@HiroshiYamauchi Actually, the game is emulated just fine on the Wii U (the original game running on an NES was susceptible to slowdown and had a strange, discolored column at the very left side of the screen). Slowdown is attributed to the fact that it pushes the processor of the NES to its limit, having been made late in the NES's lifetime. Though, I wouldn't know if the PAL version suffers from any other problems than the NTSC version.

Huh. I'm surprised The Walking Dead was the overall winner. Excellent game, but I didn't think it was going to get that much recognition. Shame Pokemon wasn't nominated for a portable category.

I don't believe achievements distract from a game so much as Gamerscore does. Sakurai's games had a great way of including achievements that were actually relevant by unlocking actual content. (Kirby Air Ride, Brawl and Kid Icarus Uprising).

On a different note, I see there's been another reviewer taking a potshot at old Pokemon having their original cry. What would you want them changed to? Granted that Pokemon Stadium experimented with updating the cries, but it seems to me that Nintendo are treating the Game Boy cries as part of Game Boy Pokemon's identities, and I quite like that.

720p is fine for NSMB. I think higher profile 1st party games like a 3D Mario, Zelda, Smash etc. are where anything lower than 1080p would be disappointing.

Pricing might be a problem outside of the States, but with the download being the same price as retail west of the Atlantic, I took download.

Honestly, I don't know why having a cartridge a case and a manual matters (it's not like I'm ever going to need to read a Mario manual). Just wasted space and material in my eyes.

And with a decent SD card, say 4 GB and up (which are dirt cheap nowadays) a space issue is nonexistent.

Same here JumpMad. Namco's characters wouldn't really mesh well with Nintendo characters. Aside from Pac Man, they're not ....iconic(?) enough. I can deal with some Wakka Wakka in Smash, but nothing more than that. UNLESS they cameo as assist trophies. That would be fine.
