Am i the only person that wants a Switch Pro? And by Pro, i dont mean a more powerful refresh, i just want one with a 500GB HDD and a Pro controller, no screen or joycons. Just a home console. Surely this could cut some price off the main machine, and they could also release a Mini alongside as well eventually
@Vineleaf That is exactly right and what I am saying. Sometimes a main franchise doesn't hit it off with everyone, you happened to like Star Fox Adventures. I'm sure many people did. And it would have been enjoyed by more people had the core audience shut up about it not being the game they wanted. I think it's good that Nintendo are trying new things, and I also believe they need to stop having Mario spin offs all the time, why not spin off some other franchises besides Mario and Kirby? What about a Fire Emblem game that's played like an elder scrolls game. Or a Star Fox racer, or yes even a Metroid roller ball ..... Thing.... Why not? It sure preserves the main series games a place in history other than that game that was once good, but then got done to death. Or screwing with the main gameplay so much that the sequels become unrecognisable to how they began (Resident Evil anyone?)
Prime was a departure and it paid off, why shouldn't this? Based purely because it's not a "proper" metroid game, of which when was the last one that wasn't a Prime game btw, the Snes, the argument that this game is terrible because it's not an update to beloved franchise is illogical. I mean, it's not a puzzler or a party game (cough animal crossing cough cough).
Does that really matter though if it turns out to be a good game? That's what I don't understand. I understand there should be uncertainty, look what happened to Star Fox Adventures when it went off the beaten path, but there sure are a lot of other spin off games that have done well for themselves. Nearly all great Nintendo games like Mario Kart and the Super Mario series 3D and 2D experiment with all sorts of gameplay. The paper Mario series it quite good. The Mario and Luigi series is also good. I just think it's rough to give the game a hard time. Give the presentation a hard time sure, but the hate toward a game that actually looks like a lot of fun and could turn out quite well, just because it doesn't fit in with the classic themes of the main series, which it obviously isn't trying to recreate being outlined as a spin off and all, it's a bit unjust. And bandwagoning.
I don't know what all the fuss is. Yeah it was a lacklustre e3 for Nintendo after last years excellent showing. But the metroid hate is going way too far. I've never been into any of the games, from the NES and SNES to the Prime games, nor did I play Other M which I do regret as it seemed more my style of game than the others. But this Federation Force actually has me interested even though I don't play first person shooters at all. It could just be because I'm having so much fun with Splatoon that this game kind of gels with me at the moment. But wow, so much negativity about it. Honesty I would have preferred it on the Wii U as I'm not upgrading my 3DS to cater to FPS second stick gameplay. That, and my 3DS just doesn't get used any more I am growing out of it as it just doesn't do the things I need a portable device to do. But I am always on my Wii U, so I am dissapointed there isn't much to show in that regard. No I don't want an Animal Crossing party game. I haven't liked Star Fox games in the past but seeing Platinum games is at the helm I'm very interested now. But no online seems weird and old fashioned, which is good for some games, but Star Fox lends itself to an online experience. Nintendo just can't seem to get it right. They needed a Shenmue and FF7 moment and came nowhere near that close. Nintendo just don't have the teams to create the great big games they need every year to succeed. It's all filler fluff. Mario Tennis, and other party spin off fluff doesn't cut it. An open world adventure game featuring amiibos would be a good start. Not delaying Zelda would be another. Have F Zero and amiibo's that unlocked tracks as you collect the toys. A full on console main series Pokemon game with amiibos would be Nintendo's big show stopper if they actually listened as they say they do. Not to mention the biggest money maker that could ever ever ever happen out of any toys to life series to date.
They surely can see what new IP can do for them after as Splatoon doing so well on the struggling Wii U. What goes on in their heads when they see something like that, and go "well, if they like that new IP, let's give them more Mario spin off junk" Anyway enough ranting and joining in on the bandwagon, except for the MP:FF. I'm hoping it will turn out good even for a normal 3DS to play on. Should be heaps of fun in multiplayer, and next level games are a pretty good studio. One more thing, what are Retro doing? Imagine the chaos if they showed yet another DK 2D platformer. The Internet would break.
I would have liked to see some DLC for MK8 much earlier as I had stopped playing as I had just about seen everything the game had to offer, plus lack of newer games to sink my teeth into pretty much made MK8 my go to game for a couple of months.
I'm impressed with what they are offering and how they are doing it is really new for me and quite innovative with the preordering bonuses but i must admit it's quite cruel to see the characters I have paid for on the character select screen, but can't access them yet. But that's a small matter that would be hard to balance. Pre ordered DLC with no way at all of showing me what I have bought would also feel kind of cheap.
