Re: 2DS Gets a Price Cut to $79.99 in North America

PikminSalad

Not that I care about the 2DS but at least now people really don't have much of an excuse "oh 3DS is too expensive for me". I mean come on how much cheaper can you get than this? It is by far the least expensive gaming platform out there.

Re: Launching NX Next Year Is The "Proper" Thing To Do, Says Nintendo Boss Tatsumi Kimishima

PikminSalad

I think it's a huge mistake missing the holiday 2016 especially with NOTHING coming out for Wii U (except Paper Mario, but let's face it, 1 game is not enough) until Zelda comes out in March (if it even comes out then, I don't even know if I believe them anymore). NIntendo never played by the rules though, they always step to the beat of their own drum so who knows. Maybe this will work out for them, but I, for one, am skeptical.

Re: Feature: A Summary of Nintendo's Key Announcements on NX, E3 and Mobile

PikminSalad

My trust in the company has been shaky at best for the last 5 years or so but damn now I can't even trust ANYthing they say. "Zelda coming in 2015. No wait 2016. No wait 2017" "Oh we will never go mobile" oh what's this, Nintendo going mobile? "We will never do DLC" What's this, they do DLC? "DS is a third pillar won't replace GBA" Oh what's this DS replaced GBA? "We have a few surprises left for Wii U owners!" The surpirse is that there is nothing left to look forward to. Good job, Nintendo, you successfully made me into a Sony fan.

Re: Feature: Smiles and Tears - A Mother 3 Retrospective

PikminSalad

EarthBound has been my all time favorite game for 20 years, Mother 3/EarthBound 64 I have followed for years much to disappointment that EB64 got cancelled, then delight that Mother 3 got released, then disappointment of no Western release, then joy of a fan translation... geez as an EB fan of 2 decades you have no idea the emotional turnoil Nintendo has put us Mother fans through. It's been hell. At this point I don't get my hopes up. I don't expect a Western release any time soon but yes I would really, really, really love one. (Though the thing that would please me most more than anything in gaming, would be to finally release a completed EarthBound 64 - same game yes but different engine - although the chances of that happening are literally zero)

Re: Talking Point: PS4K 'Neo', NX and Supplemental Computing Devices - Home Console Gaming May Be Changing

PikminSalad

I see no reason to get excited about PS4 Neo honestly. It's just an upgraded PS4, and if every game developed for PS4 is required to support both the PS4 and the Neo, then I'm fine with my regular PS4. Do that many people even have 4K TVs yet? Maybe they do, but I probably won't be getting one for another 4 or 5 years, if the technology is even still relevant. I'm very curious about what NX could be but after reading this article it almost makes me wonder if the NX is just an upgraded Wii U... If this is the case I wouldn't be too thrilled but would probably spend the money anyway.

Re: Another Former Rare Staffer Joins the Yooka-Laylee Project

PikminSalad

Rare on the N64 days were my absolute favorite developer. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this game! Probably my most hyped game right now except for Zelda. Conker's Bad Fur Day is not only my favorite Rare game but my 2nd favorite game of all time. Banjo-Kazooie is very close to that, and I have a lot of love for Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, Killer Instinct, the Donkey Kong Country series, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark too. Basically I love all things 90s Rare!

Re: Poll: The Wii U GamePad - Where Do You Stand on Nintendo's Hefty Controller?

PikminSalad

Personally I like the gamepad. I wouldn't go so far to call it my favorite controller... well it could've been if the battery life was a lot better... but despite its big size it's actually quite comfortable, the screen adds extra utility to the games that use it, and off screen gameplay is my favorite feature and I have used it A LOT this generation. Even the motion controls in the gamepad are great, way better than Wii's motion controls that's for sure. motion control aiming in the Zelda rereleases and Splatoon... awesome. I haven't tried Star Fox yet but I'm willing to bet the motion controls work well in it. Overall I like the gamepad a lot. But it sadly went underutilized and never reached its full potential.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2016 - Spring Edition

PikminSalad

@Philo I was just about to say the same thing. Yooka-Laylee is definitely one of my most anticipated games, probably 2nd only to Zelda. Other than that the only other games I'm planning on getting from this list are Star Fox and Paper Mario, and I'm not super excited for either one of those.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Planning A Series Of Wii U Remasters For NX

PikminSalad

I can't say I'm surprised by this news. Wii U did not sell very well, and to be quite honest I think it's actually a smart move by Nintendo, to bring out the most popular games for Wii U for people who missed out on it. I personally won't be buying any of the NX ports since I have them all for Wii U and I am keeping my Wii U. But good news (well, rumors) for people who want an NX but missed out on Wii U.
