Ganryu is a good Ninja Gaiden clone on the Neo Geo with awesome graphics. This sequel might have good gameplay, but its graphics look like a mobile game.
Anyone looking for a Ninja Gaiden clone on the Switch should play Cyber Shadow and Oniken first. Both are excellent!

It's no big loss, as these games are a dime a dozen, even on the Switch. I didn't even get the first Pillars of Eternity.
I recommend the following Switch games that are in the same genre (PC RPG):

Planescape Torment
Icewind Dale
Divinity: Original Sin II

The PSP disc Taito Legends Power-Up contains 21 games. I think that's the portable Taito arcade collection I'd recommend most!

Why? The old SNES games look better than Octopath Traveller and the remake of A Live Evil. Instead of rehashing old games, Square should try to make a good new game. But maybe they don't know how to do that anymore...

Shovel Knight and Cyber Shadow are two of the top twenty games of the 8th console generation, so I'm definitely looking forward to Shovel Knight Dig and Mina the Hollower, both of which look like masterpieces!

It's a big turn-off for me when a game puts so much emphasis on blood spatter.

This game was never good to begin with. I hope it's less boring on Switch.

I rarely say that a platformer is worthy of Mario, but the Klonoa games are just that!

It would be ridiculous if we got the bland, mediocre Call of Duty on Switch before we got far superior Metroid Prime.
I don't need COD when it's already been announced that the best FPS series will be coming to Switch this year. I hope we get all four Metroid Prime games, because those are bound to be the top four FPSs of all time.

My favorite videogame title is Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi – Owaranai Nanokakan no Tabi.

Nintendo would be stupid to end the Switch's life cycle while it's easily beating its competitors. And, as Satoru Iwata said during the Wii U era, "we have reached peak graphics". So I see no reason to have a 9th generation at all.

PS5 and XboxX are off to a pretty good start, but they can't go on like that. Triple-A Switch games can be made in a matter of months, whereas triple-A PS5/XboxX games take up to a decade and still turn out to be buggy messes. They need games and their consoles take too long to develop games for. The same problem caused the demise of the Sega Saturn.

The PS5 and XboxX are going to be colossal failures.

Mario and Zelda are worth more than all other videogames combined.

Great article, as usual! You, Alex, Zion, Jon and others here do a fine job of keeping things rational and avoiding conforming to rest of the gaming world and its obsession with super-realistic graphics and ultra-smooth frame rates.
The graphics matter in that they should look good, but they don't have to be state-of-the-art stuff. To me, Shovel Knight and Cyber Shadow have far better graphics than Final Fantasy XV and God of War (PS4). You can have a huge budget at your disposal and still fail to make a good-looking game, because you have no taste and no talent, as is the case with most Playstation and Xbox developers.

Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time are two of the top ten most addictive games I've ever played, so I can understand why this video focused on the N64.

I'm glad they put the overworld in. Otherwise it would have been just a clone of Dandy, the 1983 game for the Atari 8-bit computer, and its sequel Gauntlet from 1985. The overworld exploration is what makes Zelda stand out, along with the excellent combat and dungeons.

They should release these old Rare N64 games on the eshop. I want to download the games onto my SD card.

You sound like someone who hasn't tried both versions. The PS2 versions had small, negligible glitches. These "remasters" have a lot more glitches that are far more annoying.

I'll be buying this as I can never resist buying Zelda clones!

I always though Kirby was a concept better suited to 3D than to 2D, because his ability to suck up enemies makes the 2D games too easy, whereas in a 3D game that ability will make the game less hard because enemies can attack from all directions, including places that are invisible to the player, which balances the difficulty.

The only one that you mentioned and that I would buy is Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Sony handhelds were great for emulation but they couldn't compete with the stellar game libraries of the DS and 3DS.

The PSP had a lot of great games, but the DS had Super Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros, Dragon Quest IX, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Metroid Prime Pinball, Golden Sun III, Contra 4, etc.

The PS Vita had some great games but got blown away by the 3DS and its library of gems such as Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, A Link Between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64, The Alliance Alive, Dragon Quest VII, Dragon Quest VIII, Fire Emblem Awakening, and so on...

You say "don't sleep on this one", but you should have told me yesterday. Last night, I fell asleep unaware that I was lying on the cartridge of this game.

I cried eight times when I realized how stupid the entire series was.

1) Metroid Prime Trilogy
2) Super Mario Galaxy 2
3) Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn

Goldeneye 007 isn't even a top-three FPS on the N64. Turok, Turok 2 and Perfect Dark are all better.

Nights Into Dreams isn't a good game, but I'd definitely be interested in the others, especially the Dark Souls sequels.

Wave Race 64 is one of the most overrated games of all time, probably because of nostalgia. It's a good game, but nothing special. Jet Moto on the PS1 is just as good, and Hydro Thunder on the N64 is better.

Metroid Prime Trilogy really needs to come to Switch! Also Wind Waker and Twilight Princess!
