Some of the bigger games take a few seconds to load up, but after that it's smooth sailing!
I've got all my WiiWare titles on the first SD page, and then the VC titles staggered through the next 4 pages. And I can finally use the Internet Channel again. Huzzah!
An interesting bit from that page: "Some features of WiiConnect24 will not work with games or Wii Channels when they are launched from the SD Card Menu. These features will only work when the item is moved or copied into the Wii system memory."
Starwolf_UK: "anything saved from a game loaded from an SD card can not be moved or copied, just deleted from system memory... if u want full move/copy, u need the actual game channel on the system."
You're understanding it incorrectly I think. They are just talking about save data stored on the SD card not being accessible unless you move it to Wii memory.
Also, if World of Goo loads up (and it does), I'm pretty sure anything will. And it's far from lazy. As long as I don't have to copy it from the SD card to the menu, it's golden.
Well Iwata is set to speak on Wednesday at the GDC - since he'll be talking about the DSi, and if this is what Nintendo has been telling their reps to tell people at the events, then (hopefully) he ought to say something about it then.
@Corbie - I am definitely one of those who assumes this to be a coming feature. Though I expect(ed) it to be released Japan's way first for some reason.
I would love for this to be true, but it's awfully close to April 1, and this is the time of year you have to keep your guard up. I hope that no one is having a big laugh right now at the expense of many.
@Wolfcoyote - welcome to the site. I honestly wouldn't expect this to be available at launch (assuming it's true of course!), but I hope you'll still pick up a DSi. But at least we'll have the DSiWare on or shortly after launch!
(Also, I've read elsewhere as well that the DSi can support 8gb SD cards.)
I will believe it (and be more excited about it) when an official confirmation comes along... but there are a ton of old Gameboy games I'd love to have - the Castlevanias, the Zeldas, Kid Icarus OMAM, Metroid II, Final Fantasy Legends, Dragon Warrior/Quest, etc.
I know some people aren't too thrilled with mini versions of games coming to the DSi, but I am really looking forward to it. It's a good way for companies to advertise the full versions of their games, and good for gamers to be able to have a variety of games available without cartridge swapping.
I'll pay $2 for it - even if it is only a demo. The four player wireless thing sounds nice, but I hope no one is getting their hopes up for that to be online.
Looking forward to this - I'm much more likely to download this on the DSi instead of the Wii, simply because it'll be portable.
If this is available at launch (which Nnooo is apparently working hard to make it such), it's definitely got my interest. I think it's nifty that the upcoming Versus mode version will feature DSi to DS download multiplay. Nice touch.
Whether or not Earthbound comes to the VC, if Nintendo had no interest at all in Mother or Earthbound, they wouldn't have had their characters and items put in Melee or Brawl.
While this rumor may be true, I wouldn't say that it's conclusive - just because Earthbound isn't out now doesn't mean it won't ever be.
There was a version of Tetris, I think maybe it was on the Playstation 1, where in the multiplayer the better moves you made, made your opponents board flip around so they had a harder time seeing.
Is the multiplayer mode in Tetris Party like that?

Re: Motion Plus finally gets a date
@LinktotheFuture - hopefully WSR will have it bundled too.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
@anthonyb - the touch controls for Phantom Hourglass helped make it the awesomeness that it was. I hope they keep them in Spirit Tracks.
Re: Wii Storage Solution Solved - Finally A Use For The SD Card Slot!
@Stuffgamer1 - Agreed on the black background - it looks very awesome.
Re: Target Confirms 1000 Free DSi Points
Nintendo confirms free 1000 Points for DSi.
http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=17844
The offer will be good for 6 months after the DSi's release.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
FYI: The trailer is available on the Nintendo Channel.
Re: Wii Storage Solution Solved - Finally A Use For The SD Card Slot!
It works great - it was a long time coming too!

Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
@bboy2970 - Wifi works, I just finished playing some Tetris online.
Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
@bboy2970 - Not sure, I have everything on my SD card now, so there's a ton of space on my Wii now.
@saturnkid - it's most likely as bboy2970 said - clear some space on your Wii.
@Terranigma - Not sure, I'm not having any problems with it.
Official SD Channel webpage is up - http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/channelsSD.jsp
An interesting bit from that page:
"Some features of WiiConnect24 will not work with games or Wii Channels when they are launched from the SD Card Menu. These features will only work when the item is moved or copied into the Wii system memory."
Wonder what that will affect?
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
This is great news... Phantom Hourglass is one of my favorite DS titles. I was hoping another would be released on it!
Re: Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After All
No announcement from Iwata today on this.
Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
@RGVEDA - no, that was a DS game, not DSiWare.
Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
@slangman - they just announced it at the GDC.

Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
I just got finished rearranging all my channels on the original and SD menu. This was an awesome update.
Edit: The US received the same Arcade games listed above.
Re: Eyes on DSi - hands-on report
April 5 can't come fast enough - 12 more days!
Re: Review: Marble Saga: Kororinpa (Wii)
A shame about the Balance Board levels being frustrating, and that it's not an option to use for the entire game.

Re: Target Confirms 1000 Free DSi Points
Looks like Target pulled the 1000 free points info out of the product description. A mad email from Nintendo perhaps?
Re: Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After All
@Stuffgamer1 - the events were held in NY, VA, OH, and FL, and only Platinum Members near these places were sent the invitations.
Re: Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After All
@Stuffgamer1: It may have been, but the only confirmation we have is that guy's word for it.

Re: Target Confirms 1000 Free DSi Points
This is great news and I can't wait to see wait to see what DSiWare will launch with.
Re: Akinai Games Announces NEVES Plus
Looks interesting - I never played (or even heard of, tbh) the DS version. The wife and I are big fans of puzzle games though.
500+ = a lot of puzzles. Depending on the price, I may give it a look-see.

Re: GameLoft Enters the DSiWare Market
@KnucklesSonic8
Definitely - if Uno has online play, that'll be a quick purchase for me as well. No online? Maybe if it's cheap.
Re: Nnooo Interview - Pop Plus: Solo
Looking forward to this, and VS. I hope they have it ready by launch.
Re: Pop Plus: Solo Coming to DSiWare
@Corbie - Ouch.
Eh, I guess I'd rather sound like him the look like him.
Re: Pop Plus: Solo Coming to DSiWare
@ Corbie: No, just trying to help!
Re: Pop Plus: Solo Coming to DSiWare
@subzerobf
They said in an interview that once Pop Plus was finished, they hoped to have an announcement in that regard.

Re: More DSiWare: Mighty Flip Champs!
I'm hopeful for this to be released on or near the DSi's launch - I'm also really glad to see some original content early on for DSiWare.
Re: Rumour: EarthBound Not Coming to Virtual Console
NoA is not the villain here...
@79. ness "This was NoJ, not NoA "
The Earthbound demo was taken out of the NA Brawl, they didn't Have to leave anything else about Earthbound/Mother in it... I'll stick by my point.
Re: Rumour: EarthBound Not Coming to Virtual Console
Whether or not Earthbound comes to the VC, if Nintendo had no interest at all in Mother or Earthbound, they wouldn't have had their characters and items put in Melee or Brawl.
While this rumor may be true, I wouldn't say that it's conclusive - just because Earthbound isn't out now doesn't mean it won't ever be.
Re: Hudson Not Abandoning Virtual Console After All?
Dracula X: Rondo of Blood (TG16)... Please!
Re: USA VC Update: Kirby's Dream Land 3
These tiny weekly updates are somewhat tiring. I would have figured more releases a week when WiiWare launched, not less.
Honestly.. 2 new games?

Re: Virtual Console Reviews is Two Today!
Happy Birthday VC Reviews - keep up the awesome work!
Re: USA VC Releases: Secret of Mana and Street Fighter II Genesis
Best virtual console day ever.
Re: USA VC Releases: Mario Golf and Shining Force II
Maybe Hudson should stop confirming things they have no control over?
Re: Virtual Console games to be directly downloadable to SD cards
Very weak. Not the solution I had in mind at all.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - September 2008
Oh, my, lord.
I <3 Secret of Mana.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2008 (Super Mario RPG!)
Please come to NA soon... I'd gladly pay 900 points for it, 1000 even.
Re: Soul Blazer – The Virtual Console Release That Never Was?
Soul Blader really is a great game - one of my favorites on the SNES. I hope this leads to its release soon...
Re: Nintendo Channel for Wii now available in North America
Awesome channel. Love the DS downloads.
Hope they add more DS demos often.
Re: ESRB Update: EarthBound Finally Coming To Virtual Console!
This is the best news I've heard all day.
Awesomeness~!
Re: Bionic Commando NOT coming to the Virtual Console!
Perhaps if Capcom were making a new Bionic Commando for the Wii and not just the other systems, they would put the original on the VC.
I think it makes perfect sense.
Re: Double Dragon
The NES version sucked bad in comparison to the arcade. No 2p coop? No thanks.
I'll definitely pick up Double Dragon 2 when it comes though.
Re: US VC Releases - 21st April - River City Ransom
@dualj
NES version > GBA version
The GBA version seemed really 'dumbed down' to me.
