Re: PETA Launch Campaign Against Mario

Scissors

I'm a vegetarian, and I hate PETA. Thanks to them everyone thinks I'm some sort of radical extremist for not eating meat. They've done more to harm vegetarianism then they have to aid it. They spend more time doing these stupid publicity stunts, then actually presenting factual unbiased information. The thing is that their are many positives to being vegetarian, and they should be promoting those instead. As the old saying goes you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

You can't stop people from eating animals, that's that. It's like prohibition with alcohol, people are going to do what they want, and you just have to let them. Eating a little meat here and there isn't going to kill them, but eating it 3 times a day can be harmful in the long term.

if you present the factual information like that our bodies produce enough cholesterol that eating animal cholesterol can lead to heart failure, and that American meat is manufactured with many harmful growth hormones and chemicals that it's been banned in other country's then maybe you can convince some to stop eating meat or at-least reduce their intake or eat free-roam meat. Their are many positive studies that have proven the benefits of being vegetarian, but PETA doesn't talk about those. Instead they are constantly attacking pop-culture icons, and in turn demonizing vegetarianism. PETA uses scare tactics and tries to guilt people into not eating meat, but they should let people make their own choice. You can't force your values onto the world, but you can politely present information and if people ignore it you leave them alone because it's their choice.

PETA is a disgrace to vegetarianism, thanks to them people often act awkward around me when they discover I'm vegetarian. I usually have to go into a discussion about how I'm not a radical. They've turned something as simple as my diet into something for people to hate me for. I'm so sick of people telling me I'm going to hell for not eating meat, or that I'm weak and unhealthy. If PETA hadn't stepped in and made us all look crazy then people would be more willing to give vegetarianism a chance. I'm all for the ethical treatment of animals, but I strongly disapprove of scare tactics, manipulation through guilt, and doing so for a sense for moral superiority.

KNOW THIS: PETA does not represent vegetarians everywhere they're just the loudest group that has given us all a bad name.

It's simply that many of us are not excited for FPSs. I can play FPSs on my PS3, I stick with my Nintendo consoles for other reasons. I'll display my love for the prime series, Half-Life and Red Steel 2 any day, but I could care less for MW3 or BF3. The thing is if you're an FPS portable fan you're going to get a Vita, I'm all for diversity on the 3DS, but it really doesn't need FPSs. Chances are that if you're really into the FPS genre you already play those games on your PC, 360, or PS3.

The Wii U is going to get tons of multiplatfrom FPS love, so if you're a Nintendo fan jonesing for some gun-play you can get your fix there.

I don't know some people are saying this game is amazing others that it's terrible. The thing is that their are so many 2D platformers on the DS, that I'm not sure if this is worth getting. As it is I still haven't played Starfy of Kirby Super Start Ultra. Is this really that good? What makes this game special?

It's just a bad launch no big deal, the PS3 and 360 launches weren't too great either I remember my brother had a 360, and all we did with it was play geometry wars and replay the demo to Dead Rising over and over again. Then he caved in and bought Far Cry which did not translate well to a controller, the driving levels were so frustrating that it made me stop playing the game.

TGS went very well for me, but it did make me loathe having region lock. I really really want to play Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai, but that game will never make it out of Japan. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just import it like I did for Project Diva for the PSP.

One of my all time favorite games gets a 3DS spin off, and I won't be able to play it unless I buy a Japanese system.

I hope that the new Intelligent Systems game is a new IP, as much as I'd like them to work on a new entry in a series I really want to see some New Nintendo IPs.

I also hope that Yoshi game isn't another Yoshi's Island game, I've played the original and the DS sequel and couldn't really get into either. I wanted to like the game it was incredibly charming, and everyone else I know loves them both. The weren't bad, but neither of them really gripped me.

Re: Feature: Wii Controllers - What Could Have Been

Why does the classic controller have that button that pushes down the flaps in the back, anid what was the purpose of those flaps? Did they ever do anything with that?

A wireless classic controller with rumble would have been one of my favorite controllers ever. As it is having it attached to the Wiimote was just awkward, it was a short cable that had an anchor at the end. At the very least all the corners they cut while making the classic controller made it very cheap, I think I got mine for $10 on ebay.

Re: Max Factory to Unleash New Metroid: Other M Figures

I'm really happy about this Max Factory/Goodsmile Company is a great company. Their figures are highly detailed, and highly posable, and they come with alot of accessories usually with around 8 different pairs of hands. Basically whatever pose you can imagine you can pose them in. They're totally worth the money, the only downside is figmas are a little small usually around 5 In., most figures you buy at stores in the U.S are around 6in.

If you are thinking about importing I recommend purchasing from Ami Ami, they are almost always the cheapest, and they have really good customer service. If anyone has any questions about importing, or Japanese figure collecting feel free to ask me I'm pretty knowledgeable on that subject.
