The idea is lovely and "wholesome" but I can smell the microtransactions. Pet food, toys, beds, costumes. There's probably certain things to breed with. Stuff to speed up the resultant eggs. I may be cynical, but this will be a huge cash sink for some.
@Solaine It wouldn't get you into Suikoden as a series really. The games have an over arching narrative set in the same world, with recurring characters and such. 1,2 and 3 were direct sequels where your save games transferred to the next game and had some minor impact. It's still my favourite RPG series. That said, if it's going to be a spiritual successor, hopefully we'll see the same sort of thing for this and possible future games in this series.
I had one of the games on GBA iirc. I loved it and always wondered why there were never any follow ups. Would be nice it it spawned a new game and we got over here.
Is it a remake of the original game or a new XIII game? It looks like a totally new game based on the source material rather than a remake, but calling it a remake might bring in fans of the original?
I'd assume it's to protect that tiny bit of screen that shows while it's docked. My switch pretty much lives in it's dock, so I'd guess some people worry the screen may get scratched.
I'd like to see how the votes worked out. Be interesting to see how the margins were for some of the characters. Sephiroth and Auron being lower down is quite shocking.
I went to see it with one of the guys I care for and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a good "kid's" film. There are some incredibly cringey moments, but I can see why it's done so well. I doubt I'd see it again, but if they do a sequel, I'd be quite happy to check it out.
My 2 cents. A friend of mine applied for a job at game. Very attractive woman. No interest in games. Just needed a job after finishing uni. Got the job. Was not the "go to guy" you used to find in every store when I was younger. Popped in there just before Christmas with a guy I support. He knows everything you can think of about gaming. Very attractive woman working there. He was trying to speak to her about something, think it was the new Star Wars jedi game. She didn't know what he was talking about. I've never been to a clothing store and met a staff member who didn't know about the clothes. This kind of practice is what has been killing GAME since I was young. Not to get at the people who are being employed who don't enjoy games, but someone shouldn't be working in a dedicated gaming store who doesn't breathe video games. If I go to my local hobby store every member of staff gets involved in MTG or yugi oh, has a working knowledge of most of the games they sell and they get involved with the customer. If GAME did this, people would probably be more inclined to come in and drop cash.
@nessisonett It's insane bad in my area. There's no fibre in a good deal of the streets around where I live. For such a well populated area it's pretty pathetic.
I have no interest in a cloud service. I like having a console and OWNING my games. Keep subscription services to Wow etc.
And even if I did like the idea of the cloud, Internet coverage where I live, in Liverpool, UK, is abysmal. Download rates in my area are shockingly slow, still on adsl. You can barely download on a connection this bad, let alone stream a game.
I think 10 years away is a Conservative estimate for the majority in regards to a streamed gaming service. My connection on a small island when I lived in norway was 50 times better than here.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Scarlet And Violet?
@Wexter This. I'm glad someone else remembers that alot of the best games ever made were absolute messes at launch.
Re: Feature: Will These 10 Classic JRPGs Ever Come To Switch?
I'd love Xenogears, but if I remember rightly there's issues with licenses over music and such, which is why it's never had a rerelease.
Let's get Breath of Fire 3 and 4. They're games I replay more than anything other than Suikoden.

Re: Review: Star Renegades - Borrows Ideas From The Best To Create A Truly Inventive RPG
This game is a real gem. Minor issues aside, really reminds me of ftl in a sense, but is turn based. Highly recommend.

I could not be more into this.
Re: Review: Ultracore - DICE's Lost 1994 Run And Gun Shooter Is Reborn On Switch
Ah, reminds me of King's Bounty. Now that was the ultimate in writing down passwords.
Re: Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower Of Fortune And The Dice Of Fate Scores Western Switch Release
Double dip. Absolutely loved this game.
Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Roguelikes, Roguelites And Run-Based Games
I love roguelikes. Damn fine list. Just missing Tangledeep and Nuclear Throne (one of my all time favourites).

Re: Random: Sonic Boom Won't Be Returning, According To Television Show's Executive Producer
I'm actually a bit gutted. I used to watch this in work with one of the kids I look after.

Re: Axiom Verge Creator Open To Developing More Entries After He Finishes The Sequel
Glad he's against making it multiplayer. I don't see the need in adding multiplayer to every game.
Re: Random: This Fake Nintendo Switch Comes With 800 Games, But You Won't Want It For Christmas
I love the music in the trailer. Reminds me of something from breath of fire 4.
Re: Random: Taiwanese Retailer Bundles Nintendo Switch With A Toilet Seat
Genius! Now if they start doing the same at phone retailers, toilet seat sales will explode the world over.
Re: Nintendo Expands The Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Six Classic Games
@Branovices That would be excellent. Probably my favourite game of all time.
