SEGA's stylish Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure is out next week in Europe, but 3DS owners in North America have to wait another three months to get their groove on.
The official SEGA blog confirmed the new release date for the game as 10th July. The publisher didn't give any explanation for the delay.
Look for our review in the next week or so.

I'm changing my mind about this. The gameplay and cutscenes look top notch. I'll move it near the top of my list so long as the reviews are good. But what I would really like to see is a 1st person shooter. You know, the #1 most popular gaming genre in America? I didn't just make that up, I saw it in a Game Informer poll.
I'll take any 1st-person shooter. Conduit. Metroid Prime Hunters. Call of Duty. HALO. Anything.
Am I the only one who thinks its incredibly weird that there hasn't been a single word or rumor about a new 3DS 3rd-person or 1st-person action game since the circle pad pro came out?? The only reason for the circle pad pro is to enhance 3rd person and 1st person action games. Yet, not a single one announced. Methinks a redesigned 3DS w/ dual sticks is guaranteed at E3 this year, and a couple 1st person shooter announcements to go w/ it.
@shinobi88 A redesign after one year for games, like you said, haven't even been announced sounds very unlikely to me. Especially because their main focus would certainly be on the Wii U. And I would believe that most FPS fans will choose Vita anyway.
And how can it be a delay, when I don't remember them ever giving a release date for North America?
They'll probably just waiting for people to finish Kid Icarus
i still think this is one of the most interesting titles on the 3DS. definitely different to all the other games released. good news for us in europe where it is out next week, but not so good for those in north america.
I didn't think this game was for me either - but I've played the demo so many times that I've been converted. Though I'm going to have to wait a while before I get it, it wouldn't get a look in while I'm still enjoying Kid Icarus.
@shinobi88 Isn't Kid Icarus, Resident Evil: Revelations or Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater count as FPS for you?
Certainly Kid Icarus is giving me enough flick reaction FPS game playing, particularly the multiplayer which is a lot of fun.
@cammy None of those games are first-person, at least not the whole time, and while I don't particularly care about that genre it would work great in 3D.
I want Theatrhythm Final Fantasy over this.
@tat2 - The only FPS title I ever played was 3rd Birthday. I liked it but I'd take JRPGs over FPS any day.
This game looks awesome and I'm hoping to get it for my birthday which is on the 11th.
@tat2: Funny you should say that, considering that SEGA has pushed back other games as well in America....for who knows what reasons...
I'm starting to hate Sega. I want this right now. I don't want to wait until July.
Egh, well. I guess I'll just forget about buying this game for now. The game looks nice, but I'm not gonna wait three months for it to get here, and I'm not sure if it's even worth it. Maybe after the demo I'll change my mind, but for now there are too many games out that I want to get, and Rhythm Thief just dropped down on that list.
Man, I was looking forward to picking this up next month.
ONORE SEGA. Well, at least we're getting it... Theatrhythm will win over this if they both come out at the same time though.
The picture says it all: Caramba!
@tat2
You almost seem happy to see that the game was delayed for North America. I downloaded the Mutants Mudd demo and I actually feel sad that the game has not been announced for Europe yet. I cannot see how a delay can serve anyone right.
I will check the european reviews to make up my mind for the time the game arrives. Haven't even ordered Kid Icarus and Revelaitons is still unopened (and Solatorobo too) so I don't mind waiting.
Concerning the game, I still don't know if I'll get it. I have to try out the demo first. At least I really enjoyed Crush3d on the basis of its demo.
Oh, FFS. AGAIN? Seriously, these repeated delays of this game are getting annoying.
Guys, the Europe vs. America portion of this thread is not pertinent to the discussion at all. Let's not make this into a continent war, shall we? :3
sadface But honestly one of the reasons I picked Kid Icarus up is I saw there wasn't anything I was really into coming out in cartridge form for several months. Though this may be part of their plan.
It'll get here eventually, and I can wait.
loved the demo, hope this one sells well!
