Re: First Impressions: GoldenEye 007 Multiplayer

Oregano

@JamieO: I think Rare does indeed own the games design which is why they can't perfectly replicate the levels and I really wouldn't count on it following the original too closely.

One of the producers did mention that they would feature altered versions of the original maps though which is good and whilst it does seem to add its own set pieces it looks like it's trying to maintain that James Bond feel and something of a modernised Goldeneye feel(which may upset some people).

Re: Review: Tournament of Legends (Wii)

@Corbie: I don't know what happened with that game, apparently it was supposed to be at E3 this year but one of the Wiis bricked it so they had to use the Animales de la Muerte for TCon 2 or ToL.

Re: Review: Tournament of Legends (Wii)

Oregano

Yeah, I've seen the scientist going crazy.

@ejamer: Some people overhype The Conduit and it ended up an okay game but not great. I don't think ToL was that hyped after changing from Gladiator AD which is why it went budget priced(I think).

Nice! Thanks for the review Corbinator!

Still got this ordered because I want to try it out! Eurogamer said the graphics were bad so it's very interesting that you thought they were good.

@Adam: I haven't had any issues with the camera but I suppose when it gets hectic it can be troublesome. So far though when you need to move the camera you can just stop to do it.

I also haven't experienced any bugs with the EU version. I might just be lucky though.

Re: Enter the Steamy World of Tower Defence

Oregano

Wow, this looks pretty damn cool. I like the visual style, even if there isn't much variety by the looks of it.

Wonder why there's so many tower defense games but no traditional SRPGs on the download services(apart from DQ Wars which is a bit more like chess)

Re: Sony: Please Be Nice to 3D Glasses, Nintendo

Oregano

@skywake: It's the same guy that said that that's saying they should work together now.(EDIT: It appears I was wrong actually, it was Hirai who said that).

Oh btw, I was being sarcastic above. My point is that Sony would benefit from Nintendo promoting 3D in general but Nintendo wouldn't. Sony's just trying to get Nintendo to sell their stuff for them.

Re: Sony: Please Be Nice to 3D Glasses, Nintendo

Oregano

Yes, they should work together for the good of the people. Now lets see how that benefits each company:

Sony: More people buy their cameras, TVs, console, movies and eventually their 3D handheld. Oh not to mention those 3D glasses that cost $150 a pop.

Nintendo: Umm.... the 3DS might be considered a little bit cooler?

Re: Tales of Bearsworth Manor Additional Content

Oregano

Yer Corbie I don't get the complaints about the DLC either, apart from the fact that they don't dare try to pull it on PSN and XBL, as most of it is purely optional, cosmetic changes and even without DLC their games have been some of the most content packed, and longest, games on Wiiware.

Re: 3DS Powered by Pica200 GPU

Oregano

@SoulSilver That doesn't mean they go with the lowest thing though, look at the Gamecube for example and if they can afford the higher ones then they'll go with that. The 2008 chip should be mass production and relatively cheap and Nintendo using it would help greatly as well and considering the potential userbase for the 3DS and how valuable that would be to DMP Nintendo are likely getting really good deals on whatever GPU they go for.

Re: 3DS Powered by Pica200 GPU

Oregano

Actually it seems what I was saying was wrong, we're not wuite sure what level the GPU is at and these details are for the initial 2006 model, in 2008 they were advertising 40 million polygons per second so it's entirely possible the 3DS is more powerful than initially thought.

Re: Review: Hero of Sparta (DSiWare)

Oregano

So it seems the only worthwhile Gameloft games are the Racers?

Although Castle of Magic was okay... for a fiver.

I was tempted to get Ferrari GT today but I'm holding out for Drift Street International and enjoying AiRace instead.