The DLC is priced well, and I can't help but think as this article states that MK8 could be trying to be a platform unto itself, but instead of what other game makers are doing, which is releasing full priced games, then tonnes of DLC for a year, and then release the yearly full price sequel and start the cycle over, what Nintendo could be doing could be setting MK8 up as an ongoing platform with half yearly updates to keep it fresh as the game ages, and becomes truly evergreen, not just in sales, but in content as well. It's something that Nintendo's other franchises could benefit from as well but it doesn't fit all games as well as Mario Kart or Smash Bros.
We still don't know how amiibo is going to work with MK8 yet either. I can't see new tracks being available by touching a character to the Gamepad, but having some more Nintendo characters to select as racers would be worth the price for me.
For now though, to me Nintendo has released a fully fleshed out game in MK8, that is fine as a stand alone game without the extra content. And with all the DLC coming and amiibo stuff coming, it's just blossoming into something else entirely, and I am ok with that. Sometimes it's hard to watch Nintendo be arrogant and do things their own way, but when it all comes together for some of that perfect Nintendo magic, like it seems to be doing now, well, soon, it does restore some faith in the company.
Yep, another game I was excited for but am now not supporting because of this BS that keeps happening. These guys were bragging about how much they loved the Wii U and how good it the Wii U version was going to be. And now it's the least important and delayed. Stupid move. Lost my support. The Wii U version comes out at the same time with the same features, or you lose sales. When will publishers and developers realise this?
If this deal happens in Australia, I will buy this game to show my support for such features. This should be a thing for every VC game. Hell, even if I has to pay a sub $1 fee for it to happen it would still be better than not having cross buy.
To put it another way though, more kids are playing on smart devices than dedicated handheld consoles. However, software for these devices are mainly priced at super low prices if not free, so, selling a good quality game at regular retail price like MK7 or Bravely Default at full price on a 3DS would be incredibly more profitable than the el cheapo games on a smart device right?
Splatoon was my favourite game of E3, however without some more knowledge of the game and it's single player/local multiplayer and local co op, it could turn out to be a bit disappointing to me personally as I don't play online very much so I am hoping it will be a very robust offline experience. And seeing it is releasing next year, perhaps even some amiibo compatability might be added. Those squiddy/anime characters are brilliant and pretty original.
If you dont want to play against an amiibo character you don't have to. This is an added extra to the game. Im all for the amiibo in Smash, but its not tied to it in any unfair kind of way like Skylanders. What it means for me is when I am playing 2 player with someone else, but want 4 fighters on the screen, instead of them being CPU players, they could be fighters that I have trained and customised. They probably dont even have to be on my team if I didnt want them to be. I think its a great added dimension to the main game.
It's great that the people of Nintendo such as Reggie and Iwata and Miy?amoto have become the real life mascots for the company. Who needs Mario when we could have Fils A Mech? I totally love Nintendo even more for how they have handled this E3. All about fun? That message couldnt have been clearer. Well done Nintendo.
This game looks like so much fun, but I want to know about potential campaign modes and if and how the game will support local co-op. I don't play online due to not having very good broadband, and I could see a large amount of fun to be had with this game in a local split screen and bot settings. I hope it doesn't disappoint in this area, even if the meat and potatoes of this game is meant to be enjoyed online.
I thought this years Nintendo E3 would be pretty lame following the last couple of years, and while I haven't heard some announcements that I would like such as DQ7 and DQX, and some FZero love, Splatoon was my surprise game of the whole show. Looks like so much fun. Mario Maker turned out to be true, and Yoshi's Wooly World amazed me as did both the Zelda games. Well done Nintendo. It's a shame a lot of these games aren't coming out this year to build up hype for the sagging sales of the Wii U, but by 2015 the Wii U will have a killer library of some of the best games ever made. Makes me forget some of the problems I have had with the system thus far. Well done Nintendo. 10/10.
GameCube and Dreamcast Virtual Console F Zero U Super Mario Galaxy 3 Mario Kart 8 DLC Pokemon main series game Wii U.
Nintendo also needs to make some games and new IP in established genres to round out the library like: A 3rd Person Shooter A fantasy adventure game that's not Zelda A classic JRPG style game.
I hope we don't get Mario sports games and more 2D platformers. I've had enough.
