Re: Random: Brazil's President Keeps Using Sonic Music In His Tweets, And Now The Mario Theme

That was obviously not overseen by him, but it's compatible with how seriously he takes the job. He got elected by pandering mostly to fascistic incels, middle-aged men who didn't get enough love from their parents, and lower-middle class people who make light of serious issues and think they're rich. They'll be delighted to see that the administration is still as presidentially tone deaf as it's always been.

Re: Pokémon X & Y Torchic Distribution Announced

eduardopaulo

To be fair, I think prior to today's post there was no indication whatsoever as to where exactly Torchic could be obtained - information was pretty vague, it could be US only, or Gamestop only - and now NL has confirmed it's a wi-fi event and anyone can get the Torchic just by connecting the 3DS to the internet.

@suburban_sensei @Hunter-D

It took me a long time to decide which was my favorite Kalos starter, but when the final forms leaked it was no longer an issue. It's the first time my favorite starter is grass type (my choices in previous generations have been Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Piplup, and Tepig). I always look for balance between types and stuff like that, but I will NOT train a Pokémon if I think its looks are lame.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Wii U And 3DS Broadcast Coming Tomorrow

eduardopaulo

I don't think this Nintendo Direct will see any news regarding Pokémon X and Y. My guess is they have something else for this week or the next, specifically in the form of a short Pokémon Direct with very interesting content to get even more people aboard the hype train. Tomorrow, probably Zelda news for the 3DS, something about the 2DS, and the Mario and DK titles for the Wii U.

@GamerZack7 From your mouth to Nintendo's ears, man.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Swings Into a Release on 24th May

@Five-seveN I know it looks very good in the video and it's very promising, and the fact that they're rebuilding the entire thing from the ground up for the 3DS probably means that it's going to be a fantastic game (maybe THE killer app), but I'm trying to be realistic - and careful, because 3DS retail games in Brazil have a standard price of 75 dollars and I don't want to be disappointed. I decided to buy Rayman 3D (cost me the equivalent of 50 dollars in Brazilian currency) in spite of all the reviews and that taught me to be even more picky from now on.

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo DS Lite

@1upLuigi Looks pretty cool. I gave my DS Lite to my 5-year old brother; let's see how long it'll take until he breaks the hinge and I have to do the same thing you did. My guess is within a week's time.

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo DS Lite

I didn't know that the DS Lite's hinge broke so often. I had mine for three years and took it everywhere, never owned a case, and it never broke. My only complaint about it is that it was very hard to keep clean. The small crevices were always dirty.

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo DS Lite

I've never owned a proper home console by any company, only Nintendo handhelds. I got tired of my GBA in 2005 because good games were expensive, and the DS was VERY expensive here in Brazil at the time, so I thought my gaming life was done for good. Then in 2009 I talked to a friend and he told me about the DS Lite, which was very accessible for gamers with little money, and I got a white one (identical to the one in the pics above) right away. It was my first true experience with great titles, and it helped me define my taste in games. My favorite one of the bunch, as you can tell from my avatar, is Henry Hatsworth; I probably beat it ten times in Gentleman Mode. I retired my DS in late 2012 after deciding that the 3DS XL and its games were a good investment.

Re: The Legend of Zelda Oracle Titles Coming to Japanese 3DS Virtual Console

eduardopaulo

I'm glad Aonuma said that it'll take a while before the Oracle games are released outside Japan, because at least it means that we'll be able to get it sooner or later. My main beef with the 3DS eShop now, outside of the fact that it could be much better, is that SMB3 was released in Japan on January the 1st and so far they haven't mentioned if it'll be released in NA or EU. I also don't understand why they released Castlevania in EU and Dig Dug in NA instead of releasing both in both places and leaving it to the gamer to decide which one/ones to buy.

As for GBA games, I've sent an e-mail to NOA earlier this year about it and they said they have no plans of releasing them on the 3DS eShop whatsoever. Maybe it's different with Nintendo of Europe, but I didn't bother contacting them as my 3DS is American.
