NISA need to immediately jump on the hype and get release dates set for Ys X Nordics and the remaster of Ys The Oath in Felhgana. I know its wishful thinking that we get those soon, but at least let us know that they are coming. Also they need to wrangle the rest of the Falcom franchises from XSEED since they are doing nothing with them. Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 for Switch are already available in Asia territories and Japan. Many of the Ys games are stuck with XSEED as well. Ugh...
I did a chat session with Nicalis on their website and asked about a reprint of Ikaruga. They honestly answered that they are going to try a reprint, (probably not the deluxe edition), but no date set and no announcement yet either. So if anyone is considering paying the cash for a copy from the original run then you might hold off for a while.
Seeing Trails of Cold Steel 2 on that list really upsets me because XSEED still hasn't confirmed if they will bring the ports to the West yet. They still own the translation rights. I would hope that they simply sell them to NISA so they could bring them over but who knows...
Can someone please explain what makes this Tetris game so highly regarded? I've played many of them and the last ones I really got into were PuyoPuyo Tetris and Tetris99.
Looks good. I'll import it from anywhere if there is an English language version. I'm also willing to do that too for Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 for Switch as well but that's up to XSEED sadly...
@realityxaidan I just got a new copy in from LRG. I bought it based off the review from Noisy Pixel on YouTube. They review a lot of these niche jrpg's.
Dang people hate on Nintendo for making their own business decisions and act like they are entitled to lead them with their constant complaints. People are so mad about this I'm surprised they aren't trying to meet the fans in public and protest and spit at them for liking a game...
@15roundTKO except Nintendo is working on new games. They take their time. Re-releasing this game to give new, and old, players a chance with it is cool. It's not like they are constantly putting it out on everything like Skyrim for years and years.
Honestly the Switch hate train, (which has been going on since it's debut) just went into overdrive after the whole Pro debacle. The Pro does not exist currently and Nintendo are most definitely working on the next console, but we don't know anything about it. The Steam Deck is hitting the scene at the correct time to jump in that "empty" Pro handheld market, but it does not have the Nintendo charm so it'll probably be able to sit alongside Nin8but won't concur it in the long run.
Tales of Arise, FF7R, DQ12... All seem to be going for a harder edge this time. FF7R was first then Tales and after that DQ12. I'm very curious about these. Tales of Arise looks stunning to me.
@Paranoid_Android I just got a new copy from a local mom and pop game store because I couldn't find it at any Wal-Mart near me. Weird honestly. All the Walmarts I stopped at had huge stacks of Skyward Sword though to be sold lol.
Ys IX has proved to me that Falcom is exploring more ideas for their future games and these last couple of titles (Ys IX and Trails into Reverie) are the springboards for what's to come. Ys X and Kuro no Kiseki are using the new Falcom engine and hopefully they'll be able to really use it to their full advantage and make both series shine.
@SuperBiny64 fyi, it'll probably never go down in price for a physical copy beyond $50 bucks. Gamestop charges around $50-$55 for a used copy of Ys VIII on Switch. The only way to get Ys IX physical for cheaper than $60 is if there's a surplus of unsold copies (doubtful), or maybe a local mom and pop store sells them under secondary market value. Ebay and Mercari already have sellers trying to squeeze more money out of the regular release.
Tbh, the game is as playable as Ys VIII was on Switch. Take in mind that this is the last physical release for the game months after the PlayStation version and also that NISA titles seem to rarely get additional prints runs and also that the Switch collector market for niche Japanese titles is crazy popular.
I bought my copy day one and I don't regret it. Of course I'm a diehard Ys/Falcom fan and I'll always support them on Nintendo consoles so it was a no-brainer for me. If you want it and have other ways to play it then you should go for it now or maybe wait a while for the next NISA digital sale.
NISA raised prices on their digital market recently so it'll stay $60 bucks for a while and won't drop too far down from that for quite some time.
@CactusMan those games never had combat like that. They were always done using bump mechanics. That was one of the biggest differences between Ys and Zelda for comparison. Falcom decided to keep the original 2 games the same way when the did the remakes because of nostalgia.
If you liked Ys VIII on the Switch then this will be the same. It can chug in the city sections but inside buildings and dungeons it plays the best which is what matters. If you are only able to play it on Switch I highly recommend it. I'm enjoying it immensely and this will definitely be hard to find later on.
All of the stupid leakers leading up to the direct have deflated my hype. I don't know if any of them are true, but just recently a lot of them are now telling everyone to lower expectations...
@PBandSmelly yeah. People are watching the conference waiting for the Nintendo game to be shown. It's already in their heads and while they might be really wanting like Assassin's Creed or something, the little Rabbids game is just sitting there waiting for its reveal
Brushie must have some strong connections, or perhaps inside knowledge from pre-release trailers and marketing. A lot of the leaks seem to be from places like IGN. I assume IGN has stuff lined up and ready to go.
Regardless of where the leaks are directly coming from, Brushie better learn how to morph into other people so Nintendo can't get that sniper shot lined up lol.
@Tyranexx if you are a physical cart Collector you should probably grab Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 pretty soon and not wait that much longer because they'll be out of print
Any future development of Ska died in the third wave of the 90's. What's left are the super hardcore bands that carry the spirit on, whether they be more Ska-Punk, 2-Tone style or just the normal version everyone knows about.
For me I got into Ska way past its prime in the late 2000's and early 2010's. Bands like Streetlight Manifesto, Big D and the Kids Table, and Bomb the Music Industry! kept the spirit alive while older acts like Less Than Jake, Suicide Machines, and The Toasters kept on truckin'.
Just to say it, my personal favorite Ska band will always be Operation Ivy, who really did the Ska-Punk thing more than just Ska itself.
A few others I liked were Against All Authority, MU330, Skankin' Pickle, Mustard Plug, Hepcat, The Pietasters, Catch-22, Five Iron Frenzy, Madness, RX Bandits, The Slackers, Dance Hall Crashers, Buck-O-Nine, I Voted for Kodos, Fish bone, and Slapstick.
@Kimyonaakuma my name is Schuyler but back in the day when I was in junior high school I was always teased because I had really long hair. I'm Native American and even my native friends teased me! Well probably because I'm a halfbreed and not full blood Native, but regardless I friggin' HATED HANSON!
Yeah those three Tulsa brothers with the long hair and that "Mmmbop" song. They used to called me, "Hey Mmmbop!"
Ugh... At least Hanson didn't stick around forever and were quickly forgotten once all the boy bands took over a year or so later.
Everything can be in Nintendo's hand this E3. They absolutely need to bring the games this year though. Lots of in demand ports and brand new games. Heavy hitters.
Oh man I hope we can get some Falcom titles on Switch. My most wanted are Ys, Tokyo Xanadu, and of course more Trails games. And yes I know about the ownership rights and yadda yadda
@Slain yep that's my idea as well. I forgot about them doing this anniversary thing so I was going to wait until E3 this year to decide on importing the game or not.