A game can't be racist that involves a magical fairy tail world of the mushroom kingdom, where you can play as Italian Plumbers and Princesses and humanoid fungi, as well as apes and turtle creatures. It covers a wide base. And Mii's can be in the game. So basically any one of any colour or creed is what can be seen when playing online. What a grub of a thing to say. This angers me.
It would be a lot of work to make the Wii U come packaged without the Gamepad. Every game released up to now would have to have some kind of update that allowed it to play without it, or mention that it needs it for use. Also all the games already out there at retail would need repackaging or stickers added, which would be a monumental task.
I see the good it could do, lower the price, up the install base, but it's too late now. If it was an optional extra at the start, it could have been done, and maybe found more success, but as it stands now, Nintendo are right sticking to their guns. They really have no other easy choice anyway.
I for one love the Gamepad. Off TV play is awesome. Browsing the web and the eShop and Miiverse wouldn't be the awesome experience it is without it. When it comes to actual in game use it has been lacklustre to say the least, bar a couple of good uses in a couple of games. Lego City a Undercover springs to mind. I would really like a sequel to Lego City. I have found that game to be superior to all the other Lego games that have come before and after that release, except for it only being single player.
Anyway, it's always shown more promise than actual benefit, so I can see why this argument keeps popping up, especially in the wake of Microsofts recent backflip. If only there was a way to keep it and lower the cost of the unit to get it selling. The only way that I think the idea will sell is if it gets to that critical mass where once enough people have it and it becomes mainstream enough to accept the Gamepad as a useful tool, then it will take off even more. But I don't think Nintendo have the gumption to get it there to that point. I think it's great, but I am just one voice among many who don't care for the thing. It's Nintendos job to get it into people's hands and get them to love it, not mine.
If Nintendo dev teams are going to be spread even more thinly making games for even more systems, then I am not happy about this decision. They have a hard enough time making enough 1st party software for the 3DS and Wii U at the same time without all this other faffing about in emerging countries. Just make cheaper versions of already released hardware. A Wii U without a Gamepad springs to mind. As well as a 2D 3DS still with the clamshell design. Or even make a HD Wii. Littlest effort, more games, makes sense. This is probably why Nintendo aren't doing it that way. It makes too much sense.
I don't know why they don't just hammer out the best N64 SNES and Gamecube games now. Why aren't they doing this? Surely there is enough first party content from all those consoles plus the GBA to release at least 1 or 2 games a week all the way to the end of the year. The Wii VC was so good at the start. So many Sega games and Nintendo games. I'm so bored of these very basic NES games.
Had it on Dreamcast. Was fantastic. Although I did like RE4, I really adored the old way if controlling the characters. Sure it was clunky at times, but it made the game that much more intense.
I would be seriously broke if Nintendo had some sort of NFC toys to go along with Smash Bros. I can't see them doing it other than to unlock special new characters, but I would spend all my money on the figures.
And it's totally not like Nintendo to rip off another game like Skylanders, but imagine a Smash Bros spin off 3D adventure game with collectible figures like Skylanders. That would be brilliant. Plus an awesome way for Nintendo to start making some money again. I'm hoping E3 will not be a disappointment this year.
I've changed my mind on this issue a bit. I recognise that Nintendo are in a damned if they do/don't situation. Releasing together would cannibalise sales of each other. Releasing the Wii U version first and the 3DS later seems like the best option to sell more Wii U consoles, but would anger 3DS only players. Doing it like they are, they are pleasing 3DS and Smash Bros players, and any most of the core Nintendo fans who will end up getting both versions, but ultimately lose any new Wii U customers that a simultaneous or earlier release would bring. There is a downside to all of the options, but the one they are doing is probably has probably the best outcome financially for them, even though it has angered myself and other gamers alike.
It still feels like a slap in the face when even Nintendo don't prioritise their Wii U games over the more popular 3DS. It's one thing to get shafted by 3rd parties for more popular and better selling consoles, it's in a whole different league when Nintendo do it to us.
If Nintendos next system isn't a handheld hybrid home console, all of this BS could be avoided. Plus we could have more games than we could shake a stick at if Nintendo don't have to divide their resources between two totally different systems. Instead of teams working on Mario Kart 7 and then Mario Kart 8 in the space of a couple of years, and the same for NSMB2 and then NSMBU only a short while later, and I guess the same for SM3DLand and World were pretty close as well. One game per series, leaving the teams free to make different and newer games. Plus who here wouldn't like to be playing Zelda one month, then Pokemon the next, and then Mario the next, then Fire Emblem the next, and so on, all on the one hybrid console that plays on your TV and be portable? That's the dream.
