Nintendo kart with a hub world track and boss fights. They began with the crossover characters and tracks in mk8. I think there is a lott of potential with this concept.
1. Dk64 HD sequel (with improved mechanics)
2. Ace attornney HD
3. Super Mario world 3 (a true successor with more difficulty than de nsmb games with a beautiful 3D hub world with many secrets)
4. Mario party 11 (back to the roots)
5. Metroid prime 4 (i hope it is ready to be shown)
6. A surprise game no one is expecting which turns out to be a great game
7. Skyward sword HD with the option to play with motion controlls in stead of the obligation or OOT HD
Those are the not so obvious games i am hoping for. I also keep in my mind that most of them won’t happen during this E3
I hope the rumour is wrong about star fox and that we get a fantastic open world donkey kong! With a lot of improvements over dk64 there is so much potential.
I loved dk64 and still hope for a sequel with a beautiful hub-world and improved mechanics. I also have faith in wathever project retro is Involved. Even though star fox wouldn’t be my first choice, I will judge it after I get more information.
The portability factor is huge here. Of course I already got netflix on wii-u and ps4. However I like to watch it EVERYWHERE on the switch.
And I could also achieve this with my ipad, but when I am for example in bed I want to be able to choose (gaming or films) and not bring multiple devices...
Of course it isn't an absolute must, but why wouldn't it be there?
@thesilverbrick I completely agree with you. Since Nintendo stopped making games for Wii-U, I have been expecting that they would be able to fire with big guns for the switch, especially with the prospect of a unified library. For about 1.5 year we got zero games. Last year I was a bit disappointed in januari, but in the end 2017 was a very good year for Nintendo.
But the most important thing is, that they need to keep this momentum alive. I almost know that they wil provide us with some surprises down the road in 2018, however I feel that they had to announce more exciting first party stuff.
If they announced something like diddy kong racing 2, or a new 3d donkey kong, or some other big game i wouldn't feel like I completely bought the wii-u for nothing. I understand that this isn't the place for first time pokemon switch or mp4 footage, but i wan't to get that exciting feeling like when the remaster of majora's mask was finally announced.
I hope there will be a full direct before the end of february, where they can surprise wii-u owners with something nobody is expecting, but what everyone wants.
If this is it for the first half of 2018, I clearly can't see the full potential of a unified library. If they can make the most of this potential than that would be AMAZING.
It won’t take long before we know how serious Nintendo is with the ‘no more waiting’ attitude. This is by far the most important direct and year for Nintendo since a long time.
I have faith they will deliver! And getting GameCube VC would be a good beginning
@DanteSolablood True, and I just hope there will be a lot of good surprises before launch and with E3! I just think we were al expecting a ton more information and games, because of all the rumours and the fact that there was so little to play on the Wii-u for two years.
@DanteSolablood that's right, but i just can't understand that for two years we got so little games and now this is how they begin with the switch. And continuing in develloping (too much) games for 3ds, means more chance that the line-up will be Wii-u 2.0 which they can't afford. For two years i said to myself (and especcialy with the switch reveal) with the switch they can at least release far more games then with Wii-u with combound strengths
If they want the switch to be successful, they need to stop with the 3ds. I taught the whole point was, getting all devellopers on one single platform. Let's hope this doesn't explain why the support for switch seems lacking at the moment.
My top 5: 1 dk64 sequel (less collectathon) 2 Metroid prime 4 3 Mario 64 sequel or at least with a grand hub with many things to discover 4 Pokemon switch (not stars but finally the one we al have been waiting for with superb graphics) 5 An amiibo open world game that will add a lot of value to my amiibo purchases
Not all tomorrow of course but in the next years to come!
@Kroko
I agree that that comes in handy, however my point is that it is still misleading. The chart implies that there are twice as much pre-orders for Sun and Moon then for ORAS, while the difference may very well be 5 to 10% (or 1% for all i know) . If there were numbers on the vertical axis you would get a more accurate view of the gap (even with the use of an axis with breaks). nevertheless i get why they present it like this.
These diagrams have much less value than they imply. You get the impression that the pre-order stats for Sun and Moon are twice the amount of ORAS, but since there are no numbers you can't know for sure. Not to mention that they probably used an axis with breaks.
