Re: NIS America To Host 30th Anniversary Livestream Event Next Week

NISA need to immediately jump on the hype and get release dates set for Ys X Nordics and the remaster of Ys The Oath in Felhgana. I know its wishful thinking that we get those soon, but at least let us know that they are coming. Also they need to wrangle the rest of the Falcom franchises from XSEED since they are doing nothing with them. Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 for Switch are already available in Asia territories and Japan. Many of the Ys games are stuck with XSEED as well. Ugh...

Re: Treasure's "Highly Requested" Title Has Been Leaked

I did a chat session with Nicalis on their website and asked about a reprint of Ikaruga. They honestly answered that they are going to try a reprint, (probably not the deluxe edition), but no date set and no announcement yet either. So if anyone is considering paying the cash for a copy from the original run then you might hold off for a while.

Re: Valve Responds To 'Switch Vs Steam Deck' Comparisons, Insists It's "Going After" A Different Audience

Honestly the Switch hate train, (which has been going on since it's debut) just went into overdrive after the whole Pro debacle. The Pro does not exist currently and Nintendo are most definitely working on the next console, but we don't know anything about it. The Steam Deck is hitting the scene at the correct time to jump in that "empty" Pro handheld market, but it does not have the Nintendo charm so it'll probably be able to sit alongside Nin8but won't concur it in the long run.

Re: Review: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox - A Fine Action-RPG With Performance Issues On Switch

@SuperBiny64 fyi, it'll probably never go down in price for a physical copy beyond $50 bucks. Gamestop charges around $50-$55 for a used copy of Ys VIII on Switch. The only way to get Ys IX physical for cheaper than $60 is if there's a surplus of unsold copies (doubtful), or maybe a local mom and pop store sells them under secondary market value. Ebay and Mercari already have sellers trying to squeeze more money out of the regular release.

Tbh, the game is as playable as Ys VIII was on Switch. Take in mind that this is the last physical release for the game months after the PlayStation version and also that NISA titles seem to rarely get additional prints runs and also that the Switch collector market for niche Japanese titles is crazy popular.

I bought my copy day one and I don't regret it. Of course I'm a diehard Ys/Falcom fan and I'll always support them on Nintendo consoles so it was a no-brainer for me. If you want it and have other ways to play it then you should go for it now or maybe wait a while for the next NISA digital sale.

NISA raised prices on their digital market recently so it'll stay $60 bucks for a while and won't drop too far down from that for quite some time.

Re: Random: Fortnite's Ska Dance Emote Foreshadows A Ska Revival

Any future development of Ska died in the third wave of the 90's. What's left are the super hardcore bands that carry the spirit on, whether they be more Ska-Punk, 2-Tone style or just the normal version everyone knows about.

For me I got into Ska way past its prime in the late 2000's and early 2010's. Bands like Streetlight Manifesto, Big D and the Kids Table, and Bomb the Music Industry! kept the spirit alive while older acts like Less Than Jake, Suicide Machines, and The Toasters kept on truckin'.

Just to say it, my personal favorite Ska band will always be Operation Ivy, who really did the Ska-Punk thing more than just Ska itself.

A few others I liked were Against All Authority, MU330, Skankin' Pickle, Mustard Plug, Hepcat, The Pietasters, Catch-22, Five Iron Frenzy, Madness, RX Bandits, The Slackers, Dance Hall Crashers, Buck-O-Nine, I Voted for Kodos, Fish bone, and Slapstick.

@Kimyonaakuma my name is Schuyler but back in the day when I was in junior high school I was always teased because I had really long hair. I'm Native American and even my native friends teased me! Well probably because I'm a halfbreed and not full blood Native, but regardless I friggin' HATED HANSON!

Yeah those three Tulsa brothers with the long hair and that "Mmmbop" song. They used to called me, "Hey Mmmbop!"

Ugh... At least Hanson didn't stick around forever and were quickly forgotten once all the boy bands took over a year or so later.