Stupid stupid move Nintendo. Wow. Anyone that might have been waiting for this game to pick up a Wii U will now simply get the 3DS version instead. And to the core fans, who will buy the 3DS version first, what incentive is their to buy the Wii U version. My neck is sore from shaking my head so much.
@sdelfin Exactly how I feel. There are times when the spark is there. But it's not often enough anymore with modern games. Which is why these days I play Nintendo games and systems more so than Sony or Microsoft consoles. If there is going to be that magic moment, it's more commonly found on a Nintendo system in my opinion.
After the Saturn article here at Nintendo Life, I've been playing some Fighters Megamix, Sega Rally, and Virtua Cop 2, plus some NiGHTS HD on the PS3. I've also been playing some NES Remix taking turns with my son. Also just to round it out after the announcement of a SSB Direct, I've been playing some Brawl, plus I downloaded Inazuma Eleven on my 3DS and started that. Not very far into it yet, but so far it's not too bad.
I had two Saturns, both PAL, but as I couldn't find anyone in Australia to mod my first one to play Japanese and American games, I sent it over to the UK to be done. Turnaround time? 6 weeks. 2 weeks into that, I went out and bought another one. I just couldn't be without it. Dark Saviour, NiGHTS, Sega Rally, Fighting Vipers and later Fighters Megamix, Burning Rangers, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Marvel Super Heroes, VF Kids, Virtua Cop 1 and 2, those games were amazing. I only ever ended up buying 2 Japanese games. X-Men vs Street Fighter, and Radiant Silvergun. Totally worth it. And to think, I still haven't had the pleasure of playing Panzer Dragoon Saga or any of the Shining games on the system, and I still rate it as my second most played system ever, the first being Dreamcast, although technically my PS3 has had a workout since I bought it, as it has been my main media player for the last 6 years and still is.
At the moment, my most used consoles of all time stand at:
Dreamcast (mainly because of PSO but I have 34 other awesome games for it, although it no longer works)
Saturn. I loved the arcades. So this system was awesome for me.
PS1. I have eclectic collection of popular and weird games for it from PaRappa and Bust a Groove, to Resident Evils and Spyro's and Tekkens. Soul Blade was epic. FFVII and IX were standouts.
Wii. Of course it is. Wii Sports alone stole many hours of fun as well as Mario Kart and the Galaxy games.
PS2, Megadrive, PS3 ( for actual gaming ) SNES, Master System, Xbox, Xbox360, N64 in that order round out my list of most played to least. I haven't worked out where Wii U is now. Still too early to tell. But it's already higher up than the PS2. Which is pretty high by my book. And I didn't include handhelds, which I really didn't get into until I got my DSlite. I had owned a GBC and GameGear, but I never played them a great deal so I missed out on the GBA era of games. But my 3DS is just about my most played handheld now, and I'm even contemplating getting a Vita because of its weirder and great games. Trying to get back that feeling of loving great games again, because I feel like I am growing out of it. I don't want to, but games these days generally aren't going where my love for them started out from. It's good to see a resurgence in platformers, but where are the big RPGs, the arcade racers, the fighting games? Everything seems to be open world this, or MMO that, or online only here and first person shooter there.
I miss the days of the Saturn. In fact, I might go play some Saturn now. Grab out the old big blue light gun and shoot some robbers in VC2. I bet I need another internal battery for it again. All save game data lost! Haha. The good old days.
Really looking forward to this, however I am deeply saddened by the lack of Gamepad options. Playing Sonic Racing Transformed in two player with one player using the TV and another using the Gamepad was brilliant. Surely if Sega could pull it off, why can't Nintendo? Probably something to do with the engine and it being locked at 60fps. Even so, i would settle for 30fps in two player Gamepad and TV combo. It just works so well having your own screen. I get that the games graphics are probably so intense that the 5 player option like in Sonic Transformed could be an issue, but there really shouldn't be a problem with the two player TV/Gamepad combo. This is likely to be Nintendos biggest game of 2014, and just like DKCTF, it looks like it's going to lack any type of meaningful Gamepad functionality, when in reality, both of these games should be pushing for unique and fun uses for the much maligned controller.
It could be a permanent rear view mirror, it could display map and weapon info, it could show your friends POV when playing online.
This should be the game to showcase the Gamepad. Oh Nintendo, what are you doing?
I'm really only looking forward to Tomodachi Collection and Kirby Triple Deluxe on the 3DS as far as full priced 1st party retail games go. I'm sure there will be a few eShop only games that will fill the rather large void. I'd settle for a 3DS drought as long as the games were coming thick and fast on the Wii U but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's going to be a bit of a boring year this year.
