While I personally don't care for the style, it has every right to exist.
I just hate how media about killing dozens if not hundreds of human beings is okay, but anything involving sexuality is considered by many to be off limits. All of it should be permitted.
I'm with daveh30. The business failed slowly and steadily, surely the employees saw it coming. There are other jobs out there. Yes it sucks for anyone to lose their job, but what should daveh30 have done? Gone in and gave them all hugs?
@unrandomsam Uh, no, that isn't what that word means. Fluid means it isn't erratic or jerky, and a steady 30 fits perfectly to that. 60 frames may be even smoother, but that is not the definition of fluid.
@Kyoto The only time I've seen any frame rate drop is one time when on an island in the open sea, and there were five computer ships blasting away at each other... and it never chugged, just dropped a little.
@rjejr It is really weird at first, but instead of drifting it uses KERS on certain turns where you tap the gas to build up boost. It's a creative way to make a boost system using F1 concepts... seeing as those cars don't really spend much time drifting.
@unrandomsam Today's games are incredibly complex, beyond what hours of testing can account for. There is only so much Ubisoft can do in that regard, especially when they are making games on multiple consoles. You know what shows they care about quality? They took the time and effort to patch the game, despite it selling horrendously.
While unlikely, it is possible for the consumer to not know the release date, and just see it on a store shelf. Nintendo distributing items to shops is all contract based. Stuff about pricing, distribition, release dates, etc. A customer buying a game has no written agreement with Nintendo, and therefore you cannot fairly punish them. Ask them to return the game, sure. But anything more is unreasonable.
Hope this gets shutdown. I have no idea how someone can think they are allowed to use Nintendos property without permission, for profit or not. Pathetic.
Pokemon Gold and Silver had built in cartridge clocks first, which is much more impressive given that they are Gameboy titles. Just sayin'. Not sure if any games beat them to it...
I think that to a degree, having an open world game like this, issues such as frame rate or draw distance are inevitable. It's just a matter of pushing the hardware a bit too hard. Patches can't quite solve everything.
Anyhow, I'll still buy this immediately Love me some Lego City!
While Factor 5 was responsible for most of the Star Wars games I loved... 1313 looked awesome. Not necessarily the gameplay, but the concept of it was just so intriguing. I really hope it doesn't get dissolved.
Oh geez. A system launch is always a bit of a waiting game. It's always been that way, for every single console ever. Big rush of games, then a big pause. Developers either want to hit launch day, or they are generally a fair time after that. Often until the next holiday season, because that's when the money comes rolling in.
Buying a console on launch day and expecting anything different is just a mix of anticipation and delusion.
Debating getting this at a later date. Lego City and Most Wanted are taking priority, since I played Tri on the Wii for hundreds upon hundreds of hours. We'll see how long I can resist.
No they are not too expensive. First, taking into consideration inflation, games have been more expensive in the past, and I would argue that for the most part current games offer much more involving or larger experiences. They certainly take much more money to be created these days. Second, gaming as a hobby is in many cases one of the most cost efficient forms of entertainment when it comes to dollar per hour. Third, can't afford the games brand new? Wait for a sale, or skip a couple. Gaming is a luxury, after all.
I think the Wii U will be great for multiple controller variations in gaming. The flaw with the classic controller was that you had to buy it separately from the system, so devs often didn't utilize it when the should've (due to the inherently smaller install base over wiimote). BUT, while the WiiU (likely) won't come with a wiimote, everybody and their grandma owns a wiimote as it is, so the system effectively has dual analog (on the game pad) and motion controls from the 'mote covered!
Actually my favourite Mario game. It was the first one I felt compelled to 100%, and even then I would come back to my complete file just to jump around and look at the scenery. This game has atmosphere oozing from it's pores.

Re: Review: Yoshi's New Island (3DS)
@spn-x 5/10 doesn't mean really bad though. It's right in the middle of good and bad.
Expected a score like this just from Artoons past work, but still going to get it, as it looks enjoyable enough.

Re: Interview: Codemasters - F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition
Played this toooons at a friends house on PS3 when it came out, and still do. Great game. But the lack of online is a bit depressing.

You can't really punish the consumer, when it is the retailer who is instructed to sell a game on a specific date and no sooner.
Re: Reaction: Nintendo Reminds Us of the Wii's Glory Days With Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club
@JaxonH Yeah but depending on how often some games like to autosave, the USB drive could reach its limit relatively quick.
