I don't get the lack of VC releases...they could easily update it with C64 games alone! Not that I like those games mind but at least it would be something.

Not bad on the Wares front but not exactly good either.

It is strange that a European based company is giving out free points to the US and not in it's native Europe.

Better shaders = better looking graphics. Just goes to show you that sometimes, graphical power is not enough when you can make something look better by just adding a little smoothness in the shading.

I think I heard this rumour when the SP was due to launch...but I heard that the "extra" feature was something less impressive.

I wonder why SEGA aren't publishing this?

My guess is; Japan in late October/early November, Europe/PAL in late November/late December, Americas late January/early February.

Would be nice if they all had the same date though.

I know of this info and I am excited if it's true but it's quite sad to not see this up as to SEGA anyway, it could be just "rumour and speculation".

I'm happy for this girl but that is too much even by collecter standards.

I know she's disabled but if she's happy with her collection and people are treating her as if she's still a normal person then I am very happy for her.

Aye, it is. I will complete it one day since I've almost finished every other main FF title (3 really frustrated me as it took an entire hour to reach the final boss without saving. I would have completed 7 but the last (not final) battle with Sephiroph used Supernova when I wasn't prepared and I used that save item in an awkward place.)

Anyway, it's good enough as a PS1 remake anyway.

Awesome skills. This could be achieved on the DS and that was too easy for those skills. I bet this will be an awesome challenge for the hardcores .

I'm agreeing with PhoenixSage. Pink is as close as you can get for a red remote. I get the feeling that making gender toned Wiimotes is alittle bit creepy in this case. Still, it's an option I guess

The choice of black reminds me of chess for some reason. Would be funny if somebody both bought the black and white variations of the accessories and played chess with them.

On topic it looks nice enough (even if it means being mismatched with the millions of white Wiis out there) but I'm wondering when Red is available? 2012 perhaps?

@Ren: they also had the Pikachu variations of N64's (from what I remember) in Blue and yellow along with the Game Boys...pretty sweet if you own/owned both since they must be collecters items by now.

Final Fantasy is a good game at it's core but I couldn't possibly play the NES version unfortunately. I guess I'm lazy, lol. I am more put off by the battle dialogue and borders rather then the graphics. A score of 7 is a good move, imo

This could be just like the Smash Bros hype about 2 years ago. I haven't really played the Dreamcast or Saturn (although I like to take interest), I have heard Shemnue is an excellent game on the Dreamcast and can only be happy for the fans. It's just like the Sonic announcement of Smash Bros too which has made many people happy.

I am looking forward to this game but the charcaters/music/themes I want the most is the classic Streets of Rage. Imagine having a course that ranges from the tough streets to the factory of stage 6? It's a pity it can't be because back then it was deemed abit of a "mature" title despite there being no gore in the game compared to HotD.

Still excited for it though by all means. Also (@ Bass XO: Me too. This'll be great for it!

@RadioShadow: We think alike my friend . The Police Car is a must but it has to be the original gang in the car and their All-Star move has to be to bomb their rivals with the mortors.

I love Final Fantasy an all but it's extremely dated in comparison to the remakes. Also Europe would get the American version at 600 points instead since we didn't get it. This'll be in Europe when the next Hanabi Festival comes.

The obviously replayed The Lost Levels and thought "Ah! Maybe we could assist the player with this idea!" and created this. It's always good to know that you are covered...like insurance .

Doesn't anyone think the PRO is just the original with two grips bolted on or is it just me? It's nice to have a different colour and all but it should've been necessary at day 1.

I am okay too since I updated it about a few days ago knowing what I'd have done to my white box. Then again I read somewhere that it was safe for un-modded wiis to update. Seems I was wrong but has anyone on here actually had theirs bricked?

@67: $5-10 isn't a bad price for delivery imo. Over here we get postal strikes and perhaps the greater burden of pricing more or less . Then again I can understand why people would be upset at paying for it to be delivered all the same.

Normally I see Australian release dates a day before Europe gets it so it's probably November 19th.

Although it's yet another R-Type game, at least we get another VC release out of the way.

To be honest. I didn't even know you could get online with the PS2 back then...and only just realised I could do wireless connections at the beginning of this console generation. I understand why some people won't/can't do it though. Some people believe that wireless costs more or they have to get a seperate broadband package but it's starting to become more and more mainstream now that those people now think "So it doesn't cost anymore? Wow!" This helps particularly to the 30-50 age demographics out there .

It all depends when and if people want to get online with their consoles as the guy says...people will only go on if they feel it's something they'd like to do or if something interests them so that they will use it. I'd say the Xbox made this successful by offering more then just games...like movie streaming and such. I know that if you show someone that you can rent a movie on the Xbox and offer them to pick a movie then they might just be interested in doing this, a bit of a poor example I know but everyone has their reasons why they want to get their console online. I, for one just like to play VC games on the Wii.

Some other article said that all three are being released at once? I doubt that's true but I can only hope. Either way I'll take these two VC games over nothing for a couple of weeks.

Seriously? Who knows? I seriously doubt it's Final Fantasy lol...Square Enix make those for one. I hope it's a great game. It could be a Yoshi title.

