C from me. It's not bad... but not really great either. The games are alright, but not Nintendo's best. Then there's the 3rd party support which is the worst Nintendo's ever seen for a home console. The VC is ok, but support is not up to par with the Wii at this point (not even many third parties seemed interested in it).
Wild Guns is a good game. Better than what's been released recently (except for maybe Lifeforce). The other two I can live without, but hopefully we'll see the other two NES Adventure Island games eventually (the fourth one was Japan only so I doubt we'll see that one).
@CarsonPistol: I think a better thing to say would be: "The vast majority of the people who voted in your poll don't think it's a major issue (Nearly 80%)."
I agree with the rest of your post though. Thankfully, these types of articles are easy to ignore. Hopefully the writers don't start shoehorning their political views into reviews anytime soon. Those aren't as easy to ignore.
The way I see it, if you don't like it, just ignore it. If you're offended by the same sex option (assuming that Nintendo kept in in the game), then don't use it. That being said, I don't think that not having this option in the game is as huge of an issue as some people are making it out to be, considering that this is Nintendo we're talking about here. Same sex marriage is something that's simply too controversial for Nintendo to deal with.
That's why you only donate to developers that you trust will finish and release the game. As for me, I've never donated to Kickstarter before, although that mostly has to do with the fact that I have limited funds.
If the future of the series is more Westernized games, then it won't bother me. Although it is still important for Nintendo since the Wii U is in dire need of more third party titles.
Considering that this is from the same company that gave us such treasured eshop and DSiware classics like Gummy Bears Magical Medallion and Zombie Blaster, the score doesn't really surprise me.
Pretty reasonable statements here. In terms of sales, he may or may not be right. I highly doubt that the Wii U anywhere near the Wii though. . "Also says gamers see tablet and mobile as "perfect substitutes" for 3DS"
Actually, if you read the article it says this:
"We continue to expect handheld hardware sales to decline over the next few years, as many non-traditional gamers consider smartphone and tablet games a perfect substitute for casual games played on dedicated handheld hardware."
He's not saying gamers as a whole. He's talking about the casuals. Yeah there's some dedicated gamers who do a lot of tablet gaming but I doubt that most feel this way, as shown by the comments.
The online thing is what really bothers me. Doesn't M$ realize that not everybody in the US has good internet? The "once a day" connection is a load of BS too. What if my internet were to go out for a few days? Looks like I'm SOL. And then there's the servers. Those things aren't going to last forever. It would be like you're renting the console because you can only play games as long as you can connect online.
Unless M$ makes some major changes before launch, I hope this abomination flops harder than the Virtual Boy. Aw who am I kidding, that'd never happen.
Not a bad game but it's really showing it's age. Nothing wrong with simplicity, but this one's a little too simplistic for my tastes and pretty bland as well. This is one better left for the past. 5/10.

Re: Wii U eShop Title Meme Run Seals Approval To Release This December
Hopefully the fianl product looks better than this.
Re: Konami Demands That Hardcore Gaming 101 Presents: Castlevania Book Be Removed From Sale
@WaLzgi Well if Konami is sending cease and desist emails like a couple of users have been saying, I'm not holding my breath.
Re: Konami Demands That Hardcore Gaming 101 Presents: Castlevania Book Be Removed From Sale
If he can't sell it (I'm assuming that's what the major issue is here), could he put the digital version online for free?
Re: Review: Mighty Final Fight (3DS eShop / NES)
Been waiting on this one to get a VC release for a while. Hopefully it comes to NA eventually.
Re: Mad Men Football Shows Off Its New N64-Inspired Sports Uniform
Can't wait to read the review if this game ends up coming out. Looks pathetic.
Re: Meme Run is Coming to Troll Your Wii U Very Soon
Looks like something you'd see if you were on some serious drugs.
Re: Mario Kart 64
Played this one a couple of months ago. Still fun to play. Loved what they did to Rainbow Road in MK8, made it much more interesting.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Three More Virtual Console Treats That Are Coming Soon
I'm predicting a 7/10 for Wild Guns. There's no way the Wii U version is getting a 9/10 (tbh I'm surprised the Wii version scored so high).

