@Jazzer94 Well yes, that does change the situation considerably, doesn't it... All I'm saying is, fraud or not, I still think this was somewhat political.
Also whatever people freely give money to fund is entirely their choice, but yes, it does seem unfair one man receives $60,000.00 for potato salad while ingenious independent artists( music, video games, film ) struggle financially.
I'm surprised New Super Mario Bros. 2 wasn't on the list! Especially since it has local co-op, allowing parent and child to play together, it's easier than 3D Land, too, since it's only 2D.
Russia invaded Crimea( A Ukrainian territory ) temporarily, and then left, but not before they riled up pro-Russian rebels in the region, so now Ukraine has a rebel force consisting of its own citizens backed by Russia, as is evident with the downing of the Malaysian flight, which was flying at an altitude of 37,000 feet, the rebels had previously only possessed missiles capable of reaching 5,000 feet, however the plane was shot down in Ukraine air space by a surface-to-air missile system later confirmed by analysts to be a BUK Launcher, a BUK Launcher's missiles are capable of reaching 60,000+ feet, furthermore, Russia openly admits to owning BUK Launcher systems, although obviously they denied supplying the Ukrainian rebels with any. Over 290 people died on that flight.
So, yes, in the same way some Europeans( Not whole nations, but rather individuals ) support ISIS, an extreme Islamic group in the Middle East that currently controls a significant portion on Syria, it's not insane to 'believe' certain parties and or peoples would be extreme enough to threaten a Ukrain-based developer simply for being just that: A Ukraine-based developer, it's a different racism than what's usual in the U.S. A news YouTube channel named The Young Turks has done an excellent job covering the crisis in Ukraine, if you'd care to learn more.
@Unca_Lz I can't speak for 'originally' as this is the first I'd heard of this, all I know is they said in their response they were based in Ukraine... Perhaps they also have an office here, I was given the impression they were a small, independent company, however.
@FragRed What the ****? Kickstarter is in the wrong here morally, not West Games, WG did nothing wrong except being located in Ukraine, which drew hate from irrational Russian and pro-Russian radicals. What message exactly did you mean for your comment to convey?
@Teejay It's not just because she's similar to Marth that people are mad, but she is definitely a fan favorite from FE:A and fans wanted her to be unique, I understand their frustration at this somewhat let-down.
I was kinda let down he(Chrom) wasn't going to be playable, but I kind of agree with Sakurai-san on this one, the more I look back on it, the more I see Chrom really wouldn't bring anything fresh to Smash. :/
Regardless I'm not going go play as Marth at all, this is my first Smash, so Lucina's similarity will be lost on me and I will experience her as if she's one of a kind, because for me, she is.
@Sherman Awesome. XD
I'm flat-out sick of Marth, he's not in the limelight anymore, YOU SKIPPED 1000 YEARS STOP SUPPORTING THIS CHARACTER.
Also, I know it'd be hard to craft a moveset for her, but I wanna see Tiki in SSB5.
@2Sang I never thought of custom-movesets as a solution to this problem! That's brilliant, the problem would truly be solved if Lucina had an Amiibo(Did I say that right?) figure.
@Mus1cLov3r Ha, I'm in that same position, I've been wanting to get MH3U for a few weeks, although, you could pay for shipping and have it delivered to your address. If your local GameStop offers that. I know all the ones in Ohio do.
No, NintendoLife is the only Nintendo community/site I'm a part of, I've yet to see a reason to join another, NL's got everything, plus it's a popular site, so they get previews on games and interviews with devs.
@MadMan4230 Pardon me, but your comment is idiotic. Are you serious? Free? Where have you been the past 40 years video games have been around? Shut up, get educated and back when you have half a brain, noob.
I agree with Miyamoto-san. One amazing, creative, one of a kind game comes along, and all the other games in the genre copy it for a few years until something else amazing comes along. Too many developer disguise copying as 'inspiration'.
Yep, last time I checked, anyway, I suppose they could've changed it, I don't have the demo anymore, though, music/rhythm games are too linear for me, I prefer freedom in gameplay.
To each his own, I suppose.
No, not yet, with all the fantastic first-party retail and eShop games that've come out in the last year, it's been constantly pushed back on my wish-list, haha. What about you? Made a decision yet?
@Mus1cLov3r Yes, Theatrhythm! I don't know why I couldn't remember.
Yeah, it got pretty annoying, I didn't mind Project X Zone's voiceovers though, I don't why they just didn't irritate me really, ah, of course, RPGs are the best genre!
I'll just say it: Tablet and mobile games are not games, they are cheap, mainly free temporary entertainment devices.
A 3 year old most likely owns a 'educational tablet' than a Kindle or an iPad, one that teaches math, grammar or social skills through 'games', granted the odds of that decrease with each year the child ages, thus further deluding this study.
I ask you, were your emotions ever stirred by a good game of Bejeweled? Now, how did you feel when you watched someone commit suicide in Fire Emblem Awakening? See, because it's(mobile) not a game, it's distraction.
Mobile gaming will never, ever defeat handheld titles. As Reggie Fils-Aime put it at this E3: "Those of us who play games know there's nothing quite like them in the world." No one feels or speaks that strongly about Flappy Bird.
Further, one could make the argument that a solely mobile gamer( iOS, Android, Windows ), is not a gamer at all. Why? Because mobile gaming is not gaming, gaming is something you look forward to, mobile 'gaming' is a time-killer.
I'll say it again, mobile gaming in and of itself does not exist. Mobile games save a few are not to be even considered when the topic of video games arises.
I agree, between Digital Rights Management( DRM ) and Nintendo's new stance of sample conent, you can't help but be frustrated, what I find interesting is that not all demos on the 3DS eShop have:
A. The same number of uses.
B. Limits on playtime.
Rather, the Final Fantasy title demo who names escapes me at this moment, has unlimited uses.
This means Nintendo is not forcing developers to have restrictions, but that the developers themselves are choosing to do this, how does that create customer loyalty, I ask you?
In regard to the second half on your post and your question:
The Wii certainly didn't( or, doesn't ) have demo restrictions.
I myself don't own a WiiU(yet), so I personally can't tell you, but I can't imagine Nintendo not doing the same, especially since both online store share the same surname, if you will.
I wouldn't exactly call it niche. Steampunk's very popular with younger p people(such as myself), and subsequently, that's Nintendo's target demographic.
@Kirk Yes, granted you know what you see, but what you or anyone has seen on S.T.E.A.M. is very little. Best to reserve judgement until a a definitive gameplay trailer is released.

