Re: The Monster Hunter Tri Servers Will be Shutdown Today

Sun

This is the game I have played for a longer time on Wii and my best online experience this far although you should note I only own Nintendo consoles. Capcom did a great job on Wii with excellent games and I'm sure they will on Wii U as well.

Capcom, lots of love from me to you.

Re: Review: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (3DS)

Sun

I played the demo and I did not like because of the clunky controls, the repetitive sound for dialogue and because you have to press A after every sentence. The story is nice but I expected Pikachu and his friend to build their own paradise instead of searching a carpenter.

Re: Wii U System Update Is Now Live

This is the speed improvement quantified:
Open 'Rayman Legends Challenges App': From 18 to 10 seconds.
Close 'Rayman Legends Challenges App': From 23 to 9 seconds.
Open 'Settings': From 15 to 9 seconds.
Close 'Settings': 19 seconds, not improved.

Re: Nintendo: 3DS eShop And App Store Comparison Is "Quality" Versus "Quantity"

Sun

I don't buy games for my smartphone but I do for my 3DS. Still, eShop has a looong way to go. VC is primitive (except for Sega's Game Gear) and since early DSiWare days there is still garbage between awesome games like Fire Emblem Awakening and Luigi's Mansion 2.

I appreciate my time and the experience much more than money itself so I rather play fewer and greater games than play anything available on the market.

Re: Wii U System Update Is Now Live

Sun

@Xilef VC would be the following day according to Nintendo Direct. Tonight perhaps? I would like the background musics to be changed on Wii U, I don't really like them and I think they were better on previous Nintendo consoles. Nintendo GameCube has the best background music.

Re: These Screens Show What NES Games Would Be Like Today

Sun

@Erica_Hartmann Why do you say that? Nobody here said that today's games suck. It feels like we could not complain at all. I just bought Fire Emblem Awakening and Luigi's Mansion 2 for my 3DS and looking forward to get Need for Speed Most Wanted for my Wii U.

Re: These Screens Show What NES Games Would Be Like Today

Sun

Loving the Zelda one, reminds me of the silly Skyward Sword / Spirit Tracks!! I hate how they spoil the games telling you exactly what to do, and not once but repeatedly. It is so annoying. Same goes for pieces of advice reminding you to take breaks and resounding green blocks willing to tell you how to skip levels.

Let me play the way I want, if I need help I will ask for it but do not ruin games by offering it on my face.

Re: Talking Point: The Arrival of eShop Download Codes in Stores is a Smart Move

Sun

In the 3DS case I think it is great. You get a digital copy always ready to go along with other titles. A 32GB SD adds a huge additional storage to the system without any additional weight or attachments (unlike Wii U). The problem was the ridiculously expensive prices on the eShop (45€ each big game, more expensive than physical copies). If retailers are allowed to sell eShop codes at a desired and logical discount then all the issues I had about digital copies are over. At least for 3DS. On Wii U you don't really need digital copies on-the-go and you might not want a device attached to your neat black console.

Re: GAME Bags European Exclusive On eShop Download Codes

Sun

I do not understand why this is not the case since the very starts and why only Game is interested in this. I do see the point in the idea Damien, because is more handy to have 3DS digital copies and if you can get them cheaper than on the eShop... Why not?

Re: Hardware Review: 3DS Circle Pad Pro XL

Sun

This time I agree with the article, it makes a lot of sense. I bought the Circle Pad Pro XL days ago and I am happy because I already own Resident Evil: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3D, but it is incomprehensible the choices Nintendo have done with this console. It is a pain not being able to change volume and take and place the pen with this stuff attached to the XL. Taking into account that Nintendo is so pig-headed this is the only way to make the most of the Nintendo 3DS XL. Next time (Nintendo 4DS) the console design will make sense, let's hope so.

Re: Nintendo to Pull the Plug on Several Online Wii Channels

Sun

I do not agree with you Jon, I used the channels quite much and there was no reason to shut them down before the Wii U. So it makes sense to shut them down now but not much earlier as you suggested.

I am going to miss Mario Kart Wii channel if it is shut down because it was much more better than the Mario Kart 7 challenges of running against ghosts all the time. They did something great with Mario Kart Wii channel even being the core game not as good as previous games on the series. If only they had not rushed Mario Kart 7 that much...

Re: Feature: The GamePad - From Waggling Remotes To Dual Sticks and a Touchscreen

Sun

I don't like a lot of things about Wii U: instability, lack of power... But I particularly like the Wii U GamePad. It's a shame some games look blurry on it and the sreen looks so whitish but the screen is quite big, the speakers are alright. The pad itself is big and comfortable in my big hands and I love the fact that it relies mostly on the buttons. I am also happy the designers added the big analogue sticks and the big grip area on the back at the last minute. It would slip otherwise and the circle pad is not so comfortable after a while (I own a 3DS XL).

