Re: Bomberman Is Coming To Arcades As Bombergirl

@PlywoodStick

I'm sorry, but you are horrible at debating. Nobody could take someone seriously who has to resort to calling someone mad or an idiot for saying something they disagree with. That's playground stuff.

Thanks for playing, but since you people started replying to me, not the other way around "I do not wish to speak to you further, and additional replies from you will be reported for harassment.
Goodbye."

@CharlieSmile Glad to hear it.

I only have an issue with one of those things and I'm sure you can be cured of that. Watching some of the Karen Straughan's video's with the same open mind that you no doubt approached feminism with may just do the trick. She's an absolute genius and just about the most impressive woman in the world that I've come across. I suspect your first instinct would be to recoil in horror at what she's saying, but if you push past this I'm sure you'll find what she has to say quite illuminating.

On a side note, she absolutely destroyed Thunderf00t in the comments sections of one of his video's which is no mean feat, him being a scientist and all. And that's not even hyperbole, as is so often the case.

@Anti-Matter Yeah, that's the name of the series, I just remembered the entry (no pun intended) called Super Big Brother, which is where I first came across the series. The games seem very entertaining, but I haven't tried one yet though.

Did you already know about the series then?

@ziffy Yes, made up languages can be cool, like in Halo where it's left to your imagination what the Elite's are saying, or like in Empire Strikes Back where a droid says "E-chu-ta" to C3PO who says "How rude", but it's left to your imagination what was actually said.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for these people if they showed the same respect for others that they demand for themselves though.

Re: Brexit Could Increase Super Mario Run's Unlock Cost In The UK

SeriousSam

@RainbowGazelle It's comments like yours that are what's moronic. The weaker pound means the things that we sell are more competitive abroad - so it's beneficial for our economy as backed up by recent figures about our GDP. The weaker pound also makes British products more competitive in the UK, since foreign products go up in price. Which is also good for our economy, businesses, and the people who work for them.

In the past the UK intentionally wiped value off the pound to make our exports more competitive, just as China is artificially deflating their currency, and Germany is benefiting from sharing their currency with a bunch of other countries whose economies are nowhere near as strong, meaning their exports are cheaper than they would be if they were still using their own currency which purely reflected the strength of their economy. Conversely this means they too pay more for imports - such as video games, but it's a small price to pay for all the benefits.

People in Russia don't have to pay much for video games - perhaps you would rather live there?

On a side note, the 'Brains of Remain' claims Britons should go on strike to protest Brexit because less than half of the people eligible to vote voted for Brexit, and idiots like Ricky Gervais retweeted this nonsense - whereas if they'd had a brain they might have bothered to check what proportion of the electorate voted to join the 'EU' (as it's now known) in the first place - which was also less than 50%.

So according to his logic we should have gone on strike to reverse EU membership even without a Brexit vote and what's happening now is what should have happened in the first place - and this clown has been hailed as the 'Brains of Brexit' - shows who the real morons are.

The wealth gap in the Western world is the biggest it's ever been - you might want to think about who it is that's actually benefiting from Globalism, and who it is that controls the mainstream media and left of centre politics, ie billionaires like George Soros, not to mention the Saudi Royal family who are worth over a trillion dollars. They donate millions to people like Hillary, and own large stakes in the main stream media, Twitter etc.

You might also want to read up about supply and demand, and consider the effects this has on things like wages and house prices when it comes to mass, uncontrolled, often unskilled immigration. Or you could just let the globalist billionaire controlled media do the thinking for you, the ones who actually benefit from globalism at the expense of the poorest in society, like the rest of the sheep.

Re: The Next Penelope Cancelled On Wii U, But Nintendo Switch Version Could Happen

SeriousSam

Shame, it has a great art style, seems like a cool game and Aurelien seems like a really cool guy. Seems to be more of an issue with Construct 2/the HTML-5 framework than the Wii U itself, it probably would have worked fine if it had been made in Unity. Hyperlight EX was made in Unity I believe and seems to run fine on the new 3DS despite having more going on than The Next Penelope.

Who knows, maybe his next game will make it to the Wii U, I'm sure games will continue to sell on it for a while yet.