Re: Dead Cells Huge 'Enter The Panchaku' Update Finally Arrives On Switch Today
There's a reason why I've played over 300 hours of this game. It's incredible. One of the absolute best indie games ever made in my opinion. No doubt.

Re: Want To See The Star Wars: Rogue Squadron Games On Switch? Let Aspyr Know
These are the only Star Wars ports that I've ever wanted. The three Rogue Squadron games are amazing.
Re: 'All Aksys' Showcase To Feature At Least 6 Upcoming Switch Games
Aksys owns the translation rights to Tokyo Xanadu. It'd be great if they could get a port of that on Switch. Too many VNs' for my taste...
Re: RedDeerGames Summer Sale Sees Ridiculous Savings On Switch, Prices As Low As $0.09
Anyone go to that eel and meat pie place? I saw it on a YouTube food channel.
Re: Cave's Shmup Espgaluda II Is Targeting A September Switch Release In Japan
I'm holding off just in case they decide to put these Cave shmups onto a cartridge. If they don't then I'll definitely buy them digital.

Re: Feature: Artist Kamui Fujiwara Talks Terranigma Amid Drive To Resurrect Classic SNES RPG
They need to give the entire Quintet Trilogy a collection just like the Mana and Saga collections from Squaresoft.

Re: 'All Aksys' Showcase Event To Feature At Least 7 Switch Games
So yeah I am currently watching and I hope they show off some new stuff! I really want Tokyo Xanadu ex+ on Switch. Also Muramasa on Switch!

@RushDawg perhaps Persona 6 can be multi platform this time around.
Re: Atlus Has Seven "Project" Reveals Planned For Persona's 25th Anniversary
Honestly I'll take whatever I can get on Switch. Some people think they might do remakes of Persona 1&2. That'd be awesome.
Re: 'All Aksys' Showcase Event Will Feature At Least 7 Switch Games
Tokyo Xanadu for Switch please! OMG I hope that happens...
