Not only do we finally get another Animal Crossing soundtrack, but they once again nailed it with choosing nostalgic soundtracks. Couldn't stop playing this game a dozen years back. 🤍.
Awfully generous of them; considering the free update is more stacked in qualities and amenities.
We practically get up to 126 acres maximum of extra island space in the form of three online dream islands that, this time, we can actually play co-op on similar to our main island; classic games are back and improvised under the NSO service; and we even get some additional Islanders, only more temporarily out of our hands.
And evidently, we won't be getting a new Animal Crossing game in these upcoming years, given this announcement, but these are a few ideas of my own:
One: a friendship system with both residential and visiting non-resident islanders. This would help promote more frequent visits from non-resident villagers and ensure alongside additional activities with resident villagers, including virtual conversations, features, and activities on our in-game phones.
Two: a wide selection of jobs, just so we can earn bells more naturally.
Three: the return of lost villagers from older games. At least I miss a few of them.
Four: what if we were able to make interior caverns using the stacked cliffs? It would make for unique island crafting, decorating, and exploring.
@Robot99 Besides those, I mean; they indeed have done so many remixes of the same old tunes, as per usual, yet there's always the extras to enjoy. Not to mention; the minigame selection. Couldn't stop playing those minigames as a younger youngster.
No joke; I literally recommended / predicted this somewhere else, specifically as a celebration of the NES' 42nd Anniversary (specifically from the JP standpoint; which is exactly why they did this); and it actually went through. As a retro gamer from the 2000's; I love this. It's actually a positive they did all of these at once, so we can shift more of a focus towards singular releases with nearly similar song quantities as this combined.
Here's hoping for another Animal Crossing album somewhere down the line.
P.S. In spite of recommending / predicting these, the second NES Zelda and Punch-Out!! didn't make it. There's always another tomorrow. 😄.
I get that this is the enhanced edition of the original, but we had Link's Awakening; Age of Calamity; Majora's Mask; or an out of the blue Twilight Princess. Should have been with the additional bunch in either its launch in October or when they originally split ports from their original.
It doesn't change how it is a timeless gaming selection of music, yet Nintendo, please; Ninten-don't do this again.
After taking a lengthy listen; I will say, in spite the subtracted tracks, I love these renditions more than the original. It makes it feel complete.
@Nintendo_Thumb Getting to this now, rather true, yet referring to the music library, there is no doubt they will have dozens to hundreds of their own games within the next decade compared to their already established hundreds, so it wouldn't exactly hurt to, about once per month, stack the deck up some more. I'm not exactly talking 12+ a month, yet a random mix of six to eight albums per month (in-between six-dozen to eighty a year), with plentiful and minimal soundtracks alike, sounds as a fair balance.
Another series I haven't exactly tried; yet the arcade music is as well another delight. Speaking of arcade music, just my opinion; arcade music releases (specifically soundtracks with roughly a dozen or so tracks in each) could consistently an use extra album or two in a mere release, like for example; the DK arcade games + Mario Bros.; being a sum of five titles with less than 50 tracks. They did this with the puzzle games, but yet again, one album a week on a majority will take at least a decade and a half for a complete set.
Edit: Ah, and after much passed time; now is rather fitting for a wishlist:
No matter the unit, anything Mario related; mainline or not.
Arcade:
DK 1 - Math (4 games) (NES)
DK Land trilogy (GB)
Earthbound (SNES)
N64:
DK64
Kirby Crystal Shards
Majora's Mask
GBC / GBA:
DKC (GBC) + DKC GBA trilogy
DK King of Swing
GCN:
F-Zero GX
Pikmin (1 & 2)
Metroid Prime 2
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Animal Crossing
DS:
Yoshi's Island DS
DK Jungle Climber
Wii + Wii U:
DKCR + DKCTF
Metroid Prime III
Nintendo Land
NS:
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo-exclusive music)
... And console music; ranging from intros; main menu music; system settings; and more. Yes; I am a die-hard Mario & DK fan, yet while I do enjoy other unlisted series, these are just a personal most wanted. What are yours?
It's been a minute, yet this app has enhanced quite a bit with enjoyable soundtracks (IMO), even with these mere dozen tracks. Always loved the underground / dungeon tune.
1. MAYBE - just maybe - there is a reason why the quantity has gotten lower from all of these past few eeks: we know full well that they are capable of doing nearly 40 tracks in one mere week, yet summing up the math, given how some features (like at least the extend-to feature) are manually inserted; this is the part where perhaps, since Thanksgiving is this week (or if holidays do not count; next Monday), they may as well have been working on a bigger album, like Splatoon 2; any lengthy Zelda game; the rest of the classic console music ranging from the GB all the way to the Wii U; ... or Kid Icarus from the NES (which has a lower quantity). No matter, at least 52 albums in a calendar year is still quite plentiful.
2. The NDS was a part of both my and hundred-million other childhoods, so even a mere fourteen DS tracks is nostalgic (at least to I), even if it is a game that both myself and many others have never played. I'm not judging a book by its cover, though.
Edit: After giving it a listen, first off, even with six lower tracks, it nears the same time as last week's F-Zero X, so timewise, do not judge. Speaking of; the music in this OST fittingly sounds like something you just want to have some chill time and study up with... and (at least) I love it! To add, they did DKC2 in the first week of this month, right? True, because the rewards program has the monthly update where the first game of that particular trilogy was displayed in the first week of October, so what this means for the first week of December next week... I think that I can affirm that DKC3 is next Monday, given that flow. If I'm wrong, this was just a random prediction.
@garfreek I know I just made a lengthy comment about logics, yet keeping this one short(er) and sweet; I do concur with this, as well. It does not exactly matter which route is taken, the best-case scenario, fundamentally; is that this is happening. At least my big concern with this service is hoping it does not all willfully go to waste. Nintendo is not always Nintendo; yet it is still Nintendo.
@Dev1024 I concur, especially for these three primary reasons:
1. Nintendo has both developed and published 700+ games, and given how it is just one a week, as well with potential holiday surprises; simply converting 700+ games into 700+ weeks, that is at least a very long thirteen years from releasing every single soundtrack they have to offer.
2. Many here can agree or disagree / agree-to-disagree, yet it is pretty evident that the "extend to" feature is not inserted remotely, like per AI; rather yet manually adjusted, and this, I believe, is a very significant factor to holding off multiple releases at once, yet I have to ask; exactly what is the point of the feature to begin with? It is practically the exact same as the repeat feature that has a more-so similar purpose than it does different. A tempo feature that works on literally any / every track would make more sense, which would also be a first for even a music platform, if I'm not mistaken.
3. Logically, you are accurate, yet in spite of the manually adjusted "extend to" feature; if they have time to insert at least 100+ tracks in one album (like they are set to do with both of the other currently listed L.O.Z games), they easily would make time for even three retro soundtracks (like F-Zero X; SM64; & DKC3) in one sitting. I get that the older soundtracks most definitely also need readjusted mastering compared to the more modern and lengthier in track quantity soundtracks, yet someone had to say it. Speaking of, depending on how long it took them to install the first 23 (+1) albums that contained approximately 2,299 tunes, if they did all of that in at best per-se two-or-so months; they can easily do a few albums with up to a song quantity of 200 or so songs in one mere week. It is much appreciated that this idea is (finally) happening; yet marketing-strategy wise, if they want more customers to get engaged, they likely will not even wait at least 13 long years. My biggest recommendation to them is to remove the "extend to" feature, not just given its similarity; yet also for the marketing-strategy logic. Edit: Or, if they are going to simply keep that feature within the service, then they can just add at best that lengthy number of tunes in one week without inserting the feature into any of them, and as the week progresses, they can simply insert them in the most fitting tunes, whichever works.
So, it is safe to say that, unless holiday surprises count (like Thanksgiving within next week, as well on Halloween with Super Mario Bros. Wonder); every Monday at 8:00 (20:00) PM. Also, I do not mean to complain; yet today would actually have been perfect for DKC3's soundtrack, given how approximately 28 years ago, the game itself originally released on Nov. 18th (1996). I'm not complaining, though.
Also, mathematically, that counts for at least 52 new albums (game soundtracks) for each of the next bunch of years.
Edit: I've never paid much attention to the F-Zero series, not enough to prefer it as my type; BUT after giving all 20 tracks a listen; the soundtrack... has many absolute bangers that most definitely belong in a workout playlist to get oneself amped up. Give it a listen whenever a chance.
It’s their house now! Congratulations! ... Bowser Jr, you silly thing! Don’t you go Scar on the king! I wonder what is upon us for the future of Nintendo!

