The lag on modern flat panels can make on-screen display response on twitch-type games, such as Mario Golf or Guitar Hero delayed. Believe it or not a CRT works best as there is no video processing being done on the image, and therefore, no lag.

@polivar4 i prefer the GBA version personally.

This game is phenomenal. The lag on a modern flatscreen tv might be unbearable though.

@Pod I totally agree with you. Nintendo could have been a little more elegant in announcing the DLC through the in-game menus. It's like they are screaming reminders about the DLC you haven't purchased with each menu opened.

As quality as the content is likely to be nintendo is really pushy with the DLC. They display the content on the main menu, the character select screen and the stage select screen. This is extremely obtrusive.

They put a store link in my beautiful Mario Kart game. Makes me wish for the Nintendo of yesteryear.

I've been arguing for a unified (personal account not tied to the console) since the early days of the Wii! This seriously frustrates me as a long-time Nintendo fan!

Yes! Great to see this game get some press. I've been following it's progress ever since an article on USGamer opened my eyes up to it.. It looks fantastic!

That was an awesome article that demonstrates how someone younger can also appreciate the classics. However, having been around since the mid-70's I can, I believe, somewhat objectively, say that those older games truly provide better experiences than new games. SORRY but it's true.

The original Xbox could output in 720 (the native resolution of most WiiU games) and that system came out in 2001. I believe Nintendo should have better fore site (or does have better foresite and that this is just a nice-sounding story they've fabricated).

@Darknyht man I hear you. I "invested" a crazy number of dollars in VC games that are essentially worthless 'cause they're tied to the console. Honestly I feel a little betrayed by Nintendo based on their out-dated digital policies.

If memory serves me correctly, I think the charge up sound effect also uses one sound channel, which impacts the soundtrack negatively as well.

I just picked up a TG-16 last summer. I really enjoy it.
