Since they aren't usable online I'd have to say I don't see it as a huge deal. I don't know exactly how I feel about their inclusion. I would want to play around with them first. But I know I'm sticking to the more traditional characters. Besides, I'll be wreaking havoc with The Villager, who is absolutely going to be my main for a loooong time

Looking forward to playing this. I only wish it was coming in 2014. I didn't play Kirby's Epic Yarn because at the time I thought the idea was childish. But I kind of like the look of this game, can't explain it..

Amiibo figures seem to have a lot more value than Skylanders/Disney Inf. due to the fact that they work across a plethora of titles and you don't need to collect a massive amount of them to be competitive. (In fact, you don't need any figures to be competitive). I would pay $20 for a figure to be perfectly honest. But this pricing is probably better for marketing.

The amiibo I want most right now is definitely the AC Villager. But how are they going to work cross-title? A mario amiibo in MK8 is fine, but what will happen if you try to use say.. Samus or AC Villager amiibos?

Between Bayonetta 1&2/Splatoon/Captain Toad/Yoshi's Woolly World/Devil's Third/Mario Maker... and just about every other option, its impossible to pick. I voted for Captain Toad because he's so darn cute but I can't wait to splatter some blood and/or ink with Bayonetta/Devil's Third/Splatoon.

Nintendo shocked everyone. Such a great announcement. Great news for Wii U!

I have high hopes for this year. I want the NFP to truly be innovative and work across a large number of titles. I think the slew of eshop title trailers released yesterday is a really good indication of a pretty packed event today. Thoughts of Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing on the Wii U, and other titles are swirling in my head. Cheers to this year's presentation, can't wait!

The fact that its sitting on the shelf is disappointing. Some people are saying they appreciate the honesty, and I guess I agree .. to a point. But Ubisoft has been pretty shady in regards to Nintendo recently and I am quite disillusioned.

Extremely excited for these. The quality of titles on the eshop justifies a Wii U purchase to be honest.

This makes me oddly nostalgic considering I've never played Majora's Mask. I wouldn't mind a remake; the game is talked about so fondly by everyone I speak to.

I love Mega Sceptile and Diancie especially. Also love the idea of ancient devolution.. it fits so well. What is with some of these negative comments about the direction of the Pokemon series? If you ask me, Game Freak/Nintendo have done an amazing job at keeping the series relevant, alive, and balanced; mega evolutions are a step forward.
EDIT: Mega Castform. Please make it happen Game Freak.

I only own Wind Waker HD and Mario Kart 8 as I just got the bundle, but this is a great list for me to create a backlog from!

There are many conditions that would cause doctors to discourage long distance air travel. Since it's digital it's not too bad. Someone said this confirms something big at E3; how exactly? I don't see a correlation. Hope he gets better soon, I don't think this is anything to be too worried about. And we will have plenty of good news come E3!

I got the MK8 bundle, though I've yet to set it up (been insanely busy). I'm glad the game sold well so far, I just hope it continues to do so- and what we all really want to see, which is the hardware sales! Well I bought the bundle so that's 1 more Wii U sold..

Seems slightly unnecessary, but the thought of losing Animal Crossing data would worry me. I have almost.. 300 hours now?

What I like about this is that they are tapping into the potential of the next generation of programmers and developers.

I'm glad its getting localized. I've never played Harvest Moon but I've always wanted to. Odd situation about the name O_o

Due the massive scale of issues regarding broken release dates on games, it cannot be blamed on a few incompetent retail employees. These aren't isolated incidents and it seems to me to be very deliberate. There is also a domino effect (or there has been with past releases). When one company sees other companies selling, they jump ship and sell too as a means of not losing sales. Breaking release date is bad news as a whole, but I'm not personally outraged by it.

I'll get my copy Friday with my Wii U bundle, can't wait. Besides, those players will soon learn who the real MVP is >

I'm definitely too quick to judge on this, but I always kind of just viewed Lego games as shovelware. Granted, I have never played a Lego title. Nevertheless, I hope its a quality game and sells well..

A family member is getting Watch Dogs for Xbox One (which I've never actually played tbh) and I'm very interested in the game.. so I might play it a bit if it looks good. Also Wolfenstein looked amazing.

As for MK8, I pre-ordered the bundle but still haven't saved up enough to buy it, leaving me in a little .. predicament O_O

I liked the first one with the "photogenic" group of friends. You can cut the err.. romantic.. tension with a knife! Hehe, kidding. But I think the first commercial is a better way to sell games than the stereotypical family idea. Kids don't want to see commercials about a game they can play with parents IMO.

I think this should have been the stand-alone review. But hey, some of us enjoy off-putting bodysuits, as well as all things "unnatural and uncomfortable!"

I would be alright with DLC if its not overly-expensive and is 100% fair. In the meantime, I need to figure out if I should buy the MK8 bundle or not >_>

@readyletsgo Aside from your blatant anti-American comments, ("even in the states," ect.) you seem to have missed the point. You'd (much*) rather play the game than watch others do so, which is exactly the point of the advertisement. You see people playing the game and say "hey, that looks like fun, maybe I'll check it out." Obviously the goal of the marketing campaign is to create buzz and interest.

You can keep your bitter and derogatory comments to yourself next time as well.

I'm not too worried about this honestly. They'll most likely implement it in a way that won't have a negative impact, to be honest.

As someone who grew up with weird commercials (that now seem to be oddly lacking), this isn't "too" weird for me. Its definitely my favorite of the MK8 commercials so far.. in fact, I think its the best one. It has just like right amount of quirkiness but it showcases the game. well designed from a marketing standpoint for sure.

This is a good idea. its nice to actually market your products.

@River3636 A Mario Kart 8 port on the 3DS would kill any degree of system-moving potential the game has for the Wii U. I think we can rule that out.

I want Metroid, Monolift's game, Miyamoto's IP...or something else entirely, if its good

In all seriousness, that is good to hear and its a nice victory for the Wii U, regardless of how small. (though for some, this actually has an impact). To be honest, if they actively advertised it as an energy-saving game console, they would get some nice press/support for that..

How fitting that the female character on the end is wearing the "turnip dress". As someone who has over 265 hours in New Leaf (at last count), I'm majorly excited for The Villager to be included in Brawl. I actually just found my old Wild World cartridge last night! Oh how I wish I didn't trade in City Folk.

I've never played DW, but I really like the concept. This seems like a somewhat reasonable goal for Hyrule Warrors.. provided the Wii U stops getting so much (unfounded) negative press..

Hating on Nintendo is the new simultaneously mainstream and wanna-be-hipster fad. Obviously these articles are intended to find fault where there is none. Battle mode is the only vald complaint, but to be honest- In my years of Mario karting I have played battle mode maybe twice? The racism thing is absolutely laughable- these writers want attention. And why is that criticism aimed at Mario Kart 8? Too perfect timing for this woman's "complaint." They don't want to see the Wii U succeed. I guess we can just let the reviews of MK8 and E3 talk
