That and the fact Microsoft are tying their first party next gen games (when they finally come out) to a significantly weaker new gen console which has never made sense to me but maybe it will work out in the long run.

At least the PS5 digital is as poweful as the disc version and once Sony move on from PS4 the first party exclusives could really show off the power of their next gen console and show up Microsoft's offerings.

Switch meanwhile will just keep on doing its thang!

Don't forget the Series S is cheaper than the Switch (proper Switch).

However I don't think the demand is there for that console. Took weeks for its pre-order stock to be used up at least in the UK. I think that console been a misstep by Microsoft and they should have focused only on Series X.

Really strong month for Sony and Nintendo in the US

Switch most units sold in Jan since 2010, PS5 most revenue in Jan since 2009.

Microsoft in a weird position with having two very different consoles with one being $200 less but Xbox seems to be stuck in third in the country where it actually is a popular brand.

Can't judge yet with all the stock issues for Sony and Microsoft that don't seem to be resolving any time soon.

Switch still killing it.

Issue is even when Nintendo does release the classic 3D Zeldas you can bet you bottom dollar they will remain 30fps.

Pity, as 60fps does make everything better.

Metacritic is just a collection of a bunch of peoples opinions on a game. Who cares? I mean Resident Evil 4 isn't even the no.1 game which shows how pointless that website is!

My opinion of a game is all that is important to me. 3D World on Wii U was a straight 10 out of 10 to me so the same game with increased speed and an extra bonus game mode means it will still be a 10 out of 10 on Switch.

Stop getting hung up on people liking a game more or less than you whether they be reviewers or someone else.

I think Rise could do well over a million week one, the hype is there for it and it is the first new portable MH game in years. That mixed with the Switch just being THE console right now in Japan I see it selling like crazy.

88K obviously a great number but a quite a bit of a drop off from previous weeks.

Be interesting to see 3D World's performance next week, I imagine it will easily beat the original game's debut and take the no.1 spot.

The 7 year old game runs at a rock solid 60fps.

The 30fps is for the NEW open world bonus game and only in handheld mode.

Mario 3D World by itself is a straight 10 out of 10 game. Anyone who thinks different? Meh I don't care, do what you want.

I mean it would not be a shocking revelation so pretty sure it's true.

Nintendo did it the other way around. They released all their old games at full price on their new console.

PS5 and Series S/X do that for free woth backwards compat and usually with better performance. I would rather pay full price for a brand new game also released on old hardware than full price for an old game funnily enough. To be clear though I have bought a number of the Wii U ports on my Switch.

Tropical Freeze costing 10 pound more than it ever did on Wii U! So who is really price gouging?