3DS wish list for this year. A FTP FZero, Pokemon Z or lots of Pokemon XY DLC, Dragon Quest 7.
Can't wait for this. I lived and breathed the world of the original game on PS1 as a teenager. It was so original in its designs for the time. Still is quite unique. And being more of a puzzler instead of an action platformer helped me branch out of my comfort zone of gaming. I will be buying this on Wii U for sure.
It's pretty clear what Nintendo have to do to survive while staying out of the smartphone world. The 3DS and Wii U generation for them has been a disaster compared to the DS and Wii generation. Making any kind of profit out of the Wii U hardware is not likely to happen at all, so why waste all this time trying to sell it at its current price? Just slash it, sell it at about half the cost price, get that install base huge, sell it to mums on TV shopping channels, and try and make it not have such a bad name for itself. Because if it continues this way, no one will buy the next generation of Nintendo console(s).
Also, screw the 3rd parties. Nintendo have to be able to not rely on them. Spend the cash reserves and buy up big on dev teams. Churn out heaps more quality first party stuff. That would have got the userbase up had Nintendo prepared for the Wii U launch with more of their own games coming in every month instead of relying on the 3rd parties to let them down. If they do this for the next console, 3rd parties will come in droves. I'm not saying to make it hard for 3rd parties to come to the system, it should be a very easy and cheap to do so, but they shouldn't be out courting companies to fill in their own huge gaps in the line up only for companies like Ubisoft to royally screw them over with the likes of Rayman, and now WatchDogs, and EA with outdated ports and missing features.
They need to get the hardcore off their case. Here's how. Stop producing underperforming machines. It worked with the Wii. It won't work again. The core gamers that want to play Nintendo games won't because the other big games from other companies won't come out on Nintendo systems due to a lack of power. Keep up Nintendo or you will fade like Sega did. Also, for gods sake get a proper account based system for online purchases ASAP and cross play on VC games. Also the included HDD space in a Wii U is laughable.
No one wants to be the guy with the smallest penis in the locker room. But that's exactly the situation Nintendo have put themselves in. There isn't even a lot of motion in this blue ocean to make up for it. There are a few great games yes, but it has taken way too long to get here. And by crikey there should have been at least 3 or 4 times as many must have games by now than what the Wii U has. Racing games, fighting games, 1st and 3rd person action games, RPGs, jrpgs, all genres that the Wii U doesn't have much of.
I play my Wii U a lot. But I am a fan. Anyone who isn't with all these faults the system and company has, it really is no surprise that no one outside of the core Ninty fans is buying the Wii U. The only one surprised seems to be Iwata. I don't want him to go, but trying to bottle the lightning of the DS and the Wii and do it again with the 3DS and Wii U was a huge mistake. Sure, if smartphones and tablets didn't take off like they did, the 3DS and Wii U would probably have gone alright. But Iwata didn't see that coming, or did see it, but thought he knew better. While I don't want to see Nintendo go mobile, perhaps someone that can work with this new and changed market and foresee ways to deal with it better should be in charge. I really don't think mariokart 8 will change much. Not will Smash Bros. They will be great games no doubt, but not enough to save the Wii U. So much potential just not realised with this system. Such a pity.
Can't wait for this game. I'm a bit over the argument for same sex coupling for this game, because as much as I am all for gay marriage, the reality is Nintendo don't need any more negative press against them, which is exactly what they will get from conservative news outlets.
My opinion is it should be included and that children should be exposed to as many different family types as possible and it should all be a non event, just a normal thing. It would help stop bullying and help create a more tolerant society. Sadly, Nintendo aren't there yet. But it won't stop me enjoying the game for what it is. Hope it's released soon.
No game has made me feel the way that game made me feel. And I don't think it will be any time soon if ever that a game will move me and make me feel the same way again. A totally unique experience, and I'm glad I bought it. Sure it has like zero replayability, but that was the point, or at least that's what I took away from it.
I'll be buying it. The original Abe was my favourite ps1 game. I'd love nothing more than to play it again with the much needed updated graphics. I used to watch the cutscenes over and over and wished that some company like Dreamworks or Pixar would make a whole movie based on the Oddworld presented in those games. Abe was just such a good character.
So can I comment on random peoples posts now to help out with a game or make new friends etc, like on Wii U, or is the 3DS version of Miiverse still useless to me?
