Re: There's Still One Way To Get Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Digital Version After 31st March

Yeah people sure have romanticised ideas of Nintendo from the past.

They have always had the capability to be ruthless and make bad decisions.

But this one is not anti-consumer, everyone knew the facts in advance and could plan appropriately.

As I have said before this wouldn't really be a celebration of 35 years of Mario if the games/products celebrating it were available forever.

Re: Reminder: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Leaves The eShop On March 31st

@SalvorHardin

This is a game collection to mark the 35th Anniversary. It wouldn't mark the occasion if the collection was around forever.

Also there have been millions of physical copies sold so it has hardly been a limited run nevermind the 6 odd months people have been able to purchase the digital copy.

Plus the three games will no doubt be available on the eshop for seperate purchase at some stage.

To sum up: It aint that big of a deal.

Hmmm, fair enough. I just saw the Rumours tag at the top of the article.

Suppose it is news that Bloomberg reported this so that is technically correct as well.

Still not understanding what would be irresponsible about it though, what can people do with this information that negatively affects them in any way?

Re: UK Charts: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Returns To Number One On Its Anniversary

Yeah that is true too. The charts worldwide are filled with 7 or 8 non movers it seems in their top tens. Even the Japanese weekly charts has the same 7 or 8 non movers in the top 10 each week and most new games are in for a week or two then disappear.

Will find out next week if MH Rise will be an evergreen title or shine brightly for a few weeks then disappear. My money is on the latter certainly in the west.

The shadow draw-in is so distracting, should be an option to turn if off altogether.

As for the bit about framerates, I have no issue with 30fps if it is consistent but 60fps is far superior and improves how responsive a game feels to play whilst also looking much smoother.
It is apparent Chris doesn't consider it a big deal but that is why people like to know what the framerate is and I appreciate it being addressed in the game's review so thanks.

Yep, for everyone who said RE4 took the scares away just didn't realise it was a different kind of scare. That opening village section was completely panic inducing and no other game has replicated it before or since for me.

And it could still deliver the classic RE scares as well with the Regenerators, the section with Ashley and the sewer section with Verdugo stalking you.

But one Game+ run later and I enter the village like a one man wrecking ball and destroy all around me and it is even more fun!

What.A.Game.

Gonna start a new run this evening!

I do find it odd people mention COD and GTA V always being there as strange but don't say the same about Mario Kart 8 or Animal Crossing or Minecraft Switch, all of which are now over a year old some near 4 years old. This happens every week and again in the comments today.

My only take away from it is that people think it is OK if it is a game they like that has been in the top 10 for an abnormally long time but when it is a game they are not fond of, such as GTA or COD, then it is strange.

I think it just shows people's unconcious bias.

Edit: Also the start of the year is quiet for big new releases so the chart will just be the evergreen sellers swapping order depending on stock/sale prices until there is an increase in new releases.

@nessisonett

Yep there are so many games over the years I was unable to play just because developers left out the option to remap all the controls and even when they included options for left handed people they missed the point.

Best example is first person shooters, games like Doom included an option for southpaw but all they did was swap the sticks and for some reason swap the trigger buttons so I shoot with L now instead of R ( why?). But they keep the jump button at A.... how am I meant to jump with A whilst walking with the right analogue stick?!

As I said the system level button mapping all 3 console makers have implemented the last few years has been a revelation.
