So, Nintendo gives a GBA version of a game that is already available (for less) on the VC? Meanwhile, The Mysterious Murasame Castle is still MIA on the WiiU. Does anyone actually "think" at Nintendo of America?
@Spoony_Tech ZombiU was actually Ubisoft's best seller on the WiiU. Just Dance is just the easiest thing they can crap out every year to pretend they are supporting the system.
It's funny that people keep saying, "this isn't bad, go out in the real world." That misses the point completely. The point is that it is woman characters that are constantly shown in skimpy outfits, while men are completely clothed. If you can't see that this is done to titillate male gamers, then you don't understand the issue at all.
And please don't start with the men being muscled argument. Big muscles is part of the male empowerment fantasy and not about sexualization. Put Mario in a speedo with an engorged crotch and see how the male gamers respond.
All the male gamers have bravely come forward to announce they have no problem with Samus being reduced to a sex object. Of course, it's no different than the Mario, Luigi, Marth, Captain Falcon, Link, and Pit alternate speedo costumes. Wait, what is it you say? Samus is the only character walking around in her underwear? Nope, no sexism here at all, and I would know because I am a man.
So Zombie U sells 700,000 copies and Just Dance sells 280,000 copies
So Ubisoft learns that Wii U owners only want Just Dance? Think about it for a moment, Ubisoft's best selling Wii U title was an exclusive rated M game, and they think Wii U owners don't want M titles. The logic escapes me.
I was hoping for Mysterious Castle of Murasmae on the WiiU. Maybe if Nintendo had made it an exclusive release they would have made the WiiU more appealing. Instead they insist on drip feeding us VC games that have been available everywhere for years.
@Lz I would be fine with a VC launch with only 8 games if they were titles that weren't already released. The big problem is that Nintendo couldn't be bothered to launch with anything special. They couldn't be bothered to launch with their big guns. Seriously, who wants Ice Climber or Donkey Kong Jr? I'm really curious to know who thought this was an acceptable way to launch a new service.
Wow, I'm a pretty big Nintendo fan, but this is abysmal. How can anyone defend this when the Wii launched with a bigger and better selection? As someone pointed out, all these games can be purchased on the Wii VC so this launch makes even less sense. Why isn't there a single new title? What's the supposed sense in spreading releases out when I can say, "screw it," and switch over to the Wii VC and download? The only reason this is happening is because Nintendo is trying to do the least amount of work possible. They are trying to see how little they can give us and get away with it. Anyone that tries to defend "this" needs to reevaluate their "inner fanboy." This is beyond pathetic and another sign that Nintendo doesn't get it.
You are either being willfully obtuse or just trolling for responses. No one is complaining aboutnthemporting, they are complaining about the 7 month delay. As far as the "it was never an exclusive" nonsens, try this. Go to google, type rayman legends ad, select images, enjoy. Yes, it was an exclusive, but that isn't the point.
Instead we get to listen to the media start another round of Nintendoomed stories. We also get to live with the complete disrespect that Ubi has shown us. if this was really about the fans then where is my WiiU Far Cry 3? Where is the Wii U Watch Dogs and South Park announcements? If it is soooooo essential for all consoles to get the game on the same day, why isn't the George Washinton Assassin's Creed dlc being held back until e WiiU version is ready.
The game is ready and the devlopers are very upset that they worked overtime just to have the suits declare a 7 month hold on the game. I feel sorry for the developer, but there is no way for me to show Ubisoft my disgust for them and still buy the game. The game is going to tank in September because it is going to be a small fish in a big pond. I will buy it used or when it hits the bargain bin. I will not pay full price.
Being an adult, I have learned that you can not let people walk all over you and still be respected. If you are as "adult" as you seem to think you are, you would understand this.
Sigh Why does every developer think they need to add a gimmick for the WiiU. A Straight port would be fine. Just be honest, the WiiU doesn't have a large enough install base to make a port worth doing.
Well, I guess everyone can stop complaining about Unchained Blades now. On second thought, they'll start complaining about $30 for an uninspired, mess of a JRPG that wasn't worth the wait.
Good to see Nintendo is off to a great start supporting the WiiU. Oh, wait.......
I feel really bad for everyone that has been waiting for this. I played it on the PSP and it is really bland and uninspired. I played for a few hours and gave up.
"In our review we gave it a respectable 8/10, did you agree or do you think Heroes of Ruin deserved to do better?"
real nice leading question there. How about a third option - did you think it deserved worse? The answer to that is, yes. The game was stupid easy and had zero replay value thanks to the inability to adjust difficulty. The game deserved to do badly because it wasn't well done.
Played this for about an hour on the Xbox 360 and thought to myself, "what a shock, another first person shooter for the Xbox." The stealth aspect, which many people are talking about, was done much better in the Thief series.
I really hope that the WiiU doesn't end up being another "FPS of the Week" console like the Xbox.
