Speaking at EA's first quarter earnings meeting, EA chief operating officer Peter Moore mentioned that the company is "keeping a very close eye" on Wii U. Earlier, FIFA 13 was confirmed for Wii U.
IGN reports that Moore noted Wii U's "lackluster response" at E3, but that Nintendo is not a company to take lightly, "as proven by the last generation". He also claimed that EA's "great franchises [are] poised to be on that platform", but any announcements would have to wait for another day.
That day might come soon, with EA's Summer Showcase scheduled for tomorrow, 2nd August. The action should be kicking off at 1pm PDT / 4pm EDT / 9pm BST; hopefully we'll see some Wii U games there.

I wanna see more of Ghost Recon Online or whatever, but on the WiiU. Also a battlefield/medal of honor game on the WiiU, and a Madden game even though I don't care for sports.
Mutant League Hockey U - make it happen EA! >:[
If I get a Wii U it won't be for generic EA games. I'm not a fan of the company anymore.
Wait a minute. Some EA figurehead was on stage with Reggie at E3 last year, promising staunch support for Wii U. Now they're "keeping an eye on it?"
@Burning_Spear
Exactly my thoughts as well.. Very weird.
@Burning_Spear Find that wierd to. :/
I'm keeping an eye on the pie in the oven, hopefully it doesn't burn before I get to it.
Yeah, I'll echo Burning Spear here and say that sounds a little less like a new partnership attitude. Did something happen between these companies behind the scenes we're not aware of to change EA's attitude?
Wow EA, you, as a major 3rd party publisher, are keeping a close eye on Nintendo's new game console. My god I...what...I never could have guessed such a thing. It's quite interesting and brilliant. What insight into the world of corporate America! Next time EA will be talking about how they expect their next sports game to make a profit. Followed by pointing out that they believe the sun will rise tomorrow.
Work close with Nintendo to get things up to snuff for the most part for what the Wii U needed to have and now you'll wait and see? ... yeeeaahh...
@Burning_Spear Steam?
I hope Nintendo saw them get the award for worst company of the year and said "Keep your distance, we wont stop you but you're no longer our representative for 3rd Party Support" so now they're playing it safe.
I'm completely fine with this though; anything to keep Origin the heck away from my Wii U.
I was thinking along the same lines of @C7_
EA: We're going to help with the Nintendo Online structure!
Nintendo: Oh boy! What do you have in mind?
EA: DLC for EVERYTHING!
Nintendo:...
EA: EVRYTHAN!!!!
I remember when I bought Skate 3 and it came with a code for using the online modes. So yeah, I don't like EA.
Back! Back! back I say
@SamIAm69 Ghost recon is ubisoft right? I've never really been a fan of EA before.
I hope we get Dead Space 3 on the Wii U.
I really hope Nintendo tells EA to go screw itself and take its crappy games elsewhere. It should do the same to Activision and Ubisoft as well.
