Re: Rumour: Sounds Like Football Manager Will Finally Be Calling The Shots On Switch

tyepye

I hope that it will be FM Touch that is released on Switch and if that's the case it means I can all but get rid of my iPad which is all I use it for at the mo.

My only issue with it would be how it would translate to the smaller screen of the switch for the touch interface.

Smaller screen does make me think that it might be the mobile version that gets ported over.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry on the 'Custom' Merits of FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch

Have bought FIFA most years on Xbox. Still have my Xbox One sitting under my TV but this year I went for the Switch version. The handheld factor was key for me as I can play while the wife watches TV.

Yes it would be nice to have all the features of the other versions, and I hope next year's version ups the ante. But FIFA 18 on the Switch is a great FIFA game that gets the core aspects bang on and I am happy I have it.

I played it with my brother last night and once he got used to using the Joycons (no pro controller here) he said it played just as good.

Re: Overcooked Is Browning Nicely In The Oven For Switch Release This Week

Great game. Got this on Xbox One recently after seeing it on Go 8 Bit on Dave. Was hoping to get it on Switch but as I didn't know the release date at the time and was on sale on Xbox had to dip in early.

My wife and I have a blast playing it, and plenty of shouting matches over it it's hilarious and frustrating all at the same time. Best played multiplayer though.

Completed it just the other day now playing the couple of expansion packs.

Buy it if you haven't already.

Re: First Impressions: A New Style of Tactical Gaming in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

tyepye

Was looking forward to this before the announcement.

After the announcement it was a day one purchase for me. Mario X-COM is too good to pass on.

When I saw UbiStore was doing 20% for 100 UbiPoints making the game £35.99 I preordered straight away. Bring on the end of August

Also the gameplay looks perfect for dipping in and out of for short bursts, which will suit my gaming habbits at the moment perfectly.

Re: Delivery Issues Spoil Nintendo Switch Launch Day for Unlucky UK Buyers

tyepye

Mine finally arrived this morning from Nintendo Store UK. It was sent via Royal Mail tracked 48hr.....So much for next day delivery. You'd think they'd use a next day service.

Haven't had any response to my emails saying how disappointed I am with their service. Hopefully will here something in Monday.

On Reddit people have said they have had a 5% refund or eshop credit (£14) would be happy with that outcome.

Re: Poll: Merry Switchmas - Has the Nintendo Switch Launch Got You In a Festive Spirit?

tyepye

Got screwed over by Nintendo stores non delivery. How can they fail so badly at delivering their own product. Other retailers managed it.

Also no idea who it is actually being delivered by. Reports online say some have been delivered by Hermes but the parcel had a royal mail sticker on it. Others have been fulfilled by Royal Mail.

Whoever will finally deliver it, it's been a right cock up.

All I can do is stare at my copy of BOTW and lick it while weeping because it tastes so bad.

Re: Video: Nintendo Pushes The Social Play Angle With Switch Super Bowl Commercial

tyepye

Probably analysing too much but whoever decided on the Imagine Dragon's track was very good.

Lyrics are perfect to go with the idea of Switch being the new way to game, and Nintendo wanting to change from the Wii U failure.

"First things first, I'm a say all the words inside my head
I'm fired up and tired of the way that things have been"

Could reference failure of Wii U as major gaming platform, or just current consoles in general.

"Second thing second, Don't you tell me what you think that I can be, I'm the one at the sail, I'm the master of my sea"

Referencing that Nintendo do what they want and don't conform to normal console standards e.g. Xbox/PS

"Last things last, By the grace of the fire and the flames, You're the face of the future, the blood in my veins"

Switch (Portable and home console) being the future of gaming.

and the obvious one the chorus suggesting it's time to believe in Nintendo again as a major gaming platform with the Switch!

All in all good stuff!

Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details

tyepye

I don't mind paying for online services but it has to be a big improvement over what they have at the moment and also priced righ.

This seems a bit more like EA Access rather than Xbox Live. Somewhere in the region of £15-£20 a year would be good price. But after the price of all the other Switch stuff it'll probably be £30-£40, but I hope not.

Will be interesting to see if you rent any NES/SNES game, whether it's a selection of say 10 games and you pick one or Nintendo just pick one game from NES/SNES library and you rent that.

Hopefully the first option and not the last.

Also would this eventually get expanded to all VC games? that would be good.

Time will tell, but hopefully Nintendo don't muck it up.....You can never be too sure when it comes to them though.

Re: Video: Here's What Pokémon GO Looks Like in the Real World

tyepye

Maybe people should not condemn a game before they have actually played it?

Been playing this on and off today after downloading the apk for my phone, and having been enjoying it. The excitement at the moment comes in catching the Pokemon, finding your favourites. Leveling up your Pokemon and evolving them.

You don't have to pay to get pokeballs or other items if you don't want to. The Pokestops give you plenty of pokeballs 3-4 each time and they refresh quite regularly. You also get various upgrades as you level up.

I haven't gotten to gyms yet as I have only just got to level 5 but looks like you can capture them and try and battle to keep them. Looking forward to that bit.

It's fun to see what is around my local village and town where I live and the city I work in. Plenty of gyms to go to, Pokestops to pick up items and Pokemon to catch.

You get to take your Pokemon adventure into the real world, maybe a lot of people see that as a negative?

I say don't knock it 'till you've tried it, this game is good fun.

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo 64

100% my favourite Nintendo Console. Didn't have one at the time but all my close friends did so got plenty of game time.
Used to have N64 sleepovers, Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Smash Bros. so many games to play together.

Favourite game has to be Jet Force Gemini. Also love F Zero X.

Picked one up in my late teens and still play it every now and again when I get the time.

Re: Hardware Classics: Game Boy Pocket

tyepye

Got the Red Gameboy pocket for my birthday back in the day with Pokemon Red - not sure how old I was now.

Loved it and played for hours. Also used to nick my brothers copy of Mario Land Six Golden Coins. He had an original Gameboy yellow and got Pokemon Blue when I got my Red.