If Nintendo can't unify Wii/Wii U/3DS VC games now, then they shouldn't be selling them at such a high price. Then people wouldn't have that much to complain about. Like most Nintendo fans, I am sick of the constant and relentless negativity toward them, but I'm not so blind as to realise they have put themselves into the position to be crucified by fans, critics, and everyone else for not going into the 3DS and Wii U generation with what has become standard features for years like account based systems. I thought that feature would come with the "making the Wii U faster" update that never came, or the "Miiverse for 3DS" that was so gimped that it's basically useless version of Miiverse with the only benefit that we can now share money between systems. I really am having a wait and see approach to the next round of Nintendo console(s). I usually buy straight away at launch, but faster the 3DS launch and price drop fiasco, and the continuing free fall of the Wii U into almost certain doom, I won't be an early adopter next time unless they get their heads out of the sand and join the 21st century. As much as I do love Nintendo and their games and consoles, they rightly deserve every attack they get because they just are doing too many things wrong and backwards and being very anti consumer at a time when they need it most. It's completely baffling.
I would like a sequel too, but in saying that, now that most of the hard work is done with creating the game, perhaps another team could handle making the game.
Also, I think I am going to be very tired of 2D platformers very soon. Id like to see some more variety from Nintendo first party games. We have been saturated in Mario games, and now 2D platformers are starting to outstay their welcome. These games are what Nintendo does best, and the quality shines in all of them, but i think it's time the great Nintendo play it more risky, and try some new genres and create new franchises that can be grown and nurtured alongside Mario, Zelda, DK, Smash Bros and Mario Kart, oh and Kirby, can't forget Kirby.
I've had it in for ubisoft ever since the Rayman debacle. Watchdogs looked like the end of that for me as it was looking good, and promised features in the Wii U version that could shine with the gamepad. And now they have done this. Hypocrites. Won't release Rayman on Wii U first as they wanted a simultaneous release for all consoles, but now apparently it's fine to leave the Wii U version until later. Well guess what Ubisoft, now I won't be buying the game at all on any system. I'm aware that Nintendo is party to blame for not boosting the sales of its system, but purely out of principle, just like I boycotted Rayman on any system, and other Ubi games since, I will be voting with my wallet again and not buying this game. Ubisoft can't say it's ok to delay the Wii U version of one game to coincide with other versions, but then be ok to delay Wii U games on other occasions. It's wrong, and I won't support such practices, despite the fact that I know the Wii U needs much needed 3rd party game sales, I just won't do it. It's not fair, and we shouldn't be treated as such if they want their games to succeed on all platforms, then they should treat all platforms fairly. Ubisoft has failed at doing that numerous times now, so no money for you Ubisoft!!
I can't say I'm excited for more MH. Id like to be, but after Tri on the Wii, and the Demos on both 3DS and Wii U, the game just isn't for me. Unless they completely overhaul the combat system, I'm not interested in it. It's just a cumbersome beast that I can't get my head around it. It's such a shame. I was a huge PSO fan and can see the type of grinding and stuff could be fun, but I just can't do the controls. I hate them. I don't get them. They aren't intuitive to me. Oh Sega please bring a PSO sequel to Wii U. Even a remake would be fantastic.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Is The Metroid Game You Didn't Expect, Or Perhaps Want
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Is The Metroid Game You Didn't Expect, Or Perhaps Want
Pretty sure I just did but ok.
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Is The Metroid Game You Didn't Expect, Or Perhaps Want
What goes on in their heads when they see something like that, and go "well, if they like that new IP, let's give them more Mario spin off junk"
Anyway enough ranting and joining in on the bandwagon, except for the MP:FF. I'm hoping it will turn out good even for a normal 3DS to play on. Should be heaps of fun in multiplayer, and next level games are a pretty good studio. One more thing, what are Retro doing? Imagine the chaos if they showed yet another DK 2D platformer. The Internet would break.
On that note. I'm done.
Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8's Diverse DLC Sets Up Endless Potential for the Franchise
Re: Wii U Version Of Project CARS Drops To The Back Of The Starting Grid
Yep, another game I was excited for but am now not supporting because of this BS that keeps happening. These guys were bragging about how much they loved the Wii U and how good it the Wii U version was going to be. And now it's the least important and delayed. Stupid move. Lost my support. The Wii U version comes out at the same time with the same features, or you lose sales. When will publishers and developers realise this?
Re: Cross-Buy is Now a Thing on Nintendo Platforms
If this deal happens in Australia, I will buy this game to show my support for such features. This should be a thing for every VC game. Hell, even if I has to pay a sub $1 fee for it to happen it would still be better than not having cross buy.
