@Majora101 I think we may get GTA V as it’s now 3rd on the largest selling game list (according to The Know), a switch port would really help it gain ground.
I still have faith we will be in for a few surprises.Would love a Mario 3D All Stars including Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy doubt it would happen though. Think our mario fix will a deluxe port of Mario Maker hopefully now with slanted tiles.
Master System: Alex Kidd in Miracle World Hang-on Mega Drive: Streets of Rage 2 Sonic (has to be) Saturn: Sega Rally Nights Dreamcast Sonic Adventure Shenmue Arcade: Daytona Altered Beast
I agree the Switch should have a long life cycle, this current gen has made a lot of people mad with the revisions to PS4 and Xbox after all consoles cost 100s so to feel the need to replace one so soon doesn’t feel fair. To keep the ball rolling this the switch it needs to cater for the teenagers who just want FPS and Fifa (here in the uk anyway). CoD collection, Overwatch etc plus maybe a free type game like fortnight and focus marketing on local multiplayer some the other console don’t really promote. Keep the 3ds going but change it’s focus to a sort of my first console simple games for younger children. Most importantly though keep up the high quality releases don’t just rely on ports.
I hope there is another direct soon, for me the mini didn’t hold much interest. I have a Wii U and the games they porting, not keen on M+R and none of the indie games take my fancy. Want to try Payday 2 and Dark Souls but not at £50, only Kirby was of any interest. But even feeling like this I think it was a good direct. I’m not sure if/when the full direct airs but i think it will focus on the online structure/vc. I do believe it the info will be wedged between two games. First I hope will be a FPS maybe Overwatch or CoD collection (not a FPS fan but the console needs some) followed by a first party/second party game we don’t know about, don’t think it will be smash yet as the mini was port heavy.
As I said earlier double edge sword what would you change no new games just replace some ports. I would replace DKTF with Mario Maker (cash in on the Mario hype) and also replace Dark Souls with the Modern Warefare Collection. I’m not a fan of CoD but to really shift consoles at least here in the UK a good FPS is needed to attract the youth.
So it finally landed and what a double edge sword it was. If you never had a Wii U DKTF is great. Hyrule Warriors port wasn’t needed as Fire Emblem Warriors is still fairly new. The World Ends with You was a nice surprise but again a port of an old game. Ys again a nice surprise but a bit niche, Mario Tennis could be good but why Mario Football would have been more exciting. Payday 2 again another port we’ve known about for a while. Dark Souls not sure what to make of this never played it wouldn’t mind trying but will now doubt be £50 when I could try it for a fiver on another console. Kirby and Fe are what they are and we’ve known of them for abit. As for DLC it’s all good, if the price is ok on the Pokemon Waves.
Think this will have a focus on selling units this christmas, SWITCH: Will get release dates for Xenoblade 2, Rocket League and Skyrim, a sizzle reel for sports game Fifa/NBA/WWE, sizzle reel for other releases (Payday 2 etc) Mario Odyssey Mario and Fire Emblem Warriors mini features. Updates: Arms available after the direct, Splatoon new rank mode + weapons DLC: Mario x Rabbids and Zelda BoTW release dates New Third Party game: Maybe something like a CoD Collection
System Update: Includes youtube support for the capture button, new themes, Apps (Youtube & Netflix)
Acccessories sizzle reel: MicroSD Cards, Mini Dock, Case/Stand that improves the battery life.
Online plan announced, date and price + features
VC Announcement showing off NES, SNES, MEGA DRIVE games, Retro joycon announced ends with 1 GameCube game announced with release date and announces Saturn or Dreamcast games coming soon
Its really hard to predict now we hear the direct will be around 30mins. I think Arms and Splatoon 2 will be the focus of the Treehouse along with any 3DS stuff.
I think Mario Odyssey will take up to 10 mins of the direct, then will be 4/5 sections lasting upto 5 mins.
3rd Party Showcase (Starts with Fifa ends with a Skyrim release)
Wii U Ports/Deleuxe (Smash & Mario Maker)
Indies
Fire Emblem Warriors
Suprise 3rd Party teaser COD WWII or Battlefront 2
Xenoblade 2
And One final thing - From Retro Studios goes black and we see through a visor goes black Coming Q1 2018
Loved this direct, don't have a Switch yet (was waiting till nearer Christmas) however this direct may have changed that. Also think this maybe a good sign for E3 as I imagine they will do another direct like this for Splatoon 2 (so should only see a little at E3) so will hopefully have room for a major surprise..... whispers Metroid
Understand some of the bigger names not being on here but there are some player I would have thought would be included that aren't. Isaiah Thomas Senior (and Jnr come to think about it), Gary Payton (Kemp but no Payton is just wrong), Paul Pierce I could go on and on. Although this is a decent size roster and when I get a switch it will be a day one purchase.
