Re: Virtual Console Reviews - Best of 2008

@ Bahamut ZERO: Did you play Skies of Arcadia (Legends), the whole Tales of - series, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Baldur's Gate, the Persona series, the Elder Scrolls series, Mass Effect, the Pokemon series, the Phantasy Star series, the Breath of Fire series, Golden Sun I & II, Grandia II, the Fallout series, Diablo I & II, Fable I & II, ........ ?

If yes, then i understand your comment "Square has a monopoly on RPGs" less than before.

@ Digiki: The gameplay of SMRPG is different and not so typical for the genre, so you can't compare it so easily with other RPGs. I think that is the main reason for your disaffirmation.

Re: Virtual Console Reviews - Best of 2008

ness

@ Mickeymac: "I doubt we'll see Yoshi's Island and Majora's Mask this year, due to emulation difficulties"

Yoshi's Island and emulation difficulties?

@ MetroidMedia: Super Smash. Bros. comes out this month in Japan, so it shouldn't take so long to get to America and Europe.

Re: Virtual Console Reviews - Best of 2008

@ Bahamut ZERO "Square has a monopoly on RPGs.":

You don't play many RPGs, or?

@ Super Mario RPG: I don't think it is overrated. I just think some people complain about it because there are other RPGs they like more, but that don't have to mean that SMRPG isn't great.

@ Stuffgamer1: "I've beaten all 8 Mega Man games before this, but can't even beat (or get to) a single level boss in Mega Man 9."

What? Not even on the standard difficulty level? Maybe you get a little bit old^^.
I thought it is one of the easier classic Mega Man games.

Wow, and i beat the game on the hardest difficulty level. Am i that good?^^

Re: WiiWare World - Best of 2008

Absolute great list, and i have all of them =).

My (Top 6) list would be nearly the same:

6.: LostWinds
4.: Art Style - Orbient / MaBoShi
3.: Toki Tori
1. Mega Man 9 / World of Goo

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - January 2009

ness

It's sad to read that some members dislike Majora's Mask because it did something different than before =(.

If everybody would think so, the Zelda series would never develop further, so hopefully after the great, but in some way old Twilight Princess, the developers try something new like they did for example with Majora's Mask.

Re: Review: Art Style: Cubello (WiiWare)

ness

Flame people? Fanboy? Huh?

I just want to make clear that your negative points are not that negative because either your explanation is weird or it is the intention of the game or the genre to do so.

And to say that your comment was childish and provoking is rather an "attack" to your text than to your person.

Re: Review: Art Style: Cubello (WiiWare)

ness

@ absen's deleted text: Your whole comment is still very childish and provoking.

If you read reviews (not just the score), you should have known what the game is all about. And i still ask myself if you really played the game when i have to read:

"The game doesn't even make creative use of the Wii controller; you might as well be using a mouse or standard controller."

A standard controller? How should that function?

Another point: Do you know Tetris? It is normal in a Puzzle-game that (with the time) the action gets faster, and also the game mechanics of Tetris isn't much more different than the game mechanics of Cubello, so i don't understand why you complain about the gameplay. This is a puzzle game, and if you play it right you have fun, but i think you don't even try to understand Cubello.

"Basically you could just sit there and mash the A button over and over again and sometimes win and sometimes not."

This is also so ridiculous that it proves that you don't play the game.

Re: Review: Art Style: Cubello (WiiWare)

ness

@ absen and the deleted text: "As simple as it is, it took ages for me to understand what the actual point was."

It took ages to understand? Did we play the same game?

And maybe you should read some reviews before you buy games .

@ absen's deleted "Review": The first paragraph says nothing about the game, the third paragraph says nothing about the game, and even the second paragraph says next to nothing about the game, so the whole comment is ridiculous.

Re: Art Style Continues on DSiWare

ness

The whole Art Style series is awesome, and i will definitively buy these two games and the WarioWare game at the start of DSiWare here in Europe =).

@ RADE: They are not good, they are great!^^

Re: EU WiiWare Update: World Of Goo And Lots More!

ness

@ thewiirocks (if you read this): Now i have a chance to play Orbient, and again i have to say i cannot see that any game mechanics changes in comparison to Orbital. It's still the same gameplay, unless that the graphics and sounds are better.

And it is still great .

@ "More than $20...if you find anywhere with a copy. Its retail price was ÂĄ2000 which means places like Play-Asia will charge $25 and there there is shipping which tends to be about $3."

In the end Play-Asia sold the games for around 10$ and less.

Re: EU WiiWare Update: World Of Goo And Lots More!

ness

Fantastic update, i will download World of Goo and Orbient later this day =).

@ Bass X0: Fun! Fun! Minigolf, Cave Story, Gradius Rebirth and Swords & Soldiers are all games to look forward to and which should be released in the first quarter of 2009.

Re: Club Nintendo Comes To North America

I can remember at the old Nintendo website there was a text behind every VC game you bought, which said that you will get stars for them in the future, but nothing happened in that way =(.

And now i see that America gets this feature =(.
(I know, just for some games.)

@ Hilanderous: Hanafuda is a great game, especially on Clubhouse Games/42 All-Time Classics, but it is not easy to understand^^.

Re: World of Goo Makes PC World's Holiday Best List

ness

"These developers (all two of them) better never make a game ever again because anything else will be a disappointment."

If every developer had followed this advice in the past we would have missed some of the best games of all time .

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Space Invaders Get Even & Pit Crew Panic!

ness

@ WiiWare-World: Is there the possibility that you will integrate the function that everybody can rate WiiWare games? Like it is at vc-reviews.com.

@ Olimar_91: You have to download three optional DLC packs for 500 points each to get the full game. So you need 2000 points.

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

ness

"Yeah because the rabid nintendo fanboy knows more about porting a game from a stronger console to a weaker console then the company who makes the game."

You didn't hear much PR-accounts in the past, or?

"So if the game is going to be unprofitable, why the hell would they waste their money porting it?"

That's what i said. I meant unprofitable according to WiiWare, not XBLA.

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

ness

@ Damo: What in BCR takes so much hardware power that it would not be possible on the Wii? Sure you can't expect a 1:1 port and I know that you have to downgrade the graphics, but it would not change the game as a whole and it wouldn't be hard to do so.

I think Capcom thinks that it is just too unprofitable to port it to WiiWare.
