I'm still not getting an XL. I want the base model. I'd like a system with screens big enough that I'm not squinting, but that is small enough that it doesn't pull my pants down when I put it in my pocket.
The upgrades from the previous version are excellent, the story is great, the amount of content is superb and even overwhelming, the follower mechanic is nice, the visuals are amazing... It's the superior version of GS.
"This person is a celebrity, he can't have his own personal life or make his own decisions. He's either getting paid for every word or working on the thing I want. That or I hate him and he needs to die."
Mother is over. The series should be remade though. That'd be awesome.
This is terrible... I've made Platinum every year, and the rewards have always been great, but this? ... This is just "Thanks, here's a gift card" except you don't get to decide what you want to spend the gift card on.
Hmm. Well, he definitely should have released it on the eShop rather than WiiWare, and I think he realizes that. Still, I feel bad for the guy. People should make money off their products.
I'm gonna pick it up, then, as soon as I can. Maybe boost those numbers a little.
Castlevania is proof that an old series being "hardcore" isn't always a success.
What this tells me, though, is that Konami will probably wait and see how other franchises do on Nintendo consoles. But Castlevania has suffered the same fate as Mario, every game being almost exactly like the last, with the difference being that people didn't tire of Mario. Castlevania shaking things up caused publicity in its own right, and I'd be surprised if the next title gained that much momentum.
But I am disappointed. Not because Retro's not working on Metroid, and not because Retro's working on Donkey Kong Country.
I'm disappointed because they're dedicating one of their (in my opinion) best studios to a side scrolling platformer... I love platformers, really, but I have enough to tide me over for a while. And Nintendo has two other franchises basically dedicated to side scrolling platforming (Mario and Kirby). I'd rather have seen Retro working on a Star Tropics game. Or at /least/ a 3D platformer like DK 64.
The reason for that is simple. Games need to be accessible these days, which means they need to be easier than they've been in the past, hence tutorials and such. The achievement system is the gaming industry's compromise. The achievements are often where the difficult parts lie.
With that said, adding achievements to older games is difficult because, more often than not, just beating the game is an accomplishment in and of itself. You'll often find older games with added achievements being the reverse of what we're used to. That is to say, hard game, easy achievements.
@unrandomsam Nintendo is a business. If they stop making money, they stop producing games. I (because I guess I'm not speaking for everyone here) support them because I want more Nintendo games. And your argument is... That they have enough money so they should stop charging customers... This can't REALLY be an argument, can it?
Can't it just be enough that we early adopters supported our company of choice in its time of need? I not only don't want an Ambassador Program on Wii U, I specifically want them not to do one. With all the promotions that have been available because we had Wii U's (like the 30 cent games, or the buy two get one free VC games) that nobody who buys one from here on in will get, I not only feel like I shouldn't get more, I feel like I've already gotten more.
Guys, for crying out loud, what could they tell us about Wii U that we don't already know? Just release dates for Pikmin 3, and then a bunch of games that aren't nearly as popular in the market. Besides, E3 is right around the corner, and I'm sure Nintendo is saving the big guns for then. That's when they need to sell the Wii U, a system that's hardly selling, to investors. They're going to need a lot of amazing looking software for that.
We'll get there. Enjoy the fact that there's news coming out now. You DO know we're dealing with Nintendo, right? The company who used to make announcements at E3 and Tokyo Game Show and then never again. I'm really just happy about that.
Also, more on topic, if we're allowed to speculate wildly about our hopes and dreams, what's the policy on Megaman Legends 3?

My vote to Megaman 64. Regardless.

No basic model? Welp, guess I'm not getting a New 3DS. I'm certainly not buying an XL.

HGSS, easily and handily.

I'm glad that we won't be seeing another because I really hated this game.
I'm upset, though, that people are suffering for that.

Okay.
Omastar and Pidgeot. You got both of those wrong.
But I forgive you. <3

Yes. EBA. All the time forever. A chance for a revival without Nintendo's toxic commercials destroying the game's potential audience.
Re: Mario And Zelda On Mobile Could Bring New Players To Nintendo Consoles, Suggest Industry Analysts
Incorrect. Releasing any Nintendo game on a mobile platform would completely cease console sales.

Wrong. Shantae is on DSiware. So is Aura Aura Climber. But I'm willing to give this game you recommend a chance.

I wouldn't mind an achievement system... Just sayin'...

This was a really good decision. There's now a reason to get the Wii U version other than to just get the Wii U version. Good business practices.