And forgive me for not being a fanboy doing lip service all the time. I said on my presentation that I am honest and I am not changing.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto: People Need To Be Patient With Wii U

Sun

@SCAR392 Thanks for explaining but I didn't say Nintendo is doing so bad and I don't think up is down and down is up. I don't understand why people are so rude on here. I did not divide nothing on the calculator either. I only used the percentage key:
100 * 125 % = 125.
To see that it works calculate 25% of 200 which should be 50. Press 200 * 25 % and you get 50.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto: People Need To Be Patient With Wii U

Sun

@rjejr Thanks for calling me a troll. I wish my clever comments got this much attention. @Le_Gazman don't be worried about society because nobody is perfect (although maybe you are).

I understand what 25% means, it is 25 of 100 so +25% means 25 more than 100 = 125. But as far as I know 100% is the maximum possible so when you say 125% you are meaning the total plus 25% more.

If I am wrong can somebody explain why and please stop insulting people for not being as wonderfully perfect as yourselves.

I am not the kind of person who makes fun of people or waste time trolling on the Internet. I just like videogames and spend more time playing than posting.

@Everybody I am using the calculator right now, 125% of 100 is 125. Can you try it on the calculator too? Press 100 * 125 %

To see that it works calculate 25% of 200 which should be 50. Press 200 * 25 % and you get 50.

Re: Time to Celebrate the Two Year 3DS Anniversary, Bring on the Infographic

Sun

It's a sad history to be honest: Ocarina of Time is a remake (of one of the best games ever created, I agree), Super Street Fighter IV 3D is a (great) port, Mario Kart 7 was so rushed, Super Mario 3D Land is quite empty and straightforward, New Super Mario Bros. 2 is rubbish (same as 90% of the eShop), Kingdom Hearts has camera issues, Kid Icarus is difficult to control and is not compatible with Circle Pad Pro (only for inverted controls)... And yes two years later we get some gems: Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion 2. And you Nintendo LIife forgot what might be the best 3DS new game: Resident Evil Revelations (exclusively for this console until this Summer).

And yes I like Nintendo and the Nintendo 3DS (I swapped the original one for an XL), I'm just being honest.

Re: Grant Kirkhope Wishes He Could Make Banjo-Kazooie 3 For Nintendo

Sun

Banjo Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are the best 3D platforms ever made. But N64 was not technically ready for them and modern remakes would be really appreciated by everyone. Since Microsoft bought and destroyed Rare there's little hope for the IP to come back to a Nintendo console but every ex Rare employee should get together and make Banjo 3 or something as similar as possible. Nuts & Bolts is not even a Banjo game and the current Rare is like a brand new company if you check its staff.

Re: Talking Point: The Download or Disc Dilemma

Sun

Good text Darren in between. I don't see any hassle in swapping discs home but if I had kids maybe I would go fully digital as they might crash my games and I don't want to get mad at them! LOL

But the prices are way too high to go digital right now. Even for 3DS which is a portable system I can get Luigi's Mansion for around 33€ when it is released this week instead of 45€ on the eShop and it's not like I'm going to play it in short times for years, I am going to stick to it until I finish it and go back to it some years later as I did with Luigi's Mansion.

Re: Fez Creator Believes Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is More Suited To Vita

Sun

I like my 3DS XL and prefer it to the 3DS but the density of pixels per inch is ridiculous. I am stopping buying some games because of it, not all of course as Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is a must-buy.

Yes games look better on Vita so unless you are playing Mario or Luigi there are better portable systems to use.

I tried the MH3 Ultimate demo and the controls are a mess without a Circle Pad Pro (which is not supported by the demo).

Re: Next Level Games on Working With Nintendo to Create Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Sun

I am re playing the original one these days (on the Wii). It looks quite good on my huge TV despite of being a Gamecube title (pity it doesn't support 16:9 screen format). Other Gamecube titles don't to be honest. I loved it in 2002 and I love it now. That makes you realize that some games are just good! Of course I will buy the sequel although I am worried this one is not being developed by Nintendo but Next Level.

In between I connected the N64 to the same huge TV and the games look awful! Any advice or trick? I tried composite yellow cord with and without SCART adaptor. The image is absolutely blurry. When I compare that to Wii VC's Super Mario 64 the graphics are perfectly crisp. Problem is only a few N64 games are on Wii VC and some of them will never be on Wii U's VC such as Rare's games (my favourites).