Re: Nintendo On Why The Mario Kart World Album Isn't Available For Nintendo Music
One - a whole year already? It won't be long until it's three years.
Two - the soundtrack will find its way to the app eventually.
... Three - a little chat activity: one soundtrack; one console; one different series for each console (and one choice of secondaries / alternates):
NES: Punch-Out!! (alt.: Duck Hunt)
GB(C): Wario Land (I) (alt.: Donkey Kong Land trilogy)
SNES: Earthbound (alt.: Kirby Superstar)
N64: Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (alt.: Super Smash Bros. 64)
Gameboy Advance: Metroid Fusion (alt.: Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire)
GameCube: Super Smash Bros. Melee (alt.: Super Mario Sunshine)
DS: Donkey Kong Jungle Climber (alt: Yoshi's Island DS)
Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles (alt.: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)
3DS: Animal Crossing New Leaf (alt.: Nintendo 3DS (+ DS) system music)
Wii U: Nintendo Land (alt.: Pikmin 3)
Nintendo Switch: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (alt.: Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
Nintendo Switch 2: Pokemon Legends: Z-A (alt.: I technically get to cheat this one - DK Bananza)

@Dev-N
1: Staff Credits
2: World 6
3: Underwater Theme
4: Minigames: Main Menu
5: Mario VS. Luigi - Stage BGM 2
... And I love how more compressed plenty of them sound, especially the castle's Boss Battle one. Definitely sounds redone.
Re: Nintendo Updates Its Music App With Another DS Soundtrack
@Robot99 @N00BiSH If there's one thing I appreciate, it's a sense of humor.
... But the other two do have some decent original selects of their own, besides the usual copies and pastings / remixes. Just a matter of time.

I may not have been a 90's kid; but I did get this game a decade ago as a part of my arcade collection. A banger then; still one now.
Now, to boot up the title screen music and WELCOME TO MA... AWWW; COME ON! Insert "Finish (5th - 8th Place)" music.