Re: Video: Gorillas, Mechs And Lightning Bolts, Wii U FPS Draw The Line Has It All

SeriousSam

This game has so bad it's good written all over it - a pure cheese fest! And their slogan "Give us your heart" is the cheesiest thing of all!

That scantily clad woman getting punched by gorilla's was well funny, puts the stupid into stupidly good. I just hope he/they actually finish the game as so far he's announced loads of games and only released a poorly received break out clone as far as I'm aware.

Re: Playtonic Games Adds Two More Former Rare Devs to its Ranks

SeriousSam

Exactly Luna_110 - they promised to bring it to Wii U and showed that their promises are worth nothing and haven't even promised to bring it to the Switch - they just said they're looking into it. If the Switch GPU only has 40% power in portable mode it would need 2.5 times the power of the Wii U GPU just to equal the Wii U in portable mode, so these incredibly vague and mysterious "unforeseen technical issues" could well rear their heads again on the Switch - assuming they even exist.

Continuing to cover a company that have no confirmed Nintendo games is one thing, but Nintendo Life shouldn't pretend it's confirmed for Switch when it isn't - they were "working hard" to bring it to Wii U too. This article should be amended to reflect the fact it isn't confirmed.

Also, according to poll's I saw on the Playtonic forum's a huge number of backers were Wii U owners who wanted it on Wii U and Playtonic didn't even come out and offer refunds to people who may well have no way to play the game, at least for a couple of years or more - very shoddy behaviour. They're really starting to come across like a bunch of scum bag cow boy's taking Wii U owners money and running.

They effectively all, but worked for Nintendo, forged a reputation by either ripping off Nintendo games or working on Nintendo IP's, and now Nintendo fans, Rare's core fan base, as well as that of Playtonic by extension, may be the only people who can't play the game, at least on their preferred format(s). This game, Playtonic and everyone associated with them are massively tainted in my eyes now.

Re: Review: FreezeME (Wii U eShop)

SeriousSam

Bit surprised this got such a good score as I have the PC version and thought it was pretty meh. I've also got A Hat in Time and Poi, and A Hat in Time wipes the floor with the other two, it's really shaping up to be something special.

I forced myself to play some more of this recently, and I don't see how anyone could play this and A Hat in Time back to back and give this more than half the score they'd give A Hat in Time. If anything I'd say that saying A Hat in Time was merely twice as good would be doing it a massive disservive.

Hopefully it'll be coming to Wii U, or NX at least.

Re: Nintendo Won't Rule Out Giving Yooka-Laylee Additional Support On The eShop

SeriousSam

@Totaldude911 Looking on the Playtonic forums, the polls show way more people want it on Wii U than Xbox One and PS4 put together. So potentially they'll be alienating more people than they'll be including with that decision. I for one won't buy it unless it's significantly better than Tooie or DK64, whereas I would have supported it if it was a console exclusive.

Re: Nintendo Won't Rule Out Giving Yooka-Laylee Additional Support On The eShop

SeriousSam

There's no point in Nintendo giving this game special treatment, a multi-format game is hardly going to be a system seller, not for the Wii U at least. It might help fill out the game selection on the other consoles, plus they will have better graphics (higher resolution at least, maybe a better frame rate too).

Nintendo should save the special treatment for Wii U exclusives - games that actually deserve special treatment. Surely these things need to be a two way street, otherwise Nintendo are just mugging themselves off.

Re: Review: Land it Rocket (Wii U / Wii U eShop)

SeriousSam

Most people aren't cut out for making games. Most indie games sink without trace, only incredibly intelligent and talented people get anywhere with it. People might look at a POS indie game and think 'I can do that', when they should be looking at the very best indie games and asking themselves if they can do that. Because, like I say, only the very best will get anywhere. The guys making poor quality games will end up making no money and give up, but not before inspiring other people to make terrible games with no hope for success.

Re: Review: Cube Life: Island Survival (Wii U eShop)

Are those UK/EU prices correct? The US price equates to £4.50, the EU price equates to £10.12 and in the UK we have to pay £11.99? **** that. I was going to get this, but if we're going to be completely ripped off I'd rather spend the money on Lego Creator on PC.
