I don't understand why Donkey Kong 64 shouldn't be a (at least) a good game. Just because you can/must collect some stuff?
For me it is an absolutely great and awesome 3D-Jump'n'Run, because it has such wonderful worlds, great bosses, beautiful graphics, some very nice melodies, 5 different characters, ... . What do you want more?
@ Pocketim (#23): "I just want to have Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Kazooie, but that's not going to happen due to RARE and Microsoft..."
If you also mean DK64: There is no problem to release it, except maybe the expansion pack think. (DK64 is for me one of the best 3D Jump'n'Runs of all time =) ).
@ Betagam7 (#46): "Axelay is available quite easily via the region swap trick."
I tried it, but then there were so much warnings (for example that i loose all Wii points) which keep me away from doing it.
@ Chicken Brutus (#46): "It HAS a graphical update! Compare it to the screenshots on vc-reviews."
Yeah, but i mean it still has NES graphics.
And don't get me wrong, i absolutely agree with the point that the quality of the game that matters, not the quality of the visuals. I also love Mega Man 9, but because i'm not a huge fan of Bubble Bobble (although i like it), it would be much more attractive to me (and maybe to others, who don't know the game, too) with a graphical update.
@ Omega: Can you wear TV-commercials? Or use them (as a customer) in a practical way? I don't think so...
With your argumentation every CD from every artist would be promotional material (to make the artist more well-known or to inveigle the cusomer to go on a concert for example).
@ Adam (#28): "So like it or not, a 7 in most game reviewing score systems indicates a game that isn't that great but isn't that bad either (aka average)."
It's not average, it's good. Look at the Scoring Policy of WiiWare-World:
7 - Good
A seven is not average in our eyes. This game will sport a few areas where the game is blatantly let down to the detriment of its overall quality and enjoyment, but it is NOT average. A seven is still a recommendation, but you might want to consider what we thought let the game down and decide for yourself if it would bother you before buying.
Toki Tori is still one of the best WiiWare games available, so it's nice to read about the development and other things.
@ HOT-ROT (#7): DLC is very unlikely because of the technical factor. A function like that (to offer DLC) was not included. (Although i think a release of a new version of the game (like it happened with some VC games) wouldn't be impossible.)
@ KnucklesSonic8 (#51): "@ness: That's debatable. MKWii requires more skill as far as I'm concerned."
What? MKWii should require more skill than MKDS in case of drifting? I absolutely don't think so. Do you know that you can get non-stop boost with a special technique in Mario Kart DS?
@ "Case in point: How many KART (not bike) racers do you know that have attained an 8000 Rank?"
Me too, and that shouldn't be a big problem if you are good.
Ricardo91 (#47): "EDIT: btw, you really need to change that avatar. Christmas has been over for a while now. Same goes to Ness."
I will keep it until January 31th^^.
@ Wiiloveit (#51): "and VC-Reviews's five star system is harder to differentiate from than an out of ten rating, and is therefore harder to misunderstand."
The solution: A five star user rating system.
And the average of the whole ratings could also be a rating out of ten.
Yeah, and that is the big problem, you have to read the whole comments to get impressions from other users. With a rating it would be so much easier...
Wow, that's not a big update. I expected as usual at least two games. Mmh, hopefully Lonpos is leastwise a good game, but 9 DLC with 500 Wii Points each are really, really expensive.
@ Wiiloeit (#83): "I personally think that it would be best for the service if Nintendo released some more big-name franchise games on the service, to gain attention and MONIES."
I think AlexSays, Ren and KDR_11k name some very good arguments against the strategy of releasing big-name franchise. And without doing this Nintendo maybe get even more money .

Re: Artex Studios Developing for WiiWare
Yeah, but vgchartz.com is not really a trustworthy source.
Re: Evasive Space Cleared for February Lift-Off
For me it looks great, hopefully this time it gets at least an 8^^-
Re: Artex Studios Developing for WiiWare
"A good example is Defend Your Castle for WiiWare. It has stylish but not so detailed 2D graphics, top notch game play and sell more than 250,000."
Wow, nice to hear some insider information concerning sales figures =).
@ Str33t Racing:
Looks interesting =).
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Pop Them Drop Them and Family Glide Hockey
@ AlexSays (#22): "Because you realized a storage solution would only be nice if there was an actual problem?"
Oh no, not again one of these ridiculous statements from you concerning the storage problem...
Re: New Cave Story Screenshot And Progress Update
Will the DLC be for free? I think we don't know, so i would wait to call it a good point.
Re: Toribash Coming To WiiWare
@ Objection_Blaster (#39):
Capcom said there is a chance for a release outside of Japan, so let us hope^^.
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Niki - Rock 'n' Ball
@ KDR_11k (#38): "Modern versions like MM9 and Contra 4 are actually harder than the games back then."
For me Mega Man 9 is easier than its NES predecessor because of the shop, but even without it is not that hard like Mega Man 1-4.
Re: Want Toki Tori Merchandise? Speak Up Now!
@ Pavlos2094 (#26):
I think they would sell it through the internet and (hopefully) would ship it in the whole world.
Re: Toribash Coming To WiiWare
@ wanderlustwarrior (#9): "i'm sorry, but can we please get one good, normal fighting game on a nintendo system?"
You mean Tatsunoko vs. Capcom?
@ News: Cool, i like games with unique gameplay =).
Re: Want Toki Tori Merchandise? Speak Up Now!
@ Omega: Can it be that you dislike every videogame merchandise which costs money?
@ News: Depends on how much money it would costs.
Re: EU VC Update: Mario Golf and Wonder Boy in Monster Land
@ Mickeymac (#88): ""What more could you want?" "Structure? Better level design? Good controls? Fun?""
Okay, for me this was all present.
Re: Pole's Big Adventure Coming To Japanese WiiWare
@ beastman93 (#78): "Still won't buy this even though it is a platformer. Can I have at least 16-bit, please?"
I don't know how these sentences can't refer directly to Pole's Big Adventure.

