Re: Talking Point: Do You Have A 'Way' You Play Certain Switch Games?

deadmaker

My Switch is mainly docked, though I only play Taiko no Tatsujin games in tabletop mode due to a minor latency annoyance when played on TV.

I have a flexible tripod with a tablet support which sometimes I use the Switch with in my bedroom, but there are games that really deserve to be played on the big screen rather than on its small one.

Re: New Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Footage Shows Off The Game's Autosave Feature

Skyward Sword was the second Zelda game I ever played. Honestly, at the time I didn't even realize how much people disliked it. I mean, the motion controls were a bit awkward throughout the playthrough, but I finished the game with no problems at all.

I'm actually kind of excited for this remaster as I've forgotten most of the story. Won't be playing it anytime soon though, since I'll wait for a sale.

Re: Talking Point: Should We Be Worried About Screen Burn-In With Switch OLED?

I've had a Samsung Galaxy S7 for 3 years and no sign of burn in on its screen. On the other hand, I purchased a second hand Vita which shows slightly marks of burn in.

I don't know the answers to avoid these problems, but in the case of the Switch OLED, I would say it's better to vary the play styles on it. Whenever possible, just play it on the dock and use it as a portable only when necessary, and when you're in a darker environment, just set the auto brightness on. That must be enough to avoid the screen burn in.

Re: Random: Another Fan Takes A Crack At Redesigning Switch's User Interface

The only thing I'd like the UI to have is a way to move the icons, so I could personalize my home menu rather than using preset options. Don't really care about folders.

The mockup is quite pretty though. Just didn't like the logos on top of the screen. I would remove them, move the games icons up and return the side buttons to the bottom.

Re: Rumour: The Voice Of Metal Gear Solid's Snake Hints That A Second Remake Is On The Way

If Konami is really working on the Metal Gear franchise, I'd like to see a remake of the MSX titles. People have been begging for this for a long time and they know it has a huge commercial appealing, just like FF7R.

Also, they'd better port/remake MGS4 to other platforms because that game doesn't deserve to be tied to an old console forever and I'm sure there's a big audience of new players and people who didn't have a PS3 and never had a chance to play it.

As for The Twin Snakes, a remaster would be nice. I don't think there's need for another remake.

Re: Konami España Hints At More Switch News To Come

I'd certainly love to have the Metal Gear franchise on Switch. Be it Rising or TPP, or even TTS Remastered (one can always dream).

But Konami REALLY needs to do 2 things: remake the 2 Metal Gear games from the MSX and, somehow, release MGS4 on other platforms.

Re: Talking Point: Are You A Player Or Collector?

I see myself more as a gamer. In every platform I own I got an average of 3~4 games on backlog to finish. That's on Switch, Wii U, Xbox 360, 3DS and PS Vita (and my brother's PS4 which is with me right now).

My biggest problem is that in recent years I began wanting to marathon most story based games. For instance, I recently purchased Trials of Mana but won't start playing it without playing first its previous games. Same with The Witcher 3. And being like that feels like a burden, honestly.

Today PS Plus owners got Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I had played the first 2 games a couple years ago on Xbox 360 and decided not to replay them before starting the third game. And I'm feeling somewhat guilty because I don't quite remember the story. 🤦🏻‍♂️
