I used to enter the Gadget Show a lot but I don't do that anymore. At least I had a chance. I like how they are varied in tech and the challenges they do.
@3: Isn't NOA always fumbling words and getting their point across in the wrongest way possible? It doesn't surprise me that there has always been a lack in communication within the company.
As for what was said, they have to say it so it doesn't make them look bad in the spotlight.
Well it'll definately be a bigger probability then winning the lottery since there must be about a few hundred UK based users here, so the chances are pretty high.
Although that is considered a good price, for a handheld it feels expensive still...I know it maybe due to the features it has but it is still a handheld which provides cheaper games and parts overall.
Although I am disappointed at how the Launch Line-Up are just updated iterations of trusted franchises, I hope that the newer IPs are released sooner rather then later. I guess Pilotwings, Super Monkey Ball and SF4 will keep gamers busy for a few months but the crucial time will be nearer Christmas where we will hopefully learn of more releases.
Although Metal Gear and the like will be out this year, I have noticed Sonuc Team generally release a Non-Sonic game first (Chu Chu Rocket, Billy Hatcher, Project Rub), so I'll be looking forward to that as well as the 3DS Mystery Mario game.
A bad move on their part. That's basically telling them "We decide whether you make profit or not", if it doesn't sell, the Pubs can blame Nibtendo rather then themselves when push comes to shove.
I can see that some pubs won't publish on the service due to this ignorance sadly.
Streets of Rage takes me back, my best childhood game that I've played countless times.
I still need to get Super Fantasy Zone though to complete my collection...and the music on there is just epic, I like Don't Stop although it loops after 30 seconds.
I rarely take note of ONM anymore, probably because of what Raylax mentioned but they don't seem to have many exciting articles to read, even when there aren't many Nintendo games coming out...
Most people here are right to be upset. Did Nintendo forget that they themselves were a small company (regarding making games) in the early 80's?
If that's the case...why does Konami, Capcom, SEGA, what have you exist as big companies now? They all were small at some point so it's not like garage developers are rubbish...
Reg sometimes needs to choose his words carefully...I like the guys passion but he sometimes really needs to think what he says sometimes.
I hope these garage devs prove them wrong in all honesty.
Two can of course co-exist but it WILL effect everyone in the long term as the majority always win when it comes to what they want rather then what the minority want.
This type of game will benefit from the 3D, the edges will stand out more so you can avoid going over them as in some cases they have a blind spot in some situations.
Both points are wrong and right. Quality gaming maybe in trouble due to smaller, cheaper games...but at the same time, these small games are what the majority play in their spare time (which isn't much).
Both parties seem to not like what the other is saying because money is involved...whether Nintendo like it or not social gaming and cheaper gaming is here to stay. It won't effect the mainstream gamers one bit so why do people care as we have more variety?
I am glad this company made it, they've filled a gap in the industry that wouldn't dare to "look back to push forward", we all like new experiences, but we can still innovate with old ideas along with a new look that reminds us of those days.
Although I haven't bought any of the games (I tried the demo and it wasn't for me sadly), I appreciate what they have done and I wish them the very best success for the future...who knows? This team could go places with their ideas.
P.S: I understand the pain of Wisdom Teeth...as it's happening to me at the moment.
Capcom, Ubisoft and Konami are there day 1 but where the heck is SEGA!?! I thought Super Monkey Ball was a EU/NA launch game but it doesn't seem to be like that it seems.
"I don't have figures to hand and it's not a simple case of cost per area, you have to take in to account the number of sales you'd expect to get from a territory. If it costs £5000 to rate in the US but you expect 100,000 sales and £2000 to rate in Oz but you only expect 5,000 sales, it's not necessarily worth the risk.
Also, some territories ratings boards recognise the difference between $1M budget boxed products and $50K budget download titles and offer cheaper services but the OFLC doesn't."
That is seriously bad....is the USK like this too in Germany? (another country that has release dates and censorship similar to Oceania)
Although you could blame the OFLC, Nintendo definately sells in Australia...so the risk is little.
My Goodmans is alright displaying Mega Drive, Wii, 360, PS2 AND PS3 through FAV, AV2, Pb, HDMI and AV1...now I need something to hook up the S-Video input. XD
I have heard that 5 franchises are coming on 3DS, 2 of them new (one is likely from Sonic Team), 2 are revisits of older IPs and one is obviously a Sonic game.
What? You add Space Harrier without OutRun as well? Blasphemy!
Kind of obvious considering the games are about trading as the USP.
I'd like it if GAME FREAK made at least one new franchise and give Pokemon a break (we have generations 2, 4 and 5 from the DS era and the other two generations on the GBA now).
Anyway, I expect another Pokemon game to be released in 2012.

Re: Nintendo Responds to 3DS Black Screen Error
I remember my GC formatting my memory card so I just replaced it. Rather have a working one then a LE that is flawed.
But yeah, sucks for the 3DS owners...they better get it fixed soon...
Re: Metacritic Career Ratings Pit Aonuma Versus Miyamoto
How long will it be before we rate game companies?