Re: Pole's Big Adventure Coming To Japanese WiiWare
MarkyVigoroth (#71): "Except for the mushroom, I have yet to see any real For Adults Only content in the game..."
And why should the mushroom be a "For Adults Only content"? Because it is a Japanese slang term?
The game makes jokes about the 8-bit era, so it can (and i think it is) just be a reference to Super Mario Bros.
Re: Pole's Big Adventure Coming To Japanese WiiWare
Can it be that some of you interpret too much sexual content to this game?
EDIT: Argh, sorry for the double-post =(.
Re: Pole's Big Adventure Coming To Japanese WiiWare
@ beastman93 (#60):
This game makes jokes about some 8-bit games (for example SMB), so it wouldn't make much sense to do it with 16-bit graphics.
Re: More Square Enix Goodness on WiiWare - Crystal Defenders
How can you say that there are better games if Crystal Defenders R1 is still not available?

Re: Pole's Big Adventure Coming To Japanese WiiWare
I am very interested in this game and the whole humor and jokes about some classic games^^ (that's what i also read about it).

Maybe to hear him better?
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (21st Jan)

Re: World of Goo Soundtrack Now Available

With your argumentation every CD from every artist would be promotional material (to make the artist more well-known or to inveigle the cusomer to go on a concert for example).
Re: Bubble Bobble Wii - Now With 4 Player Support
Mmh, why without a graphical update, like Toki Tori?
So probably i will pass on it.
@ Chicken Brutus (#20): "Megaman 9 proved (and hopefully Bit Trip will reinforce) that graphical quality means nothing."
Yeah, but the whole Mega Man series is defined by the NES games. For me Bubble Bobble Wii would be much more attractive with a graphical update.
Re: More Square Enix Goodness on WiiWare - Crystal Defenders
I don't like 'Tower defence' games that much, so probably i will pass on it. (Unless it is absolutely awesome, than maybe^^.)
Re: Nintendo Channel: John Rowlands C64 Interview
Ah, thanks, i fixed it.
Re: World of Goo Soundtrack Now Available
Absolutely great =)
@ Omega (#16): "I cannot understand people who pay money for advertising a product within the circle of family and friends."
Maybe because it costs money to produce and to create the whole stuff (music, material, ...)?
Re: Review: High Voltage Hot Rod Show (WiiWare)
For me it is too pricey.
@ Adam (#28): "So like it or not, a 7 in most game reviewing score systems indicates a game that isn't that great but isn't that bad either (aka average)."

Re: USA WiiWare Update: High Voltage Hot Rod Show & Family Glide Hockey

It allowed you maybe the first time to be really good in a Mario Kart game and not so depending on items...

Re: Nintendo Channel: Ian Livingstone C64 Interview
As i said in the other news before, very nice to see stuff like that in the Nintendo-Channel.
Re: Nintendo Channel: John Rowlands C64 Interview

@ VC-Reviews: Here is the Interview with Ian Livingstone from the Nintendo Channel.
Re: USA WiiWare Update: High Voltage Hot Rod Show & Family Glide Hockey

What? MKWii should require more skill than MKDS in case of drifting? I absolutely don't think so. Do you know that you can get non-stop boost with a special technique in Mario Kart DS?

Wiiloveit (#26): "Mario Kart Wii is awesome, with the best drifting techniques"
The best drifting techniques? Shouldn't Mario Kart DS get that "honor"?
Re: Nintendo Channel: John Rowlands C64 Interview
@ RGVEDA: Kann man sich das Video mit Ian Livingstone denn schon anschauen? Auf der Startseite ist es noch nicht, oder?
@ News: Yep, a really nice feature on the Nintendo Channel, hope to see more of things like that.

Very nice, hopefully MUSHA comes with the next Hanabi-Festival to Europe, too.

Re: Over The Top Games Interview - Icarian: Kindred Spirits
@ Terranigma & Wiiloveit:
That is the risk.
But why do IGN have a rating system? Or VC-Reviews? Or nearly every other popular gaming website?
Re: Over The Top Games Interview - Icarian: Kindred Spirits
@ Bahamut ZERO (#31):
Yeah, and that is the big problem, you have to read the whole comments to get impressions from other users. With a rating it would be so much easier...

They don't have to localize their game.

Why shouldn't it be profitable? I mean they have nothing to loose by releasing a game.

Beetle Adventure Racing was great and one of the best racing games of the N64:

Re: Ten Games We'd Like To See On The Virtual Console In 2009
No, not in this generation. Don't forget, GameCube games are 1,5 GByte big .
Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Ignoring WiiWare?
@ Jonny United (#67): "Sorry, I just don't see a game as confirmed til I see it in action or at least a picture."
Yeah, but Miyamoto said that a new Mario, Zelda and Pikmin title are in development. You ask what Nintendo do, and this is a part of the answer.
Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Ignoring WiiWare?
I agree with KDR_11k's 1st and 21th post.
@ Jonny: "Other then wii sports resort or a bunch of GC remakes what are nintendo cooking up that we know about?"
At least a new Mario, Zelda and Pikmin game.
Re: Capcom To Release Mega Man 9 Soundtrack
The soundtracks of Kingdom Hearts, Chrono Trigger ($21.90) and Disgae (Custom Soundtrack) ($9.90) are available, and they aren't that expensive.
And sadly Animal Crossing doesn't have an own O.S.T. CD =(.
(I love the music, too^^).
Re: Bit.Trip Beat To Bring Classic Arcade Gameplay To WiiWare
A nice video, hopefully the gameplay is at least as good as the whole concept sounds =).
