Just a heads up for those who still don’t have an upgraded shop, the requirements listed in this article aren’t 100% accurate. I got notified on my 33rd active day that the shop would be upgrading. It has just reopened today (the 35th active day)
It’s likely 30 days after you first built the shop, along with some spending and selling involved.
Basically, if you got the game at launch, you should be getting the shop upgrade very soon.
Just another FYI, I have all villager spots filled and my house was on the second to last upgrade when I was notified (Not sure any of this matters, but detail is detail.)
The thought process of some people is kinda bizarre. In order to play ONLINE you need to connect to the internet anyway, which will download the patch automatically.
How this makes physical worthless is beyond me. Surely digital is more worthless, since if/when the eShop closes up shop, there’ll be no way to access the game if you don’t already have it installed on the SD card.
Patches are a good thing, regardless of what people say. If a publisher rushes out a game, only to fix it later with patches, that’s when things become terrible.
However, if it’s just to fix some minor issues/balancing post-production, I really don’t see any negatives. But hey, I’m thinking about now, not 30 years into the future.
Oh no, I can see a tiny little bit of a nipple. Something all human beings have. I am greatly and deeply offended. Nintendo should feel awful for allowing this kind of disgusting content on the eShop.
(Sarcasm btw.)
People need to get over themselves. This image here just shows a tiny bit of nipple. Nothing sexual about that. We all have them, guys.
@SmaggTheSmug The reason behind newer versions of Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac having different soundtracks is much bigger than just that. Yeah, it’s a copyright dispute, but for reasons unknown, Danny Baranowsky said that he doesn’t want Ed to use his soundtracks in any future works.
I think the two of them had a falling out/disagreement on something, which is pretty sad because DannyB makes some great music and they were a good pair.
Monster Hunter World has longer loading times than Generations Ultimate. There’s less loading overall in Gen Ultimate, when compared to World on PS4/Xbox One (even the Pro/XB1X)
So, did you play World on PC? If so, that makes sense, but you act as if you played it a while ago and World only just released on PC somewhat recently.
Also, there’s some inaccuracies in this too. You talk about Generations Ultimate as if it’s a new game, developed after World. This game was released almost a year before World on 3DS in Japan. Got ported to Switch towards the end of last year and now it’s finally localised.
I agree that Generations Ultimate is the better game, heck, I even played the Japanese version as well and I’m still enjoying the localised version. There’s just a couple of things that could be misintrepeted in this article.
@mtness Yeah, honestly if World was your first Monster Hunter game, it’s gonna be hard going back to Gen Ultimate.
As a long term fan of the series though, who played the Japanese version before World came out, I definitely think there’s some things that Gen U does better.
There’s just a few things about World that don’t sit right with me. Mostly issues that affect me and possibly some other veterans.
For the most part, World is a perfect game, it’s just clouded by a slew of bad design choices that kind of take away from all the GOOD design choices.
Again, if it’s your first game, I think it’s a perfect place to start. I can only hope Capcom improves on the new formula and changes some of the mechanics that annoy me.
EDIT: Also, I played World on PS4, so the loading in that version actually pissed me off, whereas loading between areas/zones is instant.
Quests would just take far too long to load in World on PS4, even on the Pro. I’ve seen how instant it is on the PC and I’d like to pick up that version at some point.
@mtness Monster Hunter Generations ULTIMATE is not a 3 year old game. It's the expanded version of Generations, sure, but the content in Generations pales in comparison to Generations Ultimate. There's more than enough content to justify the asking price, even if you played Generations.
The content in Monster Hunter World also pales in comparison to Generations Ultimate. I think GU is the better game, personally. (I played the Japanese version)
EDIT: Yikes, almost $100AUD for a game. I don't know much about the Australian economy, but that sounds pretty expensive.
@RailX Axiom is great, as is Xeodrifter. I think the main issues for me with Hollow Knight is that the map’s too big, most of the areas look the same so it’s easy to get lost and it’s just a slog to actually traverse the overworld.
Dead Cells is just incredible, honestly. I can’t say I’ve had any performance issues either. Nothing major at least. But yeah, I’ve been loving that so far, even if I’ve only got to the boss after the Clocktower. It’s just addictive.
@RailX @Fake-E-Lee Let me just clarify, I LOVE Metroidvanias, but Hollow Knight just frustrates the hell out of me. Dying in the game feels awful, because if the last bench you sat down at was far away, you have to go ALLLLLL the way back to pick up your Geos. I played the game for around 10-15 hours or so and had people give me advice in chat (I was streaming it)
Even though I had all that though, it still frustrated me beyond everything. I think the game is fantastic, music is beautiful and the art style is great, but I just can’t bring myself to play it.
Dead Cells, on the other hand. I’ve gotten to the boss after the clock tower and I’ve died quite a few times already, but do I care? No. I really can’t explain how roguelites are so much fun, but Dead Cells is an AMAZING game. Not to say Hollow Knight isn’t. It just feels like Dead Cells resonates with me more.
Also, on the talks of Metroidvanias, I think Axiom Verge was absolutely incredible.
@maruse Should’ve specified. I had no idea that was even coming to Switch. Was it officially announced? Maybe it was and I forgot about it? But I really don’t remember ever hearing about it.
“Nintendo Clamps Down On Risqué Imagery By Censoring Taisen Hot Gimmick Switch Port”
Title implies that they’ve censored the game, but you clearly state in the article that it’s just the image on the eShop that’s been changed to a more tame image, whilst the game itself retains the content.
Clickbait headlines are running rampant on this website. Sort it out guys.
@Lord Video capture is definitely availble in Double Cross! It was added in a patch. If you own the full version of the Japanese game, give it a shot, you'll see.
You're right that it wasn't a thing immediately though, but it's been in there for a fair few months now.
Nice! Super glad this is happening. Been tempted to pick it up on Steam for a while, glad I waited! I honestly love the Switch, it’s such a fantastic console.
Does this include the Twitch integration like the Steam version has? Wouldn’t mind double dipping if it does. This game’s a lot of fun, I need to play more of it though.
Chat can be really cruel if you have the Twitch integration turned on, but it also makes things a lot more interesting.

Re: There's No Need To Be Afraid Of This Day One Update For Luigi's Mansion 3
@B-Locks 100% agree. I can kinda understand with PS4 and Xbox One games though, because you have to install the entire game on the system anyway.
But even then you can still share the game with friends/family.

Re: Sorry Folks, Mortal Kombat 11's Online Stress Test Is Skipping Switch
@Zach777 I rarely ever get lag in Smash, almost never get disconnected in Splatoon 2.
Sounds to me like you need a word with your ISP.
