Re: Talking Point: New Ideas, Not New IPs, Are The Key for Nintendo

Alright man, chill. We all know WiiU has more quality games than that, Like Arkham, for example, also I noticed you made no mention of the eShop, which is full of amazing titles, don't let your frustration lead you to make intentionally false claims, it will in the end do nothing but embarrass you and as a whole it makes the community look bad.

Nintendo has always been about innovation, and with innovation inevitably comes trial and error. Have patience, have you seen any Nintendo E3 footage? Great games are coming!

Re: Talking Point: New Ideas, Not New IPs, Are The Key for Nintendo

Hmm, very interesting article. What struck me the most is the Intelligent Systems bit, fans demanding two separate things to happen at once really isn't possible. Nintendo fans are the most picky, in my opinion.

Nintendo's doing right as far as first-party games are concerned, I think what alot of fans(especially older ones) want is some kind of reassurance that currently 'dead' franchises(F-Zero) will come back, they've adopted a sort of 'all aboard' mentality, wanting new IPs and experiences, willing to take risks on them, but not wanting to lose anything in the process. Essentially, they want Nintendo to manage the franchises it already has first, before they begin new ones.

As for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., I, myself as a younger gamer, am extremely excited for this game's release, I've never played Wave Race, F-Zero, or even Star Fox, my first Nintendo console was a Wii, so the franchises I'm familiar with are Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, Mario(and his many off-shoots), and, last year, Fire Emblem(which quickly became my favorite), so I can't say I understand why so many people are adamant about this franchises return, and as such I'll reserve any judgement until I play them someday.

In closing, it doesn't matter what you want: New IPs or the complete revival of old ones, just pick one and stay with it so Nintendo can find out what the majority of its customers want, Nintendo rarely goes in the completey opposite direction of what its supporters want.

Guys! We're so close! Spring ends June 19! I hope this doesn't get delayed.

EDIT: VD Dev Games announced on their Twitter page the game launch has been delayed out of Spring. Dang it.

Re: Video: Musician Lindsey Stirling Dresses Up As Aurora From Child Of Light, Because Why Not?

@Chi

That's not true at all.

Linsdey Stirling is an amazing dancer, violinist, and person and is anything but 'fake' or 'commercialized', I had the extreme pleasure of meeting her in person, and thus I am shocked at the absolute lies people have been saying in the comments above.

You guys should be ashamed of youselves, you see someone with talent and feel the need to bring them down to your low level in an attempt to make yourself feel better, it's childishly pathetic.

@siavm

Oh, shut up. You have no idea what you're talking about.

These people worked for years on this, while you wrote your idiotic comment in 30 seconds whilst you took a ****.

Play Brawl if you want, but don't for no good reason, blatantly and unjustly attack someone's passion for something. It's pathetic, childish, and immoral.

If you think you can just talk crap like that, you're wrong, you're a pathetic, stupid moron with no respect for talent. Hope your Wii breaks.

Re: World Record Speed Runner Just Can't Stop Playing Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

WinterWarm

@Royalblues

Well, let me be clear:

There's a difference between an athletic sport and just a sport.

For instance: Baseball is an athletic sport.

Speedrunning simply qualifies because there is at least some PHYSICAL activity. Moving your hands to compete does, in the strictest sense, qualify as a sport, just not an athletic one.

In addition, words have changed since the first Olympics in 1802( or at least, I think that was the first Olympics), I mean, texting slang is being added to more and more dictionaries that have been around since the 19th century( like the Websters Dictionary).

So, in conclusion, in a world where 'twerk' has been added to dictionaries, I think it's only fair to allow leeway as to what is called a 'sport', especially since it may not be an athletic sport.

Re: The Nintendo 2DS Was The UK's Best-Selling Console Last Week

WinterWarm

@Bray42 True. Still, it's pretty impressive Nintendo turned around the situation like this. They turned a weak spot in 3DS marketing into a new, best-selling console!

@globalisateur

Oh hush, Nintendo's released several public and official statements saying they plan to keep utilising 3D. And really, Nintendo is supporting 3D with this move. Now developers can use 3D without being worried about the possibly eye-damaging 3D that might happen to younger players, especially if the game is geared toward young children. So really, Nintendo gave developers more reason to use 3D, because the 2DS automatically disables 3D. So really, when you look at it logically and not unreasonably dramatically like you were doing, Nintendo took a step to insure more 3D-inabled games. Not the other way around.