Although I don't think this will happen this year, as it will be the real Switchmas it is defo coming. My games would be: Super Mario World Super Maria Kart Super Mario World 2 Super Mario RPG Zelda link to the Past Starfox F Zero Super Metroid Super Punchout Kirby Superstar Pilot wings Earthbound Donkey Kong Country Street Fighter 2 Turbo Turtles in Time Final Fight 2 Super Tennis NBA Jam Super Soccer Contra 3 Castlevania 4 Bust a Move Secret of Mana Chronic Trigger
Would never happen but think this a good mix with a lot of multi player games.
Rather than one game ported I would love to see something like a Donkey Kong Jungle-Stars including DK Country (SNES), DK64 (if possible), DK Country Returns and DK Tropical Freeze collection. As a straight port I would love a Smash Bros one which includes features/modes from both the Wii U and 3DS version and maybe a HD remake of one of the streets of rage type modes from either the Gamecube or Wii version.
I don't have the switch (yet) but played this at an event, I see peoples point about this mabe not being a true sequal but other franchises do just fine with a simular formula. What we must all remember is we have no idea if or what other features/game modes will be included. Would love a Splatoon run gun (like contra) type mode done in a simular style to mario 3d land.... I know Im dreaming!
Its amazing that someone in this day and age can be so generous, hope who ever wins doesn't just try and flip it. Like myself there are many out there who want a Switch but either can't afford one or have been unable to find in stores or online at the correct price.
Good luck everyone, again thank you to wonderful member of the community for this opportunity.
Manchester with my son can't wait! not pre-ordering as I want to wait until there is more games that I want (getting zelda on wii u) however after playing it that may well change
When smash comes to switch, which I think will be in 2018 will be be announced at E3 which will be via a new challenger announcement which will be The Inklings. I think it will be a port with the 3ds game modes added. I also think they will add a character from Arms and add a move to Mario that uses his hat
Think Nintendo need to produce the following directs and broadcast them once a week for the next couple of weeks:
1. Launch Titles trailers and info 2. eShop/VC + what happens to downloaded games you already own
Then mid Feb a direct that re-shows the above along with a simple but informative look at the console (produced for each region not dubbed)
This way it will help keep the hype up, give more people the chance to learn about the Switch (keep it trending, people talking on facebook and kicking about on youtube) 3.
No sure on this, I own street fighter 2 and different versions across different consoles. Fighting games for me are better as local co op not online and the calling the new Ryu and ken new characters are stretching things a bit, although if it's a budget(ish) title I will give it ago
The really scaring thing that's putting me off pre-ordering is lack of great launch titles (at least at the moment) and the price off additional joy-cons and the pro controller over £60 each is madness
Yo have to be a die hard Zelda fan to even consider pre-ordering after the presentation. Now before I get any hate I got up at 4am to watch it and had nintendo and games website up ready to pre order. However the launch line up well lack of is making me wait! Will get Zelda day 1 but on the Wii u. This may change depending on today's events. Plus the price of 279.99 here in the U.K is to much for a console which seems to be mainly ports of games I have or have played for the near future at least
The art style is bit much of a change maybe, but like the two games before it story and game play are key... Hopefully this will be out this year as soon as it is I will get the switch, if I don't already have it that is.
Sure this will play well and has some interesting ideas but not sure I like Mario jumping around between typical styled levels/areas to ones which are trying to be more realistic. Although I will get it and no doubt love the gamplay for some reason it reminded me of Sonic 06 as that tried to put a cartoon character in a more real looking world
Im ok with this as long as its future proofed (say support for up to 512Gb), hopefully they will have a way of downloading game updates to a games cartridge leaving the extra storage for downloaded games/vc titles etc
If this is the launch line up not sure it will help attract that many people. Steep out elsewhere, Minecraft's already out, Lego already on Wii U and coming to others, Sonic will be on everything off this I dont see why people would buy it if they already have a console at this price.
It will change by christmas it will have Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, FireEmblem Warriors, Fifa18, Skyrim etc plus a small price drop and will sell like mad
Cost and poor release line up (Zelda i will get on the Wii U) means I will wait till around summer I think. Unless some more release titles are announced over the next few days. Really feel something like nintendoland should be included at that cost
My five for lauch would be: Breath of the Wild Fire Emblem Warriors New Metroid Xenoblade Chronicles x2 (not going to happen but can dream) Splat2n not a port, but a new game with more of everything
What I hope to see/find out 1. Price of 200 pounds (i can dream) 2. Multi-Touch Screen 3. eShop to included all previous systems expect wii u 4. eShop linked so previous purchased vc/indie/wii u software is downloaded for free for Wii U owners 5. Cheap way of getting ports of wii u games if you own the disc 6. All current vc games on the wii u available day one + a selection of 5 cube game 7. 1st Party Launch Games: Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem Warriors, Pikmin 4 8. 1st Party Advanced Ports: Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 9. 3rd Party: Fifa16, CoD 10. Future games: Super Mario Switch, Smash Bros, Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X2, Skyrim, Final Fantasy 7. 11. Big Surprise: Red Dead Redemption 2 (another dream)
I know ive missed some like the rabbids game but this is what I would love to see