Re: Stats Suggest That UK Kids Are More Likely To Game On A Tablet Than A Nintendo 3DS
Re: Talking Point: Keeping It Simple Helped Nintendo Triumph At E3
Splatoon was my favourite game of E3, however without some more knowledge of the game and it's single player/local multiplayer and local co op, it could turn out to be a bit disappointing to me personally as I don't play online very much so I am hoping it will be a very robust offline experience. And seeing it is releasing next year, perhaps even some amiibo compatability might be added. Those squiddy/anime characters are brilliant and pretty original.
Re: E3 2014: Nintendo Planning To Release Amiibo Figures for Entire Super Smash Bros. Roster
Re: E3 2014: Reggie Fils-A-Mech Does Battle With Shigeru Miyamoto, Sort Of
It's great that the people of Nintendo such as Reggie and Iwata and Miy?amoto have become the real life mascots for the company. Who needs Mario when we could have Fils A Mech? I totally love Nintendo even more for how they have handled this E3. All about fun? That message couldnt have been clearer. Well done Nintendo.
Re: E3 2014: Getting To Grips With Amiibo, Nintendo's Revolutionary Take On NFC Toys
Yeah I will be buying as many as I can. I hope they aren't going to be very limited time only type deals. I'm 34. Don't even care. I'm buying the lot.
Re: Weirdness: Conan O'Brien Plays Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Birthday Suit Samus!!!
Re: E3 2014: Hands On With Nintendo's New Online Shooter IP, Splatoon
This game looks like so much fun, but I want to know about potential campaign modes and if and how the game will support local co-op. I don't play online due to not having very good broadband, and I could see a large amount of fun to be had with this game in a local split screen and bot settings. I hope it doesn't disappoint in this area, even if the meat and potatoes of this game is meant to be enjoyed online.
Re: E3 2014: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., A Brand New IP, Unveiled for 3DS
I hope it turns out good. Maybe there will be some amiibo compatibility to make it a bit more interesting to me.
Re: Reaction: Our Thoughts on Nintendo's Big Day at E3
Re: Feature: Our Hopes and Dreams for E3 2014
GameCube and Dreamcast Virtual Console
F Zero U
Super Mario Galaxy 3
Mario Kart 8 DLC
Pokemon main series game Wii U.
Nintendo also needs to make some games and new IP in established genres to round out the library like:
A 3rd Person Shooter
A fantasy adventure game that's not Zelda
A classic JRPG style game.
I hope we don't get Mario sports games and more 2D platformers. I've had enough.
Re: Nintendo Hosting Two Big Evening Presentations at E3
I'm expected to be let down again this year.
Re: Reaction: Mario Kart 8 Accused Of Poor Sales Potential, Ruining Battle Mode And Racism
Re: Talking Point: For Better Or For Worse, The Wii U GamePad Is Here To Stay
Re: Nintendo Creating a New Console for Emerging Markets, Including China
If Nintendo dev teams are going to be spread even more thinly making games for even more systems, then I am not happy about this decision. They have a hard enough time making enough 1st party software for the 3DS and Wii U at the same time without all this other faffing about in emerging countries. Just make cheaper versions of already released hardware. A Wii U without a Gamepad springs to mind. As well as a 2D 3DS still with the clamshell design. Or even make a HD Wii. Littlest effort, more games, makes sense. This is probably why Nintendo aren't doing it that way. It makes too much sense.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th May (Europe)
I don't know why they don't just hammer out the best N64 SNES and Gamecube games now. Why aren't they doing this? Surely there is enough first party content from all those consoles plus the GBA to release at least 1 or 2 games a week all the way to the end of the year. The Wii VC was so good at the start. So many Sega games and Nintendo games. I'm so bored of these very basic NES games.
Re: Satoru Iwata Announces 'Nintendo Figurine Platform' to Utilise NFC for Wii U and 3DS
I really really really want a Non Specific Action Figure.
Re: Forgotten Classics: Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Had it on Dreamcast. Was fantastic. Although I did like RE4, I really adored the old way if controlling the characters. Sure it was clunky at times, but it made the game that much more intense.
Re: Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Could Have Been a Nintendo Exclusive
I would be seriously broke if Nintendo had some sort of NFC toys to go along with Smash Bros. I can't see them doing it other than to unlock special new characters, but I would spend all my money on the figures.