Re: Win 1 of 3 Nintendo 3DS' & 4 Games with Ubisoft (UK)
Being late isn't always the case. I have seen people win with early raffle tickets...it's completely random and the luck of the draw.
Newbies who win doesn't make a difference.

Re: Win 1 of 3 Nintendo 3DS' & 4 Games with Ubisoft (UK)
Looked up the answer, but the Wiki seems to have the guys name wrong. XD
If I do win (not likely), I don't use my googlemail address at all so they'll have to ask me for the Hotmail E-Mail instead (n n)
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2011
Surprised they didn't release 6 and charge 100 points for it to EU members, still...nice to see a spin-off of the main series debut after 5 years!

Re: Bomberman and Bonk Cancelled for 3DS
They are probably not trying to milk him as much since there are already too many Bomberman games on the DD services.
Sad to see the other two go though.

I never knew the Trafford Centre was open til Midnight! I know the Cinema there is open til 3am or something...
Re: Review: Super Monkey Ball 3D (3DS)
This looks to be one of the few 3DS games I'm interested in, but I'm waiting until a years past to see what the 3DS will be capable of in the future.
No Monkey Target? Not sure if it's in the iOS version either...

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th March 2011 (Europe)
Should I get this and wait for MWIV and Super Hang-On or should I ignore this and wait for those games?
So hard to choose! >_<
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wins BAFTA for Best Gameplay
I nominated that, although I haven't played it and it was the only game I would of liked to win over all the others (despite not being a Galaxy fan).
Colours losing to Cut the Rope? I've never even heard of that game and I would of said Kingdom Hearts or Valkyria should of won that category.

Re: Wii is the Fastest Console in U.S. History to Shift 35 Million Units
One things certain, these things will get rare in the year 3000 rather then 2011 like some of the older systems.
Re: Features: The Game Gear Games We Need on 3DS Virtual Console
Tempo AND Tempo Jr need to be released. It's only fair to release both iterations.
Whilst we're at it, Fantasy Zone Gear and Tails' Adventure. Good list though.
Re: Who Dares to Release We Dare in the UK? Not Ubisoft!
The French ruin everything they have good for themselves.
Maybe that's why Arsenal will never win a cup. Ba Dum Tish
Seriously though, the UK won't care...we have Page 3 girls for heaven's sake!
Re: Square Enix Brings More SNES Goodies to Virtual Console
That's awesome, although it means I better double up on my Points.
Re: Master Higgins Has Not One But Two Upcoming Virtual Console Games
Why didn't I wait for this to release instead of Wonder Boy?
This is the one I remember at my cousins house where he shook his backside at the screen when you don't move...at the time it was so funny.

Re: Features: The History of BIT.TRIP, Part 3
They should have a week of celebrations. One day per game and the final day for new horizons.
Re: Features: The History of BIT.TRIP, Part 2
Another great article and some insights about how they approached things like controls and visuals.

Glad a VC game was released, but it ain't no Monster World IV or Super Hang-On..
Re: Retro Gamer Celebrates the N64 with Special Issue
Saw this in WHSmiths but it didn't have much else of interest for me. I guess it's worth it for the article alone.
Re: Sega Names First Game Gear Games for 3DS Virtual Console
That's a tenth of the whole GG library already (not including Japanese exclusives).
I kind of hoped they'd vary the first five...Tails' Adventure instead of Sonic Drift 2 and Fantasy Zone Gear instead of Dragon Crystal.
Ah well, those will be coming down the line.
Re: Game Gear and TurboGrafx-16 Coming to 3DS Virtual Console
If the 3DS and Wii VC's are connected like the PS3/PSP PSN unity then I'm interested in getting a 3DS to transfer my games.
You heard me Nintendo, make it happen!
I bet the service will be slow on the GG but not for the GB.
Re: Cast Envious Eyes at Japanese Gamers Buying their 3DS Today
Majority of Tokyo? What about Japan as a whole!?!
The post above sounds like trolling but they have a point (although not in a videogame site).
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - March 2011
Good to see Final Fantasy VI but I would rather have V first translated.
Re: Meet the Pokemon Game Designers at UK Launch
London always gets the big names and stuff...
Why couldn't it have been in Birmingham instead? (as it's right in the middle of England)
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th February 2011 (Europe)
Dawwww, no VC release.

Re: Monster World IV Comes Westward, Finally
This looks interesting...but it technically isn't a Wonder Boy title because:
1) The protagonist is a woman.
2) It seems to just be called Monster World 4.
I may get it one day,
Re: Talking Point: Why Nintendo and Rare Should Reunite
Didn't Retro Studios have key figures leave before DKCR because of no creative freedom that Nintendo refused to give them?
Either way, it doesn't look good to one of Britain's best developers...