Does anyone remember "Nintendo hard"? It seems Nintendo doesn't. This Mario game is so stupid easy that I would have been really angry if I had paid for it. I understand that Kirby games are supposed to have zero challenge, but Mario was always about lightning reflexes and skill. Not anymore.
People seem to forget that analysts work for investment companies and that what they want (to maximize profits for investors) is not what gamers want (maximize fun). This is why these clowns are pushing iApps and sounding the death knell for consoles, not because it is true, but because that is the direction that they want the market to go in. They see the millions of people with iPhones and tablets and they want the industry to mine that market because they believe that is where the market it. They only care about profit margins and they think (correctly) that consoles are too expensive to develop for so they cheerlead for more Apps. Fortunately, most gamers could care less about what investors want.
Some rooms have secret exits you have to stand at each wall and press the a button a bunch of times to find them. I actually had to search one room twice to find the exit. The instructions should have been clearer on this.
I wouldn't use the Playstation store as a model for digital distribution. Sony overprices games on the PSN and you can often buy the UMD for a tenth of the price of the digital download. There pathetic discount on Vita games is not much better.
Ummm no. We could finally have 3d Pokemon in 3d arenas with an active battle system. We could have customizable trainers with spot pass content and dlc. We could have real orchestral music and voice acting. We could have an actual Pokemon game that plays like a new adventures as opposed to a rehash of 30 year old rpg design. Greed is the only reason we are not getting that.
Seems to me the only people defending the decision to put this on the DS are people that don't own a 3DS. It's been a year since the release of the 3DS and the system has reached critical mass. The only excuse Gamefreak has is that they are lazy. It's. It like a company that has the money Gamefreak does can't afford the production costs of a true 3D version. The reality is that Gamefreak has been recycling content for years. It isn't as if they ever used the full potential of the DS. Nope the reality is that Gamefreak doesn't want to get on the 3DS because they would finally have to deliver good music, good Pokemon sounds, and good graphics. Everyone says that we shouldn't be upset because we can play it on the 3ds. Well I guarantee that we will not get to play it with 3ds sound and graphics. But then, for that to happen, Gamefreak would have to work and it's so much easier to push out the same tired game with outdated combat system and ancient graphics.
It's an industry standard and Nintendo is woefully late to the party with adopting it. Nintendo doesn't "do" voice acting for any artistic reason, they don't so it because it costs money.
I've been playing Zelda games since the original release so I'm not a noob. I just am sick of all the walls of text I have to read when playing a Nintendo game. If I wanted to read, I would read a book. Videogames are a audio-visual medium and Nintendo is still living in the Dark Ages when it comes to innovation.
I did find this amusing from the aricle, "Aonuma stated that if other characters were voiced and Link remained silent, it would only draw more attention to the mute hero." That's how it is already, isn't it?
Yet they didn't get it just right. The graphics are terrible (remind me of the N64) and are filled with jagged lines, pixilation, and bland textures. Worst is the almost complete lack of voice acting. What year is this again? Oh, right, Nintendo is always given a pass for not meeting industry standards. Well, they learned from the 3DS that they actually have to work in today's market, hopefully they will modernize their approach with the Wii U, if not, they are going to find themselves in a very bad place again.
Seems to me that Miyamoto is part of the problem. He is responsible for so much innovation, but I think he stuck in the past. That is exactly what playing Skyward Sword feels like - a great game that is stuck in the past.

Re: Nintendo Download: 27th November (North America)
Thomas for $10.99. It's been on sale for 99 cents on Steam and PSN. These developers really need to learn to be more competitive with their pricing.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th November (North America)
@manu0
I do have an original 3DS and the NES games are way too small for my eyesight.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th November (North America)
Swapper was around $5 on Steam last week, not paying 4x the price for it on WiiU.

ZombiU was actually Ubisoft's best seller on the WiiU. Just Dance is just the easiest thing they can crap out every year to pretend they are supporting the system.

I just put my Wrecking Crew code in and received a redemption receipt email. I guess it works.
Re: Thomas Was Alone to Make Friends With Wii U in November
Way too easy and 9.99 is a bit high considering it was going for 99 cents on the PSn not too long ago.

They couldn't even deliver the off-screen patch to the American audience. Not interested in supporting them.

No, Murasame castle for Wii U. It's like Nintendo isn't even trying anymore.

@Bishasaurus What Master P said. The only thing that would be remotely close would be a Captain Falcon speedo costume showing off his "package".

@antonvaltaz gets it.

Nope, not the same thing at all. If you can't see the difference, you're part of the problem.