Re: Mario Kart 8's Hackers Open Up Over Their Plans and Ethical Dilemma
Hmm, interesting, I've never heard of this hacking duo..
Re: Feature: Kickstarter's Wii U and 3DS Campaigns - 13th August
TimeSpinner, The Rite From The Stars, and The Deer God all look really interesting. Thank you to NL for bringing this back!
Re: Review: LEGO Ninjago: Nindroids (3DS)
Better than I expected, to be honest.
Re: The Letter Plummets to a New Low With eShop Discount
@MadAdam81 Actually, $10,000 รท 2 = $5,000, not $1,000.
Re: Cyber Gadget Unveils Gigantic Joystick Peripheral for 3DS XL
Ehh. I wasn't optimistic about that stick-on analog thing NL pointed out would be useful for Momster Hunter, but this... Just no. It looks RIDICULOUS.
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th August (North America)
Cybernator sounds like a good time, I hope it'll come to the 3DS sometime in the near future.
I might pick up Samurai Sword Destiny, given its' discount. The reviews were a bit to harsh to justify its' price tag, IMO.
Thanks for the great article!
Re: Feature: The Ten Best 3DS Games For Your Kids This Summer
I'm surprised New Super Mario Bros. 2 wasn't on the list! Especially since it has local co-op, allowing parent and child to play together, it's easier than 3D Land, too, since it's only 2D.
Re: Renegade Kid Announces Metroidvania Game Xeodrifter for 3DS eShop
Fantastic! Renegade Kid gets better with every release!
Re: Shovel Knight is Burying Sales Expectations
@zip Yeah, too bad they took away the OLED in the Slim version. :/
Anyway I'll be buying this soon!
Re: Dan Adelman Formally Launches New Independent Business
Sad. It's unfortunate that he felt he didn't have enough freedom or breathing room at Nintendo...

Re: Collectorvision Announces Justice Beaver for Wii U eShop and Super Nintendo
@Shiryu XD Nice.
This is actually really cool, I'd heard a few years qgo about devs doing releases on super old systems, I think is kinda wierd, but whatever.
Re: Looks Like You Can Only Install 300 Games And Apps On Your 3DS
Not really a concern, especially since you can save your data now thanks to the system update.
I mean, think about it, are you really going to be playing, like, 275 games at once? Are there even that many good games on the eShop?!
Re: Review: Strike Force Foxx (3DS eShop)
It's wierd but... This review kinda made me want it more than before.... It's been Wish-List-ed.

What do you mean 'believe'? It's undeniable!

@torotoid64 Your comment sounds like someone having a stroke, II don't even know if you were speaking those words as you typed them.
I hope they try a 2D Zelda again..
Re: Shovel Knight Has an Unlockable "Butt Mode"
I just love video games.
This beats the SNES Mortal Combat 'blood code'.
Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd July (North America)
@CrazyOtto I sincerely hope you were joking when you said that... NOA is certainly done with the Nintendo Wii. Seriously.
Anyway, if I were to get anything it'd be Shovel Knight.