Re: Review: Double Dragon II: The Revenge (Wii U eShop / NES)
Meh, I'll pass. Most NES beatemups haven't aged particularly well anyways. I'll just wait until River City Ransom eventually releases.
Re: Review: Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (Wii U eShop / NES)
Good game, but what's wrong with Trevor in the banner?

Re: Bit Boy!! Arcade Expected to Launch on North American 3DS eShop on 17th April
This is BPlus we're talking about here, so I wouldn't expect anything too special.
Also, whatever happened to that other game that they were supposed to release for the 3DS? Guess it was so bad that they stopped making it.
Re: This Legend of Zelda NES Demake Allows You to Experience Link's Most Basic Quest Yet
Not bad, too bad the full dungeons aren't there. I entered the first one and it only has the room with the Triforce piece.
Re: Report Suggests That June Could Be Crucial For Iwata's Future At The Head Of Nintendo
Whatever happens hopefully Nintendo can get steered into the right direction soon.
Re: Australian Ratings Board Reveals Portable Castlevania and More F-Zero for Wii U's GBA Virtual Console
@Dark-Link73 Some people are impossible to please.
Re: Australian Ratings Board Reveals Portable Castlevania and More F-Zero for Wii U's GBA Virtual Console
Castlevania will be mine. Hopefully we won't have to wait an eternity for it.
Re: Star Parodier Removed From the Wii Virtual Console in North America
Too bad. I thought this was one of the better shumps on the Wii VC.
Re: Super Mario Bros. 3 Is Warping To North American Virtual Consoles On April 17th
The prices don't bother me. I was worried that Nintendo would charge $10+ for the games.
Re: Game Boy Advance Games On The Wii U Virtual Console Are Single Player Only
Doesn't bother me. I usually play games by myself anyways.
Re: Review: Devil World (3DS eShop / NES)
I'd give it a 6. Decent maze game, but there's better options out there.
Re: High Voltage Software Developing 3DS Version of Amazing Spider-Man 2
HVS eh? So I guess we're going to expect a medicore at best game.
Re: Review: Adventure Island II (3DS eShop / NES)
About time this game gets released in NA for any of the Virtual Consoles. Hopefully it comes to the Wii U soon.
Re: Review: Galaga (3DS eShop / NES)
Pretty basic compared to later shumps, but still one of my favorites. I'll pass on this version though. I have enough versions of this game.
Re: Koji Igarashi, Best Known for the Castlevania Series, Departs from Konami
So I guess this is the final nail in the coffin for any new Metroidvanias? Shame, those 3D Castlevanias never did look all that appealing.
Re: Julius Caesar Will Be Taking the Battle to the Field in Mad Men Football
You would think for a video game company they would have a better looking website than what they have.
Re: Nintendo Switching Off Wi-Fi Connection Service On Wii And DS
At least the Wii Shop Channel is around.
Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms
So it's pretty much cancelled at this point? Probably for the best, it's not like it would have sold well anyways.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th January (North America)
What no SMB3? Booooo Nintendo, you suck I'm getting a PS4 and throwing my Wii U in the trash.
Just kidding. About time we get Zelda, and the deals are terrific as well. I'll download Runner 2.
Re: The Nikkei Reports Potential Nintendo Smartphone Strategy, to be Announced This Week
That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Especially if it makes them $$$, which it probably will.

Re: Mighty Bomb Jack Is Blowing Up The North American Wii U Virtual Console This Week
Oh yay, a game that like five people want. You know you can do better than this Tecmo.
Re: Final Fantasy VI On Android Is Pricey and Looks Rather Peculiar

Re: Soapbox: The Wii U Virtual Console Needs to Freshen Up
I just wish that more games that weren't originally released on the Wii VC would come out.
Re: Review: GOLF (Wii U eShop)
Better off waiting for NES Open Tournament Golf's eventual release.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th June (North America)
At least we got a good Neo Geo game.
Re: Ubisoft Nervous About How People Will React To Watch_Dogs At E3
Looks promising.

Mario RPG is a pretty good reward. Anybody who doesn't already have that one should get it.
Re: Capcom Announces Two More Wii U Virtual Console Titles In May
Good. Save states would really be welcome for these two.
Re: Review: Ice Climber (Wii U eShop / NES)
Nintendo's worst first party title (yes even worse than Urban Champion). Wish they would stop re-releasing crap like this for every VC.
