Not being able to play Wii VC games on the gamepad stinks! Not, however, simply because the WiiU won't beam the game image to the pad, but because Nintendo seems to be confirming that, going forward, there will be two tiers of VC games (Wii VC and WiiU VC). Old Wii VC downloads will be playable, but in a "second-class citizen sort of way". You will be encouraged to purchase WiiU VC games and your old VC games will eventually go unsupported.
@Cipher thanks for the response Cipher, but I understand perfectly well. Two tiers (catalogues) of VC games: one playable on gamepad, one not. My old VC downloads playable, but defunct, and not playable on the gamepad. Nintendo is strong-arming us to repurchase VC games for the privilege of gamepad support. It's infuriating!

What! So they'll be two tiers of VC games: those original VC games not playable on the gamepad and new VC games that are? Is Nintendo expecting me to reinvest in VC games that I've already purchased just for the privilege of playing them properly on the gamepad?!

One of the reasons I have for purchasing a WiiU is so I can finally link those Virtual Console purchases I made (on Wii) to an account. That way they are "backed-up" in a sense, in case the console breaks down (and can hopefully be redownloaded to a new WiiU).
Oh my hero, so far away now. Will I ever see your smile? Love goes away, like night into day. It's just a fading dream.
I'm the darkness, you're the stars. Our love is brighter than the sun. For eternity, for me there can be only you, my chosen one.
Must I forget you? Our solem promise? Will autumn take the place of spring? What shall I do? I'm lost without you. Speak to me once more.
[He appears to her and they dance] [He then fades away, leaving a bouquet of flowers] [She takes the flowers to the top of the balcony and tosses them to the wind]
We must part now. My life goes on, but my heart wont give you up Ere I walk away, let me hear you say, I meant as much to you...
So gently, you touched my heart. I will be forever yours. Come what may, I won't age a day, I'll wait for you always...

Read a review on an upscaler a short while ago. The conclusion: save your money as it introduces artifacts and doesn't provide an appreciable difference in video quality. One's best A/V option includes a component cable and surround sound setup.
My two year old son prefers to play NES (especially Duck Hunt) over PS3 or Wii. I believe it has to do with there more immediate ability to generate joy. At any rate his preference for older games speaks volumes.
Also Serge, the Anniversary Collection has the jump and fire buttons backwards and you're forced to use the Gamecube's analog stick! I own it, but I've also been downloading the VC games because they are much truer to the originals.
Cave story costs a little more because it includes downloadable content that was originally gonna cost extra. Believe me, this game is easily worth it's asking price and far better (especially control-wise) than the free-ware version.
Here's a post from an iPad: this thing doesn't have any buttons. It a great piece of technology though, however, nintendo definately has something big to unveil.
Already have it for SNES but can't resist getting it again on the Wii! It was the title that introduced me to the RPG genre and for that I owe a debt of gratitude to this game.
Great game but not looking too good on a HD display. On a standard resolution television it seems to look a little better because it smooths over the graphical imperfections (almost like you're looking through a jelly-smeared lens). Anybody else finding it really difficult to find Wii points cards for sale? I live in Saskatchewan and every place I go seems to have them sold out.
Anyone know how many blocks of Wii memory this game requires for download? I'm virtually tapped out and I don't really want to remove any of my previous downloads. Thanks in advance.
Hope it works with the upcoming Samurai Shodown compilation. Because the Wii's classic controller isn't compatible with Metal Slug Anniversary, it's not likely that the NeoGeo2 stick works with Metal Slug Anniversary, so by extension I'm not holding my breath that it works with Samurai Shodown compilation.

This game is awesome
Re: Review: Legend of Hero Tonma (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
It looks fun. I agree.
Re: Review: Legend of Hero Tonma (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
I agree. It looks fun!
Re: Mass Effect 3 Wii U Content Detailed
How does this version stack up to the PS3 version framerate and resolution-wise? That version was truly a chuggy mess. I regret purchasing it.
Re: Wii U Kiosks Will Allow Gamers To Try Before They Buy
Got my black unit preordered. But won't be opening 'till Christmas. My willpower is unbelievable.
Re: Review: Seiken Densetsu 3 (Super Nintendo)
Yeah. It's true just got mine in the mail. Cost around $95.00 Canadian for CIB copy.
Re: Interview: The Trouble With The TurboGrafx-16
Great interview!
Re: Interview: The Trouble With The TurboGrafx-16
I never appreciated how close the release date for the Genesis and TG-16 were.
Re: The Famicom's Biggest Rival Is 25 Years Old
Just purchased A TG-16. I wanted one all my life. Games are simple, but still very enjoyable.
Re: Review: Ninja Spirit (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
Just bought this game off of eBay. I love it! Simple yet deep.
Re: Award Winning Short Film Shows the Power of Zelda and Escapism
Wow, very powerful and raw.
Re: Review: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (3DS eShop / NES)
You kids are all wrong...this game deserves a 10. Best Zelda ever.
Re: Sumo Digital Declares Wii U Capabilities to be "On Par" or Better Than PS3
@6ch6ris6 I know it's probably hard to swallow, but I believe, the Wii is slightly less powerful than the original Xbox. That thing ouput in 720p!
Re: Could The Wii U GamePad Suffer From Latency?
How'd they measure that 116ms lag exacly?
Re: Mass Effect 3 Set to Launch Alongside Wii U
Hope the framerate beats my PS3 version. Doesn't normally bother me, but boy is that version choppy.
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda (Wii Virtual Console / NES)
Nostalgia aside, this game still deserves a 10.
Re: Review: Breath of Fire II (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
Is is as good as the first one?
Re: Feature: 20 Years of the Super NES
No Ogre Battle huh? What about Final Fantasy VI? How's about Earthbound? Or Super Metroid? Yoshi's Island?
Re: Fils-Aime: Next Home Console Unlikely to be 3D
I have a 58" 3D television and honestly I love it. I originally didn't think I'd use the 3D functionality very often but that's not the case.
Re: Review: Final Fantasy II (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
Great game. Loved the GBA remake as well.

Final Fantasy VI? Where are you?
Re: Review: Baseball Stars 2 (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
Yeah...it's probably the best baseball game out there.

Re: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Dawn of Sorrow is a far superior game to Order of Ecclesia.
Re: Review: Beyond Oasis (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)
Very enjoyable romp that reminds me of Shantae and Aladdin!
Re: Review: Mega Man 3 (Virtual Console / NES)
It is an incredibly hard Mega Man especially after you've defeated the original 8 robot masters! I've always preferred Mega Man II.
Re: Review: Double Dragon (Virtual Console / NES)
Man I loved this game back in the day! It's carved a huge place in video game history. Remember Jimmy playing this game in the Wizard?
Re: Review: Cybernator (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
Classic through and though. Has a punishing difficulty level though.

Apparently there the next Zelda will apparently contain a rumored flying element. Airships in a Zelda game? Can't wait!
Re: Nintendo Silence Talking Link
Wow they put a lot of work into that trailer and you know what . . . I liked it!
Re: Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium
Incredible Genesis game! Easily the best of the Phantasy Star franchise. Can't wait 'till it comes to North America!
