Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Scan Logbook Locations, Including All Missable Scans

MrPerson0

Hey, this is a great list! I think you should add Glister Beetle to the list of missable scans. From what I can see, it's in a single room in the game (that you list), and after a certain point, it disappears due to Grievers taking over. I could be wrong, and it might be in another room, but I haven't been able to find it.

Edit: Apparently it's not missable, and it can be found in the same room where Fury Greens' Scout Bot is!

@tourjeff If a license is taken away, do you have proof that people were not able to redownload a game if you have purchased it? For example, Super Mario 3D All-Stars is no longer available on the eShop, but if you downloaded it before it was taken down, you can redownload it at any time. Even with your example of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, even after it was delisted, people who purchased it before were still able to redownload it since it was in their history.

@Metazoxan The other thing is, people need to realize that GKCs weren't a thing, would third party developers be more inclined to put their entire game on the cart? No, the only option for them would be digital only, and people would still be complaining.

People need to realize that the GKC is a choice for third party companies because they want to make as much of a profit as possible. It's not Nintendo's fault for providing this as an option, it the publisher's fault for choosing it.

@Kingy Because the Wii shop, so far, has been up and running for nearly 20 years. People are, as usual, overreacting about digital stores shutting down. Sure, they can shut down in a few years or 20 years from now, but the fact that the stores are still up means that we won't have to worry about GKCs, which rely on the Switch 2 store, being defunct for a very long time.

Re: Mario Golf: Super Rush's Split-Screen Will Be Restricted To Two Players Per Switch

MrPerson0

@zool It's pretty clear that you didn't read the article then:

"The Japanese site is a little more clear, however, noting that up to four players can play on one console by taking turns and passing the controller around, but any split-screen situation will be limited to just two people."

Taking turns and passing the controller around (latter is optional) is in line with how previous Mario Golf titles have worked. Split-screen is an entirely new feature to Mario Golf.

Re: Mario Golf: Super Rush's Split-Screen Will Be Restricted To Two Players Per Switch

MrPerson0

@zool Except you're the one who both misread the article and don't realize how previous titles worked. Mario Golf always had four player gameplay on the same console through alternate play, and this game is keeping that. So you saying this game is more single player focused even though four people can play on the same console as before does sound trollish.

Allowing people to play at the same time (simultaneous and speed golf) is a new feature that isn't used in golf normally, and the reason why it's limited to two per console is understandable. Splitting the UI into four smaller screens would be a nightmare.

Re: Mario Golf: Super Rush's Split-Screen Will Be Restricted To Two Players Per Switch

MrPerson0

@Poodlestargenerica In Mario Golf 64 and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, you could play multiplayer by either sharing the same controller or using multiple controllers doing alternate play.

Also, this article kind of has it wrong. It hasn't actually been confirmed if people can use one controller for alternate play multiplayer in this game. The Japanese site just mentioned that four people can play on a single console using alternate play, nothing about it allowing a single controller for that.

Re: Mario Golf: Super Rush's Split-Screen Will Be Restricted To Two Players Per Switch

MrPerson0

@CactusMan Pretty sure there are some Switch games with a LAN feature already, such as Mario Kart and Mario Tennis. Doesn't change the fact that there can only be two people per console in that mode.

I would be surprised if Mario Golf doesn't have it.

Also, two players simultaneously or Speed Golf makes sense. There are already people complaining about the UI being pretty small, and that would be even worse if it's split up into four smaller screens.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

MrPerson0

@IceClimbers @roadrunner343 @CaPPa Seeing that many of these models are literally the same and they didn't even bother changing the main court (Marina Stadium) from its Ultra Smash counterpart, YES, this game is an enhanced port. No matter how much you try to defend it, it is what it is, especially since ports have been very common with the Nintendo Switch. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, for example, is not a port due to the amount of changes they made to character models and whatnot.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

MrPerson0

@GoldenGamer88 Uhh, this game IS a port of Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. The models and animations are reused. Your comparison between Power Tennis and 64 is pretty dumb since Power Tennis was built from the ground up.
