This makes more sense as a DSiWare or iPhone game. Also, the iPhone version will get updates with new levels and will eventually have even more levels than the other versions for a lesser price. But still, it's an excellent game.
Galaxy 2 was actually 4th for the month, behind the 360 and PS3 versions of NCAA Football 2011 and Crackdown 2 on 360. Combining the DS and Wii sales is a bit strange, but whatever.
@slapshot82 It actually did outsell the PS3. The numbers listed above are PS3 and PSP combined.
I think this looks great. The wisps don't seem gimmicky at all and actually seem like they add to the gameplay, unlike, say, the wherehog stages in Unleashed. Not to mention these basically look like the day stages in Unleashed not including the wisp parts, which is a good thing. Not really into the music though.....
Love this game on my iPod Touch, and it would absolutely work on DS. My only thing that I'll say is that on the iStuff, the developers are continually adding new levels to the game (for free in updates, not as DLC), to the point that this game now has more than 170 levels. And the game only costs $1. Even on DSiWare for 200 points the game might be able to match the iThings version in content at launch, but in a few months time the iPhone/Touch version will already have more levels.
But still, this game is awesome, so it's good that it's coming to DS(iWare presumably).
As I said in the forum I made before I knew this was already here, sharing user generated content online has been done on Wii before (including Boom Blox Bash Party, which was also published by EA), so I don't get why they can't get do it here too.
I wasn't going to click on this because I knew I'd never get it, but I saw that first sentence and just knew I had to read it. That's how you reel 'em in James.
Thanks for doing reviews like this guys. For one, they're hilarious to read. And second, I'm glad you still review all downloadable titles, regardless of how horrid you know they'll be. I know how painful it can be.
There was a thread where you were supposed to guess the day they would announce the release date. I feel like someone guessed this, but I'm not really sure. Anyway, I still don't think it will be released until March, and I think the price will be between $200 and $250.
This is my most-anticipated game right now, on any platform (although I only have Nintendo systems so I can't really be anticipating games from other systems since I can't buy them.
I really don't know what to think of this game. It doesn't look like anything special (it looks good, at the very least, but nothing fantastic), and yet it seems like every gaming site out there (except NL, lol) have hyped this up immensely and talked about how awesome it will be. So I guess we'll just wait and see.
Well, I wouldn't say I was "rolling (did you do that on purpose?) on the floor" playing it, but no game has come close to doing that for me ever, so I wasn't exactly looking for that. I just found it to be very funny and thought it might've been worthy of inclusion in the review, but I guess everyone has different opinions on humor.
How can you not mention that this game is hilarious? Did you read all the signs posted throught the game? Or read the dialouge? Or see what happened at the end of level 2 (I won't spoil it of course)? Seriously, I thought it was worth mentioning.
"Now it's time to play with your b- boulders!"
Aside from that, great review Corbie. I personally think the score should be higher, but I won't go on all day complaining about it. I definetely agree about the controls and frustrations, but I guess they just didn't bother me as much.
Furry Legends looks great! It seems sort of like the game Rolando for the App Store (which is a good thing!), except more furry. Also, HoopWorld looks interesting at least. When I get back home I will be downloading Furry Legends!
I don't have time to listen so could someone post the winners in the comments please? Just make sure you give a spoiler warning because many people probably want to listen to it to find out.
EDIT: Well, actually I'm on vacation and only have my iTouch for Internet... So I can't litsten.
Never owned the Raving Rabbids games. I played TV Party at my friends' house once, but it was just that.... once and with my friends. I did get Rabbids Go Home and I think it's great. Actually, this kind of idea (the traveling in time) seems like it would've been perfect for an adventure game. Oh well. I guess we'll see. I remain hopeful.
I said it in the forums, I'll say it again: All of the demos of 3DS games at E3 were incredibly minimal, most weren't even playable, so I don't see why people thought it would be ready for this year.
Plus, we have a lot of big Wii games releasing this holiday season, and, more importantly, a decent number of DS games releasing this holiday season (Golden Sun, Scribblenauts, Okamiden, etc).
Hmmmm, an hour later and the giveaway is still on. I would assume that means I made it if they're doing the giveaway by the first 100 to enter. Unless they're just trying to trick us into thinking we actually have a shot.
Definite buy for me. What other game allows you to create a gentlemanly red raptor and a Zombified Telekinetic Bully? The title screen of this game will be even better than the first game's.
I think this is a great lineup honestly. It was just overshadowed by the 3DS lineup, which is completely insane. Kirby Epic Yarn, IMO, looks amazing. Donkey Kong Country Returns looks great, then of course there's Zelda and all the 3rd party titles, like NBA Jam and Goldeneye. Also, Nintendo's holiday lineup for Wii is looking good. Kirby, Donkey Kong, that Flingsmash game that wasn't even mentioned, and Wii Party, which at least has a decent chance of being good (probably not fantastic though).

I agree that they need to do something with it. City Folk just didn't offer that much new. I want some whole new gameplay ideas. Maybe a way to start your own business so that you aren't subjected to being Tom Nook's puppet for the entire game?

Re: Rumour: Wii 2 to Feature Blu-ray Drive, Out Next Year
If it's a new console, it won't be out next year. If it's an upgrade, it won't be out..... ever.
Those are my thoughts.
Re: These Fuzzy Super Scribblenauts Headphones Can Be Yours
I might just have to.......
Re: Hands On: Ivy the Kiwi?
Haven't heard of it previously, but looks interesting, especially since it won't be full price of most Wii and DS games.
Re: First Impressions: Gods vs. Humans
Sounds pretty good!
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th August 2010 (North America)
TURN may be decent, but probably not worthy of 800 points.

The readers choice awards are a bit contradictory, but oh well. Glad Kirby won the Nintendo Life award, that also is what impressed me most.

OK, then I'm glad I just sent it. And I mentioned that Nintendo Life sent me.

Are the winners chosen randomly or is it the first 100? And briunj04's question....
Re: E3 2010: Your Chance to Salute the Best of E3
Just sent in my votes. I'm with Corbie on this one: Kirby's Epic Yarn all the way!

Definitely getting Super Scribblenauts. We'll see about everything else. 3DS kind of overshadowed all these games.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait for some more information, but the graphics look improved, at least.

Wow, that looks pretty interesting.
I have to watch their conference in full!!!!!!!!!!
Re: E3 2010: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
I've never been a huge fan of Zelda, but something about this trailer just looks..... incredible.
Also, am I the only one who finds the subtitle intriguing? "Skyward Sword." Doesn't that sound like it implies flying or something???
EDIT: Burny beat me

Re: E3 2010: Live Text - Nintendo's Media Presentation

Sigh I'll be at school. But you know that I'll read the Corbie's entire live blog when I get back.

Never owned any of the Minigame Rabbids, but I did play TV Party at a friend's house and it was pretty fun. But I did buy Rabbids Go Home which I thought was very fun. This seems like it's going to be another minigame collection, but it looks like it could be a great one....

Please, please, PLEASE let this be true!
Re: Sonic Colours to Brighten Up DS and Wii
Oh wait, this is the sequel to Secret Rings and Black Knight? (that's what IGN said anyway). I'm not as hopeful as before.
