why is Shin Megami Tensei $50 on the eshop?
Re: Soapbox: Why We Should Expect More From The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
@pixypixl Yes, that is exactly how I feel about the music!

Re: Investment Expert Feels Nintendo Earnings Miss Will Trigger Multi-Platform Approach
We'll sooner see Littlebig Planet and Banjo Kazooie released for iPad. And like @AJSjedi said, this news isn't the reason I visit Nintendolife.
Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue
@Chikiro I didn't know that. That is quite inane.
Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue
Most of my foreign games were ones I bought while on vacation. Buying from another region doesn't necessarily involve exorbitant shipping costs.

Re: New Steel / Ghost Type Pokémon, Honedge, Revealed
Are those screenshots what swords dance looks like? It's nicer than the previous game's animation.
Re: Video: This Shin Megami Tensei IV Limited Edition Set is a Thing of Beauty
@HereticDogma I could have sworn Best Buy had something too, but it looks like I was mistaken.
Re: Video: This Shin Megami Tensei IV Limited Edition Set is a Thing of Beauty
This does look very nice, but I will not be preordering it because I don't want to encourage the retailer exclusive game content.
Re: Satoru Iwata - "There Are Some Reasons Behind" Region Locking
This is not a very believable excuse, as Nintendo has already been successful with region free consoles.
Re: New Loveplus+ Heading To 3DS in Japan
@SynchroMax It's a strange dating sim.

What a strange game.

@Daggo Level-5 is apparently losing out big time by not localizing Inazuma 11.
Re: Weirdness: Level-5's Favourite Character Poll Doesn't Go to Plan
Anyone care to explain who those 10 characters are? I can't read Japanese nor have I played the games they're in.
Re: Review: New Super Luigi U (Wii U)
Apart from invincibility, does Nabbit play identical to Luigi?
Re: You Can Now Grab a Copy of Soul Saga on Wii U For Only $15
Guys, nobody EVER said this game would be $1 on steam. The creator said he wants to charge $20. And @LDXD's comment is a sarcastic one.

Re: Not All Super Smash Bros. Characters Will Make The Leap To Wii U And 3DS
I don't want them to take out anyone, but I know this isn't happening.
Re: Kingdom Hearts III Highly Unlikely To Appear On Wii U
I think I'll give up on the series if they keep playing hard to get.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Curious Decision to Monetise StreetPass
I don't think there's enough demand to charge for streetpass.
Re: Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe Wants To Make Tingle Popular In The West
I also want Tingle to be popular in the west, but it's not going to happen if he's not in any games.

Re: Review: Phantasy Star II (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)
This game is worse than the first Phantasy Star in almost every way.
Re: Nintendo - Inclusion of Peach in Super Mario 3D World to Encourage More Players

I don't know, it seems too similar to Mario Kart Wii.
