Re: Nintendo Power Magazine Looks Set to Shut Down

@mamp You obviously haven't picked up a Nintendo Power magazine in the last 7 years. They have cut back their news section in favor of more hands-on previews and feature articles, and these provide more depth and entertainment than anything on the internet. They actually give in-depth previews of games they've played builds of, which is something hard to find on the internet. If anything, the recent news is an afterthought in recent NP issues.

I love this magazine. Quality was present on every page. It often got me interested in games I would have never given a second glance. At one point I even aspired to maybe write for them someday. I really hope they renew their publication.

The eShop list is so much better than the 3DS list. NightSky, I was looking forward to playing you this summer, but after 3 years of waiting I suppose a few more months can't hurt.

And I suppose Castlevania won't be coming out this year either? Great. Unless I suddenly want Paper Mario, no new retail 3DS games for me the rest of the year.

Re: GameStop Exploring Possibility of Second-Hand Digital Sales

Why anyone would want a company that provides thousands of jobs to go bankrupt is beyond me... I don't see anyone complaining about used CDs or records or anything else that is sold as used. And that includes everything ever made. Most people who buy used probably wouldn't buy at all if it wasn't an option.

@ramstrong I resent that generalization. It isn't based on any facts. It is based on some sort of pre-established idea in your mind.

I would love to be able to take the time to learn this. But I'm not going to spend my money on it when I know after this month I will have 0 free time. I guess I am just another "lazy American." Give me a break.

And Like tbd said, there are plenty who are using this and making great things. Most of which probably don't even visit this site.

Re: Bing Gordon: Nintendo's 'On Track' to Primarily Focus on Software

I sure wish I had one of these crystal balls the industry insiders seem to be passing around. Does this guy know how many DS and Wii consoles were sold worldwide? They're insane numbers. I don't mind if they switch to software only, but I wouldn't really predict such a move until these numbers are disproved this next generation.

Re: pitchWinPLAY Competition Cancelled

I was contemplating entering. I have a pretty well developed game idea. But in the end I did not have a spare $50 to spend on an entry that had no guarantee. And besides that, I'm not sure I would really trust Renegade Kid with my game. Sure, they made Mutant Mudds, which is love-it or hate-it. Sure, they made a few horror games on the DS and a very simple puzzle game. But I haven't seen anything that would assure me that my game would be of the highest quality. I may never get around to making my game, but at least it's still mine.