And it's totally not like Nintendo to rip off another game like Skylanders, but imagine a Smash Bros spin off 3D adventure game with collectible figures like Skylanders. That would be brilliant. Plus an awesome way for Nintendo to start making some money again. I'm hoping E3 will not be a disappointment this year.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Hitting 3DS This Summer, Wii U Launch To Take Place In The Winter
Re: Super Smash Bros. Hitting 3DS This Summer, Wii U Launch To Take Place In The Winter
At this point in time, a think a box of hammers could make better decisions than Nintendo.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Hitting 3DS This Summer, Wii U Launch To Take Place In The Winter
Re: 3DS eShop Exclusive Nintendo Pocket Football Club Will Be On Special Offer Until May
So no Rusty for Europe regions, but no Pocket Football for NA?
I will be getting this. Looks fun.
Re: Hardware Classics: Sega Saturn
@sdelfin Exactly how I feel. There are times when the spark is there. But it's not often enough anymore with modern games. Which is why these days I play Nintendo games and systems more so than Sony or Microsoft consoles. If there is going to be that magic moment, it's more commonly found on a Nintendo system in my opinion.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Twenty Two
After the Saturn article here at Nintendo Life, I've been playing some Fighters Megamix, Sega Rally, and Virtua Cop 2, plus some NiGHTS HD on the PS3. I've also been playing some NES Remix taking turns with my son. Also just to round it out after the announcement of a SSB Direct, I've been playing some Brawl, plus I downloaded Inazuma Eleven on my 3DS and started that. Not very far into it yet, but so far it's not too bad.
Re: Hardware Classics: Sega Saturn
Re: Preview: Mario Kart 8
Re: Features: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2014 - Spring Edition
I'm really only looking forward to Tomodachi Collection and Kirby Triple Deluxe on the 3DS as far as full priced 1st party retail games go. I'm sure there will be a few eShop only games that will fill the rather large void. I'd settle for a 3DS drought as long as the games were coming thick and fast on the Wii U but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's going to be a bit of a boring year this year.
3DS wish list for this year. A FTP FZero, Pokemon Z or lots of Pokemon XY DLC, Dragon Quest 7.
Re: Wii U System Update 4.1.0 Available Now
It's still far too slow to load games and switch between apps and functions. It gets so annoying.
Re: Oddworld's Lorne Lanning Isn't Worried About Wii U's Low Install Base Impacting New ‘n’ Tasty Sales
Re: Report Suggests That June Could Be Crucial For Iwata's Future At The Head Of Nintendo
Re: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Tests Western Waters with Survey
Can't wait for this game. I'm a bit over the argument for same sex coupling for this game, because as much as I am all for gay marriage, the reality is Nintendo don't need any more negative press against them, which is exactly what they will get from conservative news outlets.
My opinion is it should be included and that children should be exposed to as many different family types as possible and it should all be a non event, just a normal thing. It would help stop bullying and help create a more tolerant society. Sadly, Nintendo aren't there yet. But it won't stop me enjoying the game for what it is. Hope it's released soon.
Re: Little Inferno Has Sold A Million But Gamers Didn't Get The Message Behind It, Says Tomorrow Corporation
No game has made me feel the way that game made me feel. And I don't think it will be any time soon if ever that a game will move me and make me feel the same way again. A totally unique experience, and I'm glad I bought it. Sure it has like zero replayability, but that was the point, or at least that's what I took away from it.
Re: Expect Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty To Cost Around Thirty Bucks
I'll be buying it. The original Abe was my favourite ps1 game. I'd love nothing more than to play it again with the much needed updated graphics. I used to watch the cutscenes over and over and wished that some company like Dreamworks or Pixar would make a whole movie based on the Oddworld presented in those games. Abe was just such a good character.
Re: Miiverse Gets a Fresh Update for Wii U and 3DS
So can I comment on random peoples posts now to help out with a game or make new friends etc, like on Wii U, or is the 3DS version of Miiverse still useless to me?
Re: Talking Point: Important Steps to Bring the 3DS and Wii U Closer Together
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Only Sells Just Over 35,000 Units in Japanese Launch
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th February (Europe)
No Inazuma Eleven for Australia. Oh well, maybe some complaining on the Miiverse community will help?
Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms
Re: Rumour: Square Enix Trademark For Luminaries Of The Legendary Line Could Be Related To Dragon Quest
DQ7 remake translated and released for 3DS would be awesome.
Re: 3DS Sales Tracking Ahead of Game Boy Advance In Japan
Nintendo can't market the name Wii U. How on earth could they manage to market a 2/3DSXLiU? Lol
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th February (Europe)
I'm hoping Inazuma is released for the Aussie eShop. Probably won't be though.
Re: Soapbox: A Monster Hunter Obsession, and Why the Franchise Could Take Off in the West
