@ Fuun Saiki (#119): "So, have you changed your minds about some games?"
Yes, they gave Yoshi's Story a 3/5, and now it has a 4/10.
@ Dazza (#102): "Long term we want WWW and VCR to be much more unified, the beginning of doing this is having the same rating scheme across the board."
There are so many magazines and websites where the rating scheme is different between WW and VC games, and this for a good reason...
And you still didn't answer about the following paragraph:
You didn't give a reason why it (MM2) does not deserve a 10/10. But that is not the point. Look at my examples (Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros. 1, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Mario's Super Picross, Mega Man 2) to see what I mean. You didn't dwell on that subjects.
With a 10/10 system you have to argument why a game deserves a 8/10, not a 9. Or why a 9/10 not deserves a 10/10. That is missing in nearly every review of you. Often a game has no negative point, but still "just" get a 9/10.
@ Dazza (#91): "A 9/10 for Mega Man 2 is still a great score, are you really complaining now that we didn't give it 10/10?"
You didn't give a reason why it does not deserve a 10/10. But that is not the point. Look at my examples (Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros. 1, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Mario's Super Picross, Mega Man 2) to see what I mean. You didn't dwell on that subjects.
@ Mickeymac (#99): "That's why there's a link to the scoring at the bottom of every review, so people will know that a 5/10 isn't that bad(accually, in this case, it's "average)."
Go to WiiWare-World and you will see that most people think that 6/10&7/10 stands for a average game. You don't have that problem with a 5/5 system.
Btw. were stars better than numbers, especially for a retro-videogame internet site.
A 10/10 system gives just too much room for discussions.
For example: Why does Donkey Kong Country not get a 10/10? And Super Mario Bros. 1 gets a 9/10? The same as Donkey Kong Country and Sonic the Hedgehog 2?
Or Mario's Super Picross. It's a perfect Picross game with a absolutely high game volume, why does it not deserve a 10/10?
And what is with Mega Man 2? "platforming action at it's very best." (From the review) Not a 10/10? Why then "very best"? What is missing to get a 10/10?
You see what I mean? The 5/5 system was just perfect for the old games.
Quote: "We have debated making this change for some time as so many classics ended up getting rated with five stars (rightly of course!)."
Huh? That is a contradiction. You say they deserve a 5/5, so why then a change? I really can't understand why a high quality site like VC-Reviews should change its scoring system.
I see it coming. In the past: Game A = 3/5 Comments: "A quite good game, I will give it a try"
In the future: Game A = 5/10 Comments: "Wow, so bad?"
@ d.vader (#38): "I abhor 10-star rating systems. What's the difference between a game getting a 2 or a 3? It's a bad game either way. I prefer a 5-point rating scale because it's simple and gives more than enough information when accompanied by the written review. Why fix what's not broken?"
I absolutely agree with that. A review should always just give a overview about the game and an unsubtle appraisal. A 5/5 system is perfect for that.
@ Tides of Chaos (#45) "Ick, two pages per game now? I can understand wanting to separate the review and actual game comments but still, I prefer having all the info I could need in one place. Now that's gone, and it's something that I've always hated about Wiiware World."
I would prefer a pure 2D game rather than a 2,5D one. On the one hand because of the 40MB limit and the length of the game, and on the other hand because I think the graphics would be better. For me the game doesn't look very good, hopefully it looks better in motion.
@ Kirk: I don't know of you mean something like that, but the new WarioWare will have mini-games inspired by EyeToy, where you have to move your hands in front of the camera to play the games:
So I think it it shouldn't be impossible to use the DSi as a tilt controller with the help of the camera.
@ All who thinks that the copywrite buisiness wasn't a problem years ago:
"In fact, Nintendo DID have a problem with a lot of stuff in EarthBound back in 1995. A lot of changes had to be made before the 1995 legal squad then gave its approval."

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
For me this is the best 2D Jump'n'Run of all time.
Re: Review: Mario's Super Picross (SNES)
It's a perfect Picross game with a absolutely high game volume, why does it not deserve a 10/10? I can't see any negative points.
Re: Review: Mega Man 2 (NES)
@ Review: I can't read any negative points, and you say "platforming action at it's very best."
So why did it not get a 10/10?
@ Music: I find the music in the PAL version better because for me the music in the NTSC version is too fast.

