@C-Olimar Oh come on. Now that's confusing, I looked it up when you said it didn't have a proper multiplayer and I got the same info. But WHAT a relief, I just tried it myself (a copy of the game + R4 + 2 DS'), and yes, you can play regular matches, and yes, the game is still pure awesomeness. Kind of a weird comparison, but it feels kind of like when you've saved up money like a year ago, and you know you're safe if your bank account runs out, and then you suddenly can't find that extra money - and then you do, at that moment, it feels even better to have it ....heh.

@C-Olimar Hold on - hold on - hold on - hold on... I remembered if you had multiple cards you could play regular matches.... I had played MP only using single card, and I was looking forward to finally try multi-card play... which doesn't exist... that's shocking and disappointing..

This is a unique, competitive, polished game, a small, tight package that works absolutely perfectly, and it's one of my many favorite games on the DS, and the original DS one is straight up 10/10 for me, it's flawless.

@Ichiban Kickstarter is making things possible that wouldn't ever be possible otherwise. Small teams coming forth and asking for a chance to do something bigger does in no way mean we'd have to start funding half of our games (funding them usually means you're getting a copy though), the large amount of Kickstarter campaigns means that people who aren't already doing something big are taking the only chance to do something big.

Awesome article! Straight to the point (and sadly, some people still seem a bit misinformed). Renegade Kid has clearly gained a lot of experience from experimenting, and from being as effective developers as possible in general.

Just pointless nitpicking. Stop complaining about the switch from 2D to 3D, which Pokemon for example also has, and it's not a problem for 99% of people. Weapon select on the touch screen has ALWAYS worked on DS FPS'.

"Huh ? So whats the 10€ pricetag for ? The Framework ? Or do i simply get a nice Title screen to look at ?"

You see this way too much. Expecially on NL. So incredibly much ignorance among nintendo fans. I mean that is just laughably bad. I've pretty much noticed that nintendo's community is also quite bad. We don't have the worst, the bad ass kids of nothing, but still.

They're already patching the stylus controls?! VD-Dev has become one of my favorite indie developers, ever.

And they just nailed the release method, it wouldn't be just the best for this game, it would be the best for any game, split the game and make a demo available for both sides. I mean this is the best release of any game ever on a nintendo console. That's a fact.

@Nintendian On hard mode, it's definitely not that simple, it was a blast, a really nice challenge.

I'm not playing Majora's Mask, I'm playing this. MM comes afterwards.
Anyway, there's no way giving a choise to not buy the mode you dislike is bad. There are lots of people who play only for multiplayer. There are also lots of people who play singleplayer only, as seen here in the comments. The split is absolutely brilliant, and that is not an opinion, it's a fact.

The sounds/music are actually perfect for this kind of game. Random, repetitive and scary noices - it reminds me of Yume Nikki, and it really adds to the atmosphere of the game. It also changes almost every room, so it doesn't get annoying.
AND HEY, FELLOW EUROPEANS: Renegade Kid wanted to try something new, they took risks with the Kickstarter and episodic release - they failed with it (but it's okay, they were experimenting and these kind of things happen) and that's why they are not doing well financially, and that's why they do not have the time and money to bring games to EU, their games simply don't sell well enough here, it's sad but true, but there aren't doing it ON PURPOSE, they aren't that evil, duh. They're currently trying to catch up with the money situation.

Good job Jools, this is exactly what expecially NL needed. They're a small team, they made the mistake of promising things. But nothing is cancelled. They have learned their lesson. I'm also just a regular fan, but I didn't get mad at them.

The thing I understood right away was that they do what they feel. They felt like taking a little break and doing something else and that's what they did. Depending on what mood you are, that's what you do best. If you do something you don't feel like doing, expecially designing, game designing and other art, it becomes forced and the result won't be even nearly as good. And soon you'll lose your interest in game designing in general.

I could easily see a person being stuck in making one game and just not feeling it. And then he'll just force himself to do it till it's finished. And the next game he's going to make suffers from this.
RK did something many people would never do, but it definitely helped them as developers. They figured out a different and better solution, which not many could even think of, or better yet, have any guts to do so. They took the risk of getting hate from people, which propably did affect them a bit, but it was the right thing to do, they're in a good position now because of it.

(keep in mind, that this is not the only reason they put Treasurenauts and Moon Chronicles on a halt)
