Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Try to Recapture 'Hardcore' Gamers?

This is all just a result of the human instinct to categorize things, and to integrate these categories into social pressures. It's quite silly, and I just ignore it. This is one of the major reasons why I now frequent NLife more than IGN or Kotaku, etc. Just straight up games journalism with clearly-labeled editorials and such. I truly appreciate this.

Re: Talking Point: How 3DS Can Thrive at E3

Nice read. I believe the 3D technology of the 3DS is something that can be used to quite literally add another dimension to gaming. The possibilities for the 3DS are one of the few things that still excites me about the video game industry, what with the constant production of stale, lifeless sequels and FPS's. I look to Metal Gear Solid as a game to really look forward to, and I hope the technology will be utilized to its full potential. I can imagine peaking around a wall, a tree, whatever it may be, using the gyroscope and feeling as if the world never ends, a sense only given by the 3DS's 3D. I truly believe that Nintendo will produce a game that shows not only the potential of the 3DS, but shows what the 3DS and the 3D technology can do in terms of gameplay and a completely new experience.

Re: Not Konami's Intention to Make Lautrec Look Like Layton

As I said before, the game doesn't look like Layton at all. There's just a top hat and an intriguing plot. No one seems to know how the game will actually play, or if the puzzles will be like Layton at all. The screenshots don't look similar. Regardless, the majority of games are "inspired" by or ripped from another. Big deal.

Re: Talking Point: Is the DS Dead at Retail?

I plan on buying 4 DS games before the 3DS, if I can ever get the cash. And they're all new releases. Theoretically, DS games shouldn't die, considering that the 3DS is back-compatible. But the excitement surrounding the 3DS and its games will drown out the remaining DS releases, which is quite sad considering some of the unique and great titles just now being released including Ghost Trick and Radiant Historia. I'll continue to support the DS as long as creative, unique games are released.

Re: WiiWare Super Meat Boy Gets Canned

Ah well, I wasn't going to waste my money on this anyway. The developers seem a little picky with the whole "Sony didn't shower us with love so screw them." If anything though, this should open Nintendo's eyes to the problems their size limits create, even if this is just Team Meat's way of cutting the work load.