Re: Take Five and Double It!
@ "You'll get used to it, Ness."
They could have made a survey or something like that.
Boah, I'm so furious about that changes, because VC-Reviews is one of my favorite Internet sites.
The next time there will be a 100/100 system...
Again, why do we need two pages for one game? If want to talk about a game I just need one page for it, not two.
Re: Take Five and Double It!
No, please, please not.
No to the 10/10 system and no to the extra review page =(.
Man, the old system was perfect, but now...
Why do we need two pages for one game? And the 5/5 system is perfect for old games, because everyone has an slightly different opinion for every game.

Re: Nintendo DSi European Launch: April 3rd

In Germany the DSLite costs 150€, so the DSi will be "just" 13% more expensive.

No.

2 Days earlier .
And I can not wait, too^^.
Re: Rumour: EarthBound Not Coming to Virtual Console
@ Mickeymac (#182): "I doubt they kept the translated ROM; you don't keep trash like that for that long."
I wouldn't bet on that .

@ chunky_droid (#29): "Katamari too!"
&
@ Mickeymac (#44): "Kamatari is coming to DSi? F*** yeah!"
It's not the Katamari you think of, it will be a falling block game similar to Tetris.
@ DSi: I will buy the DSi because I still have the old DS.

That is the new default avatar which shows if readers don't upload one of their own.

Well, that's your opinion .

And funny that you say core gamers need more games...
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Onslaught and Pop-Up Pirate!
That isn't German^^. (Maybe Dutch or Danish, I don't know.)
And yeah, because the other options are 'Normal' and 'Hard' I think it is obvious that the first one is 'Easy'^^.
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Onslaught and Pop-Up Pirate!
@ AlexSays (#65): "Yeah he wrote that in after I had already watched the videos."
O.K., but if you watched the videos you should have seen that he choosed the Easy-mode before playing .

@ Objection_Blaster (#47): "I think he was playing on easy."
Yes, he played it on the easy mode. (He even wrote it in his comment on the Youtube-site.)

Re: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster - First Look Video
The style is great, but it looks a little bit too easy. Will there be different difficulty level?
And hopefully the replay value is high enough with 13 levels.
Re: USA VC Update: Sonic Chaos
I don't know what is so interesting in this article. I mean, it is clear that the collection is much better that downloading every single game.
Re: Hudson's Upcoming WiiWare Games Revealed
Adventure Island WiiWare sounds interesting, also because it has updated graphics =).
@ Onslaught: I am a little bit sceptical because of the 40MB limitation of WiiWare games.

Re: EU WiiWare Update: Pop Them Drop Them and Family Glide Hockey
Yeah, I know, and it would be great if that feature would work with the VC-/WiiWare-games, too.
Re: Gamelion Studios Announces Furry Legends for WiiWare
What the...? How can they lost you because of the title (beastman93) or the word casual (Bahamut ZERO)? None of the two things implies a bad game...
Re: Gamelion Studios Announces Furry Legends for WiiWare
A picture is worth a thousand words, so I wait for some screenshots^^.
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Pop Them Drop Them and Family Glide Hockey
@ PiratePete (#59): "And Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2 let you run DLC straight from an SD card."
Not really, the game copies the song from the SD card to the Wii system and then deletes it after playing.

Maybe I expected too much. But wait...:
"It's okay, I've seen your posts and know what to expect from you."
Interesting, I can say the same about you. And I think I am not the only one. What a surprise!
EDIT: Oh, and the new DLC feature from the music games (Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero), where 1 song can take up to 200 blocks is just another problem.
Ehm... I mean it's great, there is no problem!!1
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Pop Them Drop Them and Family Glide Hockey
The Wii has such a intuitively user interface, so why is it so "complicated" just to play a vc game you want?
@ "I've downloaded forty or so games and have about 1200 blocks left."
Do you know the Channels?
@ "Even IF you like to play 15 games all at once (nobody does but someone will say they do) Nintendo offered a great method of storage."
Great?
Congratulations, that is one of the most ridiculous comments I've ever read on WiiWare-World.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - February 2009
Does anybody knows how many VC games were released so far in Japan?
