Liberation Maiden for me! Just roared through it, and I was not at all dissapointed. Except maybe the fact that it ended at the worst possible point. Oh well, I'm sure I'm going to be getting way more than my $8 worth out of it given how immensely replayable it's proven itself so far. Hokkaido, prepare for purification!
Just give me Riviera: The Promised Land and Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone (especially YU since my cart's finally starting to kick the bucket. Played the hell out of that one). There's a few other lesser-known titles I'd enjoy seeing, like Dark Arena and Megaman & Bass.
@Chrno-x Unfortunately, it's not the high-speed future racing game we'd all like, instead it's a probably lousy take on the TV show 'Wipeout' where people get balls thrown at them. Trust me, I'd like nothing more than to have Wip3ouT on Wii U, but there's pretty much no hope of that.
I'm sorry, when my current time sink is a port of an iOS game to PC, I think I can safely say that real gaming exists on iOS. The game is a spiritual successor to Freelancer, essentially a starfighter simulator. Already sank over 20 hours into the iOS version, and sunk another 12 hours into the full HD PC version a few days after I got it. Galaxy on Fire 2 consumes my life.
I stopped giving a crap about the eShop when I realized my local store still stocks a ton of old DS titles. Playing through MechAssault: Phantom War, Radiant Historia (FANTASTIC game, that), and SMT: Devil Survivor.
I'd pick up the Gunslinger Pack on Wii instead of this one. Mad Dog McCree as well as it's two sequels, and spot-on reproduction of light-gun gameplay. Say what you will about Laserdisc/Interactive Movies, but they have a very special role in the development of gaming as we know it today.
Nothing for me this week, though McCree is tempting (Shut up, I have a soft spot for FMV games) and I'd grab X2 if I had a Wii on me. Still waiting on the DKJR update, not like I'll bother much with it anyway though.
You know what I'D love to see? Some of the creative power ups and mechanics from the 3D games (64/Sunshine/Galaxy) brought into the 2D plane! FLUDD with swappable nozzles? The ice flower? The metal box? Make the game EARN that 'new' moniker by blending classic stuff with more recent techniques!
Here in Canada, I found like 6 used copies of Tom Clancy's EndWar on the DS going for $2 at an EBGames. It's a generic strategy game, but it's functional enough, and for two dollars it's definitely worth a purchase.
Not hugely surprising. I figured it's launch late in the DS' lifespan plus a large book requiring translation and printing would sink our hopes of seeing this game in America.
On the note of DS games being ported to iOS, go play Phoenix Wright on the system. It works bu it's nowhere near as elegant. I can't even fathom how hard it is to play Ghost Trick (only in Japan ATM) on an iPhone.
Has Australia even seen ANY Nobunaga's Ambition games released? Pokemon Conquest is more generic-sounding, to be sure, but I dunno. Seems like a gamble they're taking. Mark my words, Pokemon will be in much bigger type than Nobunaga's Ambition.
@thedanman64 Let me guess, you bought the 3DS for those things called "games" I've heard so much about. Seems like a gimmicky addon to such a great camera.
Dragon Crystal is going to be a day-one for me. Not a big fan of Sonic Drift 2, it really shows desperation when you need to put a character whose selling point is speed in an automobile to race. Might grab Shinobi depending on the reviews.
Metroid's got the restore point features. Sure as hell beats the passcode system unless you REALLY want to use "Justin Bailey" again. Also, the sound effect on the 3DS menu is a Mario 'coin' noise, just like Super Mario Bros. I guess that's the sound for an NES title, but to be honest it would be way better to have a sound from the game emulated, i.e. a short clip of the title theme for Metroid, the 'kill enemy' sound effect for Balloon Fight, etc.
@ejamer Also, it appears the Updates section doesn't work for older updates (like the updates that appeared two weeks ago for the NES titles), still it's good to see the section finally having a purpose. Hopefully the 'Add-On Content' section of the 3DS Storage Settings section will soon as well. Just in the middle of scouring my downloaded titles list for updates. Also, I wonder if an update to Dillon's Rolling Western to utilize the Circle Pad Pro for those lefties having trouble with the game is on the way? Wishful thinking, perhaps.
Also, where's our Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure demo?
Can't say I'm too surprised. As a retail release it could have gotten through, but on a download service no doubt riddled with dumb kids and their parents, this could easily have ignited a media firestorm. Would I have liked to see it? Sure. I think Super Meat Boy definately has a better shot at arriving, since it's nowhere near as religiously charged. And since Team Meat's already 're-imagining' the game for mobile devices, it's not too much of a stretch to hope for a port.
I could really see this controller being used for simulation titles, especially if there was a third party controller that replaced one of the circle pads with a PC-style joystick (probably the right one) complete with buttons on the stick and all. That would make for quite an impressive show of tech: A fully-fledged simulation title... on a console! Shows off the power of the system, Nintendo's dedication to hardcore gamers, and potentially even win over some of the PC crowd. Use the touch screen to emulate multiple buttons (hopefully it will function with a finger just as well as the stylus). Imagine playing Flight Simulator or MechWarrior on something like that!
That is indeed shameless. As a budget title I might consider picking up, but then again the Layton series' gameplay hasn't enthralled me. I play them for the story almost exclusively.
So far Rolling Western's been real good. I think the real sticking point for everyone's going to be the controls. I love 'em, it gives a satisfying tactile edge to combat, but then again I loved Metroid Prime Hunters' controls as well. I would have preferred more control over your towers (where they aim, etc.), and the game is a touch overpriced. I really hope Dillon gets his own franchise, because the game and characters ooze classic Nintendo charm.
Crap. For a budget title I was looking forward to this. Never did get to play the sequels but loved the original back in elementary, still play it once in a while.
I love how the Japanese can fit so much into their Streetpass messages, while mine can only fit one word. A long word, yes, but a single word nevertheless. That scene made the whole trailer for me.
I like the idea of 'featured' games, but not at the expense of having simple categories so that I can find stuff I actually want. Why not give users the option of increasing the number of tiles per page, y'know, like the main menu of the 3DS? That would make it a lot more feasible to have more categories and whatnot.
Way too much coming out for me to bother with Revelaitons. Still trying to get through the last 5 used games I picked up. MechAssault: Phantom War is leering at me to get back and finish it.
Depends on how much it costs. This will be my first KH game if it gets good reviews, I've been considering leaping into the series but average reviews of both 358/2 and re:coded have put me off until now.
@Gstewart It's always good to see the developers paying attention to their reviews, and while I have yet to play a single WiiWare title (and a 2/10 review isn't inclining me to get this one, plus the fact that I'm not one for physics puzzlers), I'll keep an eye out for whatever you guys make next, since you clearly have some great ideas up your sleeves.

No! Don't even TALK about Tails Doll. Let that cursed figure die out in obscurity.
Re: Movie Review: Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva
Probably the single best video game movie currently out. Yes, even better than Ace Attorney, though that one's a close second.

That's actually quite a good score for a hunting game. Neat.
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd August 2012 (North America)
Will probably pick up VectorRacing, but since The Last Story just shipped, I'm holding off on anything else.
Re: Feature: The Best Soundtracks on Wii
Yeah, can't believe I forgot about Fragile Dreams. Beautiful soundtrack there. The Last Story also has a fantastic score.

Baroque. Damn serious.

I'll download the update, but I still couldn't give a wet fart about Swapnote.

Dammnit, ANOTHER game I'll need to buy come June. Heroes of Ruin, Rhythm Thief, and now Pokemon Conquest? Gah, guess I better start saving, then.