It's always interesting to see how these companies got into this type of entertainment media now and again. To think, Atari and Intellivision were (roughly) the first major forces behind this. Nintendo are the ones who truly attempted to make it mainstream...and I, for one am glad it happened .

As for Nintendo being un-family friendly, I'm sure every company has (at one point or another) made something you wouldn't expect...I was surprised by a few I have read anyhow.

Eh? No future VC list? Glad to see the WW and DsiW list all the same but a VC list would help...or are they keeping it quiet so people don't get angry?

13 WW games in October. I guess that means many people will be happy in the Autumn as well.

Cool about the original release but haven't we had enough of Street Fighter? I'm sure everyone here has at least one iteration. Either way it's a great addition .

Small sacrifices have to be made for a bigger reward imo.

I can't tell that much really but if people don't like what they see they should stick to the originals. I'm not saying you shouldn't be disappointed but look at the bigger picture. Three games in one has more benefits then getting rid of the smaller details.

Either way I hope you enjoy it with or without the effects (to fellow Europeans).

This is sad news across the whole.

First EU don't get a VC game, NA dont get SSB or Pilotwings and now even the homeland doesn't get as many games anymore (well...they still get much more then us but it is definately pacing itself now).

I will be glad if we get even a VC game nowadays . Good update anyway for you guys.

I only thought about 6 to 10 countries actually participate in Cricket, which explains why it's doing so well in England.

If it does go to America then that's fine but I at least like other countries to participate since losing to certain countries in Cricket gets repetitive (Not in a bad way mind, and I hope we beat the Aussies this time ).

Either way it's shocking to hear it's gained national interest.

It's like that about Wii/Nintendo Points cards too it seems and for awhile at that . I wouldn't be bothered but since we're in tough times they should take that into consideration. Retailers never make it easy do they?

Something that could very well work. A portable Smash Bros is something I think would be very good if done right.

It has to be said the quality will be between the original and Melee but if it stands well then I'm all for the petition. Sure, the animation is dull but if it gets the point across it should work.

@Tony: Don't jump the gun just yet. I'm hopeful that you'll get SMK first. We've had SSB, MM and now this before you guys so I think it's your turn to get the golden oldies before us. After all, you got Super Star Wars and I am super jealous. Don't lose faith my friend .

How come this will be in Argos in England on the 11th of September? It seems it'll be out much earlier then in other european territories.

I'm not complaining I'm just curious why it'll be out in one shop earlier then the rest that's all.

OMG! Head Explodes Super Star Wars was great back then and will be a fantastic addition on the VC now. This is a definate day 1 buy for me .

Tell me who was 10 when this came out on the Game Boy? I was and it was a hectic year back then Trading Cards and playing the games. Fun times indeed.

What's with the DS love lately? Looking forward to this and Kingdom Hearts as well as Golden Sun, although I never finished the second one. Same goes for Mario and Luigi: PiT.

I personally believe a price cut would be necessary because most people own/have owned a Wii and it's only fair that they now drop the RRP because they've already lasted 3 years without any changes to price. People will give up on paying this price even with new software. People will just buy the software as opposed to hardware now. I still see 2nd hand Wiis selling at £150 so to drop the price would be definately beneficial and would halt second hand game stores taking advantage of this indefinately! The price of manufactoring the Wii hasdropped significantly and it'll not dent their gross profits I personally believe.

Although I own a Wii and it's been a great little console. It hasn't had any games that I would say are "Brilliant". I'm not saying Mario or Zelda aren't great titles but like #46 says, I'd like to see new IPs being brought to the table. It's about time the Wii sales are slowing since it couldn't have possibly lasted this long?

Does After Years have a good link to FF IV or does it make it easier for newcomers to get into? Would like to know before I buy that .

Seriously, that is abit too much. If it was spreaded across more it'd have a lesser impact. Does NOA and NOE have restrictions on how many games they are allowed to release? If so, then this proves it in large amounts .

If Nintendo say that it looks better then what they are currently doing, then that's very good news to Capcom but...

1) Shouldn't you be worried if you created something only for someone else to outdo you with something better?
2) Does this mean the start of 3rd Party titles selling well since it has the gameplay and graphics to match?

I'm not bothered about graphics though. I just hope it's worth the money and time they put into it. This "should" encourage others to follow.

I'm sure FF V was translated by the fans and was the first to do so. If they offered the guys who did that some money then it'd be released over her but I doubt that.

FF IV is pretty dated compared to the GBA version though. They still go for £35 I believe...I sold mine for £20 . Still, lucky Japan I guess...

Typical this was going to be. Bass is right, normally the VC takes a break after a Hanabi Festival (I fail to see a reason why).

@Bass - I fail to remember the weeks we've missed but Australia have missed 3/4 more because of us getting a C64 game at least in one of our updates (I think it was the WiiWare one). They've also missed one game a couple of times (Only Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition comes to mind). If it had to be a guess. I think we have missed 8 whilst Australia has missed 12, this is just a guess mind but I am confident it is around there .

This is turning out to be the same nightmare as us Europeans had a few months back!

Although I understand that statement Nintendo has said. They should still cater for the minority who do buy VC games too. I am shocked that the Wii Points card has risen in price here in the UK.
