I figured we'd see this as a DLC action game in one of the M2 Toaplan Garage collections. In the snooker clubs and arcades I used to loiter in as a kid, Snow Bros was always a busy cabinet. Much moreso than Bubble Bobble. The reviewer sounds like an irrational and quite petulant 9 yr old, here. You're fired buddy.
This is a pretty great package tbf to Capcom. It's much better than owning the Capcom Home Arcade since that's an abandoned lag-fest. I have this on Switch and PS5, and until last week I also owned the Capcom Home Arcade. There is the slightest bit of input latency docked compared to the PS4 version, but it's easily comparable in portable mode and I'm fine with that since that's why I have it on both consoles.
@OorWullie I bought the Japanese G-Darius HD release which cost $60 when Play Asia's cut is factored into it. I got the update earlier than those who bought the Western release and while it's welcomed, it looked like an ultra cheap minimal effort release.
Also, I know the Shot Triggers and Toaplan Garage packages are Japanese releases, but to leave Twin Cobra - the version most if not all Westerners are used to (it has respawns not checkpoints) w/out Gadgets is a bit of an oversight on M2's behalf. If not a little cheap.
Also, if you like shmups on Switch - the Live Wire Cave ports are pretty mega with some of the best input response on Switch. Get those.
@OorWullie I agree some are unnecessary compared to the Shot Triggers series, but it does look great and they've updated these games so they are the definitive versions going fwd. We begged M2 for Toaplan games and we got them, so I'm keeping up my end and buying them.
Another excellent effort from M2. I'm not one of these people who just offers blanket praise because it's the current orthodoxy (the Konami Contra collection is a disaster and the original G Darius HD was at best half-assed before the update), but they've done a great job here. I bought it on PS5 since that's where the rest of my Shot Triggers games are. With this and Ultimate Tiger out of the way, I wonder what the next package will include? My prediction is Slap Fight/Alcorn, VV and Demon's World.
Fine with it being a stand-alone. It'll likely feature the games from Arcade Cabinet that didn't make it to Arcade Stadium - Side Arms, 1943 Kai, Gunsmoke, Black Tiger and so on, and maybe Mars Matrix, Dimahoo and Gigawing 2 as the more recent Shmups as with the prev package and its inclusion of Pro Gear/Gigawing/1944.
Have to add that if you've got an Xbox Series, you can buy M2's Capcom Arcade Stadium or d/load if you had it on 360.
It's worth owning, as you'll see it's a precursor to M2's Shot Triggers series with customisation options for each of the games, with 1943 Kai's settings being the most interesting. If we use Arcade Stadium as a reference - I doubt we'll see these options on Arcade Stadium 2.
Not a stone cold classic, but I remember playing a credit or two in arcades/take aways that had it. I bought this and it's a good time, but I could do without Johnny Turbo's arcade and everything that entails
Memories of playing the official cabinet in Blackpool. It seemed so advanced at the time and cost a little more per credit than many other games. It's great to have access to it at home thanks to Hamster and their quality emulation.
This was a thrill to play through for the first time on Gamecube.
I believe this is the fourth time I've bought this - Gamecube - new/Xbox 360 - HD update/Wii - Wiimote /Switch - it's RE4 on a handheld and that's a valid reason to buy this again.
Hamster have demonstrated that great emulation and a barebones approach at a reasonable price is sometimes much better than the excesses of Johnny Turbo's arcade. The front end is horrible and the announcer is a nuisance. It's a shame so many Data East games are trapped by this publisher.
I bought this on the strength of Edge's review while I was about 150hrs into Elden Ring. It didn't distract me away from it, but I'm around 10 hrs in and I've been going for 100% so far having multiple plays of each of the levels. This is such a lovely game. I can't think of a better word, it's just that - lovely. A delight. Rescuing duck chicks to return to their mother? What's not to like, there? This is a fabulous alternative to the goth horror of something like Elden Ring. And as such it deserves its place.
This, to me feels like an evolution of Punch Out. Particularly the arcade versions. I could imagine a brightly coloured ARMS arcade cabinet if we still had a thriving arcade industry. There's a lot to love here and sadly, once again - the idiots just didn't get it.
I'm glad the only positive review of this love letter to one the finest videogame franchises is from you. You understand the game. I'm also glad the 'points' raised by those who've expressed negative opinions are all irrational and have no basis in objective reality - "IT ARE A FLASH GAEM HURRR HURRR"
Sadly, Capcom and the fans will lose, and the fools win (they win a little too often for my liking). And as such we'll likely never see another entry in the series.

Re: Review: Espgaluda II - Localisation Issues Can't Spoil This Superb Shmup
Excellent canceller from Cave. There's something about a screen-full of giant gold numbers. It's like a fruit machine.
Re: Review: Capcom Arcade Stadium - A Rich Tour Through The Coin-Op History Of A True Legend
@AtlanteanMan I agree, abandoning the Sega Ages games was a bad idea. I bought them all and I can't surely be the only one.

Re: Review: Battle Princess Madelyn Royal Edition - One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Having put a little time into this I think a 5 is very unfair. Particularly when compared to the recent G'nG Resurrection.

@Spiders Ultimate is a great game. I'd love to see it get a release on current digital market places. It's even 16:9.
Re: Cute 'Em Up 'Cotton Fantasy' Secures May Release Date On Switch
Looking forward to this, but on PS5.
Re: Review: Andro Dunos 2 - A Knockout Shmup Success That Nails The '90s Arcade Feel
16:9 mode added. The pixels are chunky enough so it doesn't appear stretched. Great game. Fantastic sound track too.

16:9 mode added. The pixels are chunky enough to take it without looking stretched. Win.

NMK doing a great job here for Jaleco. I wish Hamster would release Valtric.
Re: Arcade Archives DOUBLE DRAGON II The Revenge
Better than the original. Play this, not the original.
Re: Review: Radirgy Swag - Legwork Needed To Enjoy This Quirky Shmup

With Nintendo's supervision and a little input from Shin'en, Raw Thrills could and should be involved in the F-Zero we all want.
